You can get to L18 pretty quickly, if you do Korriban or Dxun first. On Dxun, when the Sith start invading the Mandalorian camp, they will continually respawn, and you can keep killing them, as long as you don't go near Mandalore's office. They're actually pretty tough, but they're worth good experience. Having Force Kill really helps. On Korriban, you can keep searching the dead Jedi's corpse and spawning Hssiss.

Random loot generator, although if you are high enough of a level, there are some locations where you'll get a high quality pistol or two, such as from the guy on Dantooine in the Khoonda building (Suluruu, I think). I did Dantooine as the last planet, and once got a Mandalorian Disintegrator and an Onasi Blaster after getting his moisture vaporators back from Jorran.

Original Possible Dark Endings
Unabomber replied to Revan007's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is a pretty good summary of what was left out: http://tubertarian.com/kotor2missingcontent.php The Wikipedia also has some more links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Kn..._The_Sith_Lords Enjoy! (or grumble at the situation) -
Any fully upgradeable weapon upgraded with the following: Pinpoint Scope IV (makes your weapon keen) Pure Rylith Cell (adds 2-20 damage) Mandalorian Chamber III (adds 2-12 damage, also 2-16 extra on a critical hit) The disruptor pistols that are upgradeable, such as the Mandalorian Disintegrator or Mandalorian Ripper, as well as the Charric rifle, benefit from the above the most. With the pinpoint scope, your critical hit range with any of the three will be a VERY nice 15-20, before any feats are applied. While some weapons might do a wee bit more damage, the amount of extra damage isn't really significantly greater than the amount you'll get from the upgrades, and the critical threat ranges aren't quite as good as the three weapons listed above. I try to give a fully upgraded Charric to HK, and the dual Mandalorian disruptors to GO-TO or T3M4. With HK's assassination protocols, don't be surprised if you see a single somewhat lucky shot doing 100+ damage.

Critical Hits and Critical Strikes
Unabomber replied to Sinbreaker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Any of the three work just fine in KOTOR2. Just build your saber appropriately, and you'll be as happy as a pig in slop. If you choose to use Flurry or Power Attack, feel free to dump in whatever upgrades you want, in whatever saber combination you want. A keen upgrade helps the power attack users, since the power attack adds on extra damage when you do manage to get a critical hit. If you choose to use Critical Strike, then this is where you should select a standard saber, or a short saber, over a double bladed saber, since the critical threat range is greater with the standard and short sabers. If you want to use two sabers, then a standard and a short one would do nicely. Also, upgrade your sabers with somethng that gives you a keen upgrade, whether it's a Nextor crystal, a Velmorite crystal, or if you can't find either of those crystals, an Improved Beam Gem Lens that you can manufacture. Usually, I'll let Atton get Master Critical Strike, and have him use a standard saber and a short saber, in combination with a keen upgrade in each saber. When combined with Master Speed, he can take out almost anyone in 2-3 rounds, even the tougher ones (such as Queen Talia). -
A few other places: On Dxun, if you help the Mandalorian trapped up on the ledge (permacrete detonator area), you'll gain some influence with Bao-Dur. On Onderon, if you give an open starport visas to the Republic agent that recognizes you, you'll gain considerable influence with Bao-Dur. On Nar-Shadaa, if you let Bao-Dur repair the air speeder (need to do this before going to Jek-Jek Tar) you'll gain considerable influence.

The most useless character
Unabomber replied to Flamethrower's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The wookies, in both KOTOR and KOTOR2. In KOTOR, I really had no use for Zaalbar, even in the Sewers, or at the Sith base, since Carth was more than capable of handling things in the underground, and Bastila (Jedi powers go a long way) was far more useful in the Sith base. That, plus no armor on a wookie = sitting duck. In KOTOR2, on the few times that I played as DS, Hanharr wasn't too useful either. Again, no armor, poor skill points (even for a scout), etc. That, plus I just don't like wookies. At least his LS-equivalent, Mira, can be made into a Jedi, and looks a lot better... Also, the "rrrph, rrreeeerrrrr" snarls and growls got rather annoying. I found GO-TO very useful. Equip him with two disruptor-type pistols (Mandalorian Disintegrators, upgraded with Mandalorian Chamber III, Pinpoint Scope IV, and Pure Rylith Cell), and he can take out almost anyone, especially since he has a combat module that grants him improved rapid shot. I actually enjoyed the GO-TO character. Smug and arrogant, yes, but even he can be stunned / surprised, despite being a droid. I even got a chuckle out of his reaction of cowardice before entering the Sith Academy of Korriban. -
In the canonical ending (wikipedia term), Revan and the Exile would both be LS.

Just as a bit of warning, it might not necessarily be a fixed thing. After all, the game scales up to the character's level.

