Fight smarter, not harder. Begin by equipping a Mandalorian Melee shield at the beginning of the fight. Use the shield from your inventory console, so you don't lose any time. Keep re-charging that shield as needed (which will be often at the start). When you get a chance, sneak in an Adrenal Stength stim, and also, use your med packs from the console as needed. Use Force Speed as well. You should have Knight speed by now, and that extra attack per round does come in handy. Use whatever upgraded melee weapon you have at your disposal. By now, you should have been at least able to put some decent damage upgrades to a regular Vibrosword.

In KOTOR 1, I controlled the swoop bike with just the keyboard. In KOTOR 2, it seems that controlling the bike with the mouse is better. You get more precise movements, and faster responses. The other hand simply controls the space bar to make the bike jump when needed.

We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Combat
Unabomber replied to Ginny's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not unusual at all. The movie where Visas detects your presence occurs once you become sufficiently light or dark, and there's no delay once you get the requisite number of LS or DS points. What happened in your case, was that you intervened, and as the good guy, got a LS point for intervening in the first place. Once you got that point, time froze, and you were taken to that movie scene. BTW, this must mean that you did just about everything as a LS'er. Usually, when I go that path, I don't get that movie scene until after refusing the reward from the Sullustan! -
Yup. Eastern-most room in the Enclave sub-level. Search the bodies near the statue, and you'll find the datapad that gives the message. Once this happens, Vrook will spawn in the Crystal Caves. Not necessary. However, it's still good to go to the mercenary camp. One of the mercenaries is a fun one to bully, if you have Force Persuade available.

Nonsense! Hanharr gets my vote for "worst character," although you neglected to put him up there. At least the remote got to be a hero and detonate the Mass Shadow Generator, and GO-TO had a most interesting story behind him. Then again, I really don't like wookies. I didn't mind leaving Zaalbar behind in the village back in KOTOR 1.

Fight smarter, not harder. Use your best energy shield (you should have several Echani shields by now) for each character, and cast Force Speed. Cast Energy Resistance. If you have Improved or Master Energy Resistance, you'll affect the entire party, and this will blunt a lot of the lightsaber damage. Use stimulants as well. You should have several "Hyper" class stims that give you two minutes of +6 to STR, DEX, and CON. For each of your lightsaber-wielding characters, switch to the Makashi form (Form II). This will give you a nice attack bonus against other lightsaber wielders, and will also grant you some more resistance to their force powers. If you do all of the above, and focus on one Sith at a time, you'll cut them down sooner or later.

Actually, you can buy all sorts of items, such as advanced medpacks, and break them down into components. Much more efficient this way, than breaking down the armors directly.

Did you find the dead bodies of the mercenaries in the enclave sub-level? They're in the same room where you found Disciple. Once you click on the bodies and read the datapad, Vrook will spawn in the Crystal Caves.

most worthy sith Lord (fight skill)
Unabomber replied to Yoda_I_am's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Depends on the circumstances. Vader, prior to getting pruned by Kenobi, would have been the most worthy in terms of sheer combat skills, since he basically took out Dooku, who would have been second. Otherwise, Sidious gets the nod, since he stood toe to toe with Yoda, and was able to slaughter three Jedi Masters with relative ease. -
which planet is your favorite?
Unabomber replied to jedielfsorcerer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Korriban: The site of many an interesting adventure... Revan, the Jedi Exile, Jaden Korr, and several others. No shortage of fights, and in KOTOR, it was most amusing to do Korriban as the last planet, since you could honestly say "I am Darth Revan!" and have people laugh at you. -
Winning as a gray possible?
Unabomber replied to stalwart149's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, you can complete the game as a grey Jedi. You just won't get the prestige classes, or the mastery bonuses, unless you got them before you made your neutrality push. You need to trigger the fight with the Red Eclipse. -
He killed three, and according to the novel, they were the best available swordsmen that Windu had on hand.
-
No need to talk to anyone on Dxun. Once you stabilize Onderon one way or the other, you can just talk with Geeda.
-
I completed Dantooine first, and got the Silver crystal, Opila crystal, and Electromesh Suit, and an Immortality Belt. After completing Onderon (save Talia, talk with Kavar), I was able to get a nice Upari crystal and a few more nice items, in addition to the HK Pacifist Package.

