  1. So it appears that the Goldpact Knight's ability, Gilded Enmity, does not stack with several effects, including the Paladin's own Zealous Endurance aura (adds armor). So this raises the question: is this ability really any good? My thoughts are: 1) If one is a Goldpact Knight, Zealous Endurance becomes less useful, which pushes us towards other auras, such as the accuracy aura. Either that, or roll a different subclass and take ZE. That said, ZE is only +1 armor while GE is +4. 2) What ways are there of increasing characters' armor, and similarly what ways of increasing accuracy, and which is easiest to increase and keep increased for long periods? It seems like there is no Armor of Faith-type spell in Deadfire, however Blessing still exists, this would imply it's still relatively easy to get +Accuracy but a bit harder to get +Armor. 3) Is the Zealous aura that increases Stride any good? It seems a bit pants. 25% extra speed is pretty negligible, and the defense bonus is arguably not that useful unless you're really having trouble repositioning. 4) How do the upgraded auras compare? Upgraded Accuracy aura gives small hit-to-crit (arguably only useful for crit fishers), while ZE gives a regenerative effect (could be extremely useful, seems to be the same power as Ancient Memory). ZC's hit-to-graze seems rather too small of an effect to be meaningful. At the moment I'm leaning towards ditching the Goldpact Knight in favour of something else because I kind of like ZE, but maybe the Accuracy aura is better? Or maybe, gasp, the Stride aura is the best? So I was leaning towards that, but now I've changed my mind because Zealous Endurance is only +1 armor, while Gilded Enmity is +4. Plus, ZE's upgraded effects seems to be the best one out of the lot. However, an alternative would be to get Zealous Focus and just not bother with the upgrade. Thoughts? Relevant stats: Gilded Emnity gives +4 armor rating for several hits. Zealous Endurance gives +1 armor rating. Upgraded ZE gives +3 health per 3 seconds. Zealous Focus gives +5 accuracy. Upgraded ZF gives 5% of hits converted to crits. Zealous Charge gives +25% Stride (movespeed), +12 defense while disengaging. Upgraded ZC gives 10% incoming hits converted to grazes. Steel Exhortation (Rank 7 upgrade to Reinforcing Exhortation) grants +4 armor for 12 seconds to any ally. (Priest Spell) Prayer For The Body grants +4 armor rating for 60 seconds. (Priest Spell) Blessing grants Insightful (+5 perception, which boosts accuracy by 5) for 20 seconds (AOE).
  2. Wait so they just straight up switched it to additive now? This is totally weird...
  3. This is highly subjective. I like 4 per-rest spells better than 2 per encounter - because it's more powerful when you need the power - and in trash fights I need no spells. So I would be cautious with the random facepalms. I hate per rest design personally...
  4. > Xoti: perfect portrait, her smile and eyes can tell you her whole personality. I bet she will be a funny and calm lass who likes to drink. your soul
  5. 15%? I thought it was 35%? Edit: 18 might gives +24% damage/healing according to the Pillars 1 wiki...
  6. It's definitely one way of looking at it to imagine that a 3 INT character has the intellect of a brick. Another way of looking at it is that your character is perfectly capable of talking, fighting, solving puzzles, etc even with 3 INT, so if the game doesn't care, why should you? These are just two different ways of looking at the situation. Neither is superior or more enlightened than the other, and there are arguments for both sides. Anyway, on topic, I struggle to think of a character that doesn't need perception.
  7. They're like companions but there is little to no 'banter'. Interjections and the like.
  8. Gah I am trying to finish my Pillars 1 playthrough but it is so mind-numbingly boring, gods grant me strength
  9. I have Roled quite a lot of Criticals in my time, I'll say that
  10. That's cos Firebrand had absurd damage. Blood Thirst is 'ok', zero recovery is quite nice, but that's on a Barbarian. If Bloodlust stacks with itself then that does change things somewhat, but even so: getting kills means you're probably winning the fight anyway. I always assumed that on kill abilities are generally about turning one small kill into an avalanche to destroy the enemy group. So they're not really useless. Even in fights you will clearly win regardless it can make you win quicker. 20% increased attack speed for 10 seconds is not an 'avalanche'. It's not even a significant advantage.

  12. Idk, the new bloodlust for barbarians seems pretty nice. You get 20% action speed for 10 seconds after you down 1 enemy. Just leave one low health mob for your barb to destroy and enjoy the buff. Sounds useless.
  13. Relying on your priest to get kills as a way of counteracting an always-on penalty is just awful game design. It's not just the fact that getting kills is a completely random event. The bigger problem is that if you're getting kills, you're probably winning the fight, and that's not when you need access to critical abilities. In a difficult fight, getting kills will be tough, let alone getting kills AND getting your priest to deliver the killing blow. So ultimately this is just a monk with an ability penalty. The fluff is cute, and fits the character probably, but it's still trash game design. If I was designing this mechanic I would have given her the following: + Chance on kill to gain extra wound - Maximum wounds reduced by 1 Easy. Even better would be whenever Xoti hits a target and it dies within 10 seconds, gain an extra wound, but that would be harder to code I suppose.
  14. No it doesn't. It comes out about a week after release. I mean, that's when the first patch will hit, hopefully, and that's when I will play. *twitch*
  15. Anything based off kills is immediately useless.
  16. Ooh Chanter + Caster. Hadn't thought of that. Yeah, that seems strong.
  17. guys if you want to chime in please add some intelligent input instead of just giving your opinion and saying things like "stupid" "absurd" ect.............. comments like this are no help to anyone and just steer the thread into immature banter thanks Heh
  18. I think you shouldn't underestimate the damage output increase from doubling your pet count. Beckoner will do just fine.