The way to avoid triggering scene #2 (in my previous post on the first page) is to make sure that you get as much influence with Handmaiden as you can, before you step back into the Ebon Hawk (triggering the spawning of Visas). It's actually not too difficult to get influence with her, since you can spar her once, be nice to her, and you'll get a high enough score. If you accidentally forget this, and fought Visas, don't talk to her until you've had a good amount of influence with Handmaiden, since it's very easy to get influence with Visas as well.
-
There are two conversations / cut scenes that can be triggered, if your influence is significantly higher with Visas than it is with Handmaiden. 1) If your influence with Visas is about 15 points higher, then you'll get a scene where Handmaiden is practicing her unarmed combat moves, and Visas has a conversation with her. Visas asks her what you look like. Overall, no harm done. or 2) If your influence with Visas is about 30 (give or take) points higher, then you get the same scene, but then Handmaiden talks with Kreia, and then becomes convinced that you're not worth it. She'll still help you fight if in your party, but you cannot progress in the conversation lines anymore.

Two first shops that give color crystals?
Unabomber replied to Arnkell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There should be an orange crystal in one of the footlockers in the Sith Academy on Korriban every time. Yes, it's orange, and not the bronze one you wanted, but the blade color is the same. -
It's a random loot generator. You can talk to various merchants on the various worlds, and some will have different lightsaber color crystals, some might not have any crystals at all. Talk to the nasty lady (Daraala?) in the salvagers' camp. She also sells all sorts of lightsaber materials, including color crystals.

Nar Shaada works fine, as a first planet. You can get a couple of sabers pretty quickly on Dantooine, though. Since you already have one part from Telos, you can go into the Jedi enclave sublevel, help Joran, and then find the salvager's corpses (the one with the will). Alter the will (you'll get some small DS points, but that's insignificnat). After you clean out the enclave sublevel, talk to Jorran at the salvagers' camp, and buy the Jedi artifacts from him. You'll get another part, as well as a couple of crystals. Go back to the Ebon Hawk, and fight Visas, and you'll get the third piece you need. Talk to Bao-Dur, and construct your lightsaber. Then, go directly to Khoonda, and talk to Zherron. He'll be surprised that the will left all of the Jedi artifacts to you, but you'll end up with a whole saber (since you already built one). You can then leave Dantooine, and do the other planets, if you want, or stick around, and finish it off right there and then. You'll get another saber from Master Vrook, regardless of what side you choose.
-
If you have more influence with Visas than you do with Handmaiden, you'll trigger a scene between the two. Handmaiden's practicing her unarmed combat, and Visas will make a comment about fighting through the Force. A minor cat fight will erupt, and Visas will ask Handmaiden what you look like. If you have significantly more influence with Visas than you do with Handmaiden, you'll get the above scene, but then Handmaiden will talk to Kreia, and will be angry at you, and will not speak to you again, except for some brushoffs (you blew it).

You can get some influence when you first meet G0-TO, by saying that it's good that he's "floating around." That will gain some influence. Best chance for some influence, without getting DS points, is to use him on Onderon during your first time there. First, take him to the ghetto area (western square), and finish out the collection of the evidence to free Dhagon Ghent. When you go to the droid selling the parts in the western square, try to "fix" him, and G0-TO will offer his help. Accept G0-TO's help, and thank him for it. You'll get some influence here. Next, when you go back to the Merchant's square (do this BEFORE meeting Master Kavar in the cantina), you'll notice that the riot inciter is getting mouthy. Tell the soldier to call for backup, and G0-TO will agree with your decision, and you'll gain some more influence. Assuming that you haven't lost any influence, if you do all of the above, you'll have enough to unlock the remainder of the conversations with him.

Who would you rather have killed?
Unabomber replied to Darth_Onivega's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I found GO-TO to be quite useful, and a pretty good double pistol wielder. Just upgrade a couple of Mandalorian Disintegrators with Pure Rylith Cell, Mandalorian Chamber III, and a decent scope, and you have someone who can dish out a good bit of punishment, especially against lightsaber wielders (can't block disintegrator bolts?). With one of his droid items, he gets improved rapid shot, too. The person I want most to die, though, are the wookies (Zaalbar and Hanhaar). -
Also doesn't hurt to equip an energy shield. You should have found a couple of better shields that can absorb heat damage from the droid's flamethrower. The Arkanian shield works well. Equip your character with a vibroblade that was upgraded with ion upgrades. Hack away... Also, if you have any ion blasters, use them.