What You Hate Most About Darth Malak
Unabomber replied to Jedi_hunter101's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Malak was a great villain. Sure, he was a dumb brute that was a lousy strategist, but he does deserve some points for being the of the most ruthless bastards of the entire time. Who else would condemn an entire planet just to stop one person from escaping? -
Without exploits, your highest level will be attained by having Kreia in your party (XP % bonus) at all times possible, doing every side quest, and maxing out all influences with every possible NPC (not likely). Even then, I doubt you'll get past L30. The three exploit places are in the Kinrath cave on Dantooine, of course, the Hssiss explot on Korriban, and the stealthed Sith Assassins on Dxun. As long as you don't go near Mandalore's office during that big brawl, the multiple assassins will not spawn, and only one or two stealthed assassins will spawn at a time, either near the gate, or near the training circle. Beware, though; the cloaked Sith Assassins can take a big whallop, and this method is tedious.

Help , where do I put the proton charges
Unabomber replied to Sanguine's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Activate a Mandalorian Power Shield. This protects you from physical damage. Cast Force Speed, so you can get the extra attacks. Hack away with your lightsaber, and use one of the advanced lightsaber forms, such as Ataru, Shien or Juyo (Niman does not count). Each of these can help you deliver more damage in one way or another (Ataru gives you better chances at crit strikes, Shien enhances crit strike damage, Juyo gives another attack). With a decent lightsaber, you should be able to chop down the beast in a matter of a couple rounds. -
Yeah, Mira vs the Ubese is a miserable time, if you haven't had the foresight to prepare her, and want to hold back on levelling up. I tried the direct approach of trying to fight my way through, and that lasted for about the time it took for all of them to whittle down all of my Mandalorian shields. Not good. I tried running past them while using an Advanced Alacrity stim. I almost made it to the exit, before my last shield gave out. In the end, I decided to plant a bunch of mines, lure them back, and let them run over the mines. Cheap, but it did clear out enough of them to make a bee line for the exit. On another playthrough, I was lucky enough to find a Defel Mimicker (stealth-enhancing belt), and levelled her up once, to give a few stealth points. I also equipped every stealth-enhancing object I had, and managed to sneak my way to the exit without a single Ubese spotting her.

What if Kreia hadn't intervened...

Actually, he's referring to the last scene at Dantooine. -
Angry Handmaiden - Jedifiable (DS)?
Unabomber replied to maia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There are two cutscenes that you can get if you have more influence with Visas than you do with Handmaiden. 1) If you have somewhat more, but not a large amount, influence with Visas, then there will be a cutscene on the Ebon Hawk where the two of them have a conversation. 2) If you have a lot more influence with Visas, then you'll get the same scene, but then Handmaiden will go talk to Kreia. Once you get the cutscene where Handmaiden talks to Kreia, she (Handmaiden) will always respond to you by saying that there's nothing more between you two. When this happens, you will be unable to turn her into a Jedi, regardless of how much influence you gain (or lose) with her. While she only responds to light side acts, I wouldn't worry about getting a few LS points early on, since you can much more easily get DS points later. -
Influence: a success or failure?
Unabomber replied to Lacan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I actually liked the influence system. While it didn't affect certain characters that much, seeing characters like Atton go from protesting the slaughter of innocents, to saying "Good thing we got the drop on him" as he became more and more evil, gave things a bit more flavor. Other characters such as Handmaiden, Mira, etc., were still the same, even though they both ended up looking like something out of a gothic modelling agency. I wish they would have had more differences as dark siders. -
If you are on Korriban, just keep hacking away at him. After you knock him down twice, you'll get a telepathic message from Kreia, and automatically run. Or, if you don't want to wait, just run away, and exit the academy through the same door you entered.

Use the Boy Scout motto of "be prepared." Use one of each Hyper Adrenal stimulant. Each of these last for a good long two minutes. Equip and activate your best shield. Given that you will be at a fairly high level at the end, you should have a lot of Verpine Prototype shields in your inventory, or at least Echani Duelling shields, or regular Echani shields. Keep reactivating them when she wears you down. If the auto-level was smart (snicker) enough to select Energy Resistance as a power, then use it. This lasts for 2 minutes as well. Whatever combat feats the computer may have selected, you may as well use them (Critical Strike, Power Attack or Flurry). If you get whittled down to low health, pause the game, access your inventory screen, and use a Life Support Kit from your inventory. This will heal you a good bit without you having to waste a turn.

Bastilla was supposed to be Juhani's name. I'm guessing that since there's a cat-goddess named "Bast" in one of the various mythological pantheons of deities, the name would have been appropriate for the Cathar.