help please, problems with kotor2
Unabomber replied to drissdadi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You only get Disciple if you are playing as a female character. Male PC's get Handmaiden instead. Even if you played as a male PC, though, you had to run into Disciple in the Jedi enclave sublevel, in the library. It's automatically triggered once you enter that room (the same room where you saw the bodies of the mercenaries killed by Vrook). Training Handmaiden requires a bit more work. First, you need to have defeated her three times in combat, aboard the Ebon Hawk. Then, you need to talk to her about her mother, and mention that she was a Jedi, and that you could train her. You have to get her to break her vow to Atris as well. Once you get her to ask you to train her, then do it right there. If you selected the "later" option, you blew it. Note: You won't be able to get the third fight with her, unless your character level is 18. Thus, a L18 Guardian, or a L15 Sentinel / L3 Jedi Master, would do fine. Finally, you absolutely cannot let your influence with Visas get too much higher than that with the Handmaiden, otherwise, Handmaiden will get angry, and basically tell you to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. -
True, but he was appointed to the council by Palpatine, not selected by the council. There was one other case, though, where Ki-Adi-Mundi (the conehead Jedi) was selected to the Council when he was just a Jedi Knight, although he became a Jedi Master soon after that.

The databank states that Malak lost his jaw due to a lightsaber hitting him, but of course, they don't say who did the deed, nor did they reveal the time of severance. Possible culprits: 1) During the Jedi Civil War, some Jedi master that Malak fought almost klilled him, and merely took his jaw. 2) During the Mandalorian Wars, perhaps the Mandalore at the time nailed him. Even though Mandalore wasn't a Jedi, that wouldn't stop him from using a lightsaber. After all, Sherruk in KOTOR 1 wielded one (according to witnesses). 3) Sometime during the Jedi Civil War, or possibly right before it, maybe he challenged Revan to a duel, and Revan won.

The most you'll get is a single lightsaber part, either from the Ithorians, or Czerka, by the time you leave Telos. There are no parts available at Atris' academy, either. I usually suggest going to Dantooine first, if you want to get a couple of quick lightsabers. Assuming that you're sufficiently dark or light, and have triggered Visas spawning, you'll get a second part from her if you simply exit the ship and re-enter it. You can get the third and final part you need from Jorran, either by killing him, or rescuing him and buying the part (and some crystals or upgrades) from him. Once you assemble the saber, any further locations that would have spawned a part, will give you a whole saber instead. You can get another one by forging the will in the Enclave (from the dead salvager), and then speaking with Zherron. Do this before going to the caves, or else you might not get the opportunity. You'll get a small amount of DS points, but at this stage, it's not significant. After you finish the final battle in Khoonda, whether you took the LS or DS, you'll get another whole saber from Master Vrook. Thus, if you play your cards right, you'll have three sabers by the time you leave Dantooine.

Standard lightsaber, blue or green. The way I see it, why attract undue attention to yourself? After all, you're already going to be a target for wielding a lightsaber in combat. The last thing you want is more unwanted attention just because of a different color. Yikes! There's some guy with a purple lightsaber! He must be as bad as that bald guy with the BMF logo on his saber! We'd better take him out first!

Start by equipping a shield that guards against energy attacks, on each of your three people. By this stage of the game, you should have at least Echani shields, which can soak up a good amount of damage. Also, if someone in your party has Improved Energy Resistance or Master Energy Resistance, cast it, since it will shunt aside some of the lightsaber damage as well. Use stimulants, if need be, and if your characters are Jedi by this stage, use the Makashi lightsaber style, which gives you a nice bonus against lightsaber wielders.
-
That should have been fixed with the last patch. As for getting more lightsabers, here are some places where the opponents drop a part (if you haven't built one yet), or a whole lightsaber (if you have built one): Ebon Hawk, one location: Defeat Visas Dantooine, three locations: Save Jorran, and buy the Jedi artifacts from him Alter the will on the datapad, and after you finish the Enclave sub-level, talk with Zherron. The encounter with Vrook after the battle with the mercenaries / militia. Nar Shaada, two locations(?) : Vogga's horde Re-uniting Lootra with Aida Dxun (first time, two locations): One of the Cannocks in the Jungle closest to the Mandalorian camp. You'll run into it when you are trying to meet up with Kelborn. When speaking with Mandalore after you've impressed him enough. Onderon (first time): Rescue Dagon Ghent. Korriban (two locations): Vash's corpse (bugged if you haven't patched the game, though) The trials in the Shyrack cave (the area closer to Ludo Kresh's corpse) Dxun (second time, raiding party): Possible finds on the lightsaber-wielding Sith foes Loot Freedon Naad's tomb for his unique short lightsaber Telos (second time, Sith invasion): Kill the dark jedi in the TSF facility. Usually drops a double bladed red lightsaber. Trayus: Several. All in all, you should have 10+ sabers even without completing the second round of Dxun.
