Thanks for keeping it civil, fellows. Having spent the day in glorious Dungeon Siege 2 gaming with a friend, I find it refreshing to see a lively, reasoned debate. Mouth foaming is quite alright, as long as there's no blood in the foam. As Steve said, it's best to come to an agreement on the terms rather than rely on the dictionairy. When I was a History undergrad, I did my honors thesis on Japan and the Atom bomb. For that reason, I know folks will forgive me for running like hell when I see the issue spring up on the boards. hahaha. Anyhow, get another 28 pages of flame free posts and you'll get to the thread length hall of fame.

Again, Bush said he believed he already had UN approval on two grounds. 1 - The cease-fire was based on Iraq's total duplicity, which the UN said didn't exist. Thusly, we had an initial authorization from the UN to go into Iraq, and the cease-fire was made null and void. 2 - Right after a 9/11, the UNSC passed another UNSCR saying comply immediately or else, and then found they weren't complying. Two years later, we figured the "or else" clause kicked in. The UN did authorize the war officially and made it all legal after the fact. The opinion of one individual does not change the fact the UN did officially sanction the war. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This belongs on a different thread. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This seems like a reasonable side issue for the main topic.

The U.N. is ridiculous, seriously ridiculous

Nice discussion. While the term Retarded is inherently offensive to some folks, the UN is not a member of these fora. I -
Other than the silly notion that the United States is somehow the equivalent of Iran, I find the idea that, since some nations have nuclear weapons, there should be free reign for all nations to have them. If you honestly think that a Islamic fundamentalist theocracy will show the same restraint as the United States, you're sorely misguided. I can hear the howls now... "The United States is a Christian fundamentalist theocracy!!!!" "The United states is ignorint!!!11" "The United States is all warmongers and all our base are belong to them!!!!1!1!1" The notion that George Bush is the moral equivalent of Saddam Hussein or that the United States republic is the equivalent of the Iranian theocracy is absolute rubbish. Argue that war should not be an option in this case. Argue that Iran might respond to sanctions. Argue that the people desire democracy and we should encourage democratic reforms. Don't argue that the United States is the same as Iran. The idea is ridiculous on its face.

Why don't you guys create a thread, then?

The PS3 without a HD? Guess what the Xbox 360 ...
Cantousent replied to Drakron's topic in Computer and Console
I think I might look into this and create my own multi-media rig. If I do that, who cares about the console anyhow? Hmm, I shall have to consider this. -
I just don't understand. Watch every movie read every line listen to every audio file look at every art piece ...And yet I feel no smarter than before. Anyhow, that ninja fellow is going to get punched in the head one day when he jumps out at somebody.

Well, it's definitely a story, that's for sure. I didn't delete it. I set it on invisible for the time being. It actually tells a story, though. Maybe Authority can come in and give us a thought. Anyhow, invisible for right now. Weird but compelling lyrics.

Normally, I would warn you. Instead, I'll point and laugh. hahahahahaha, foolish Pixie! hahahahaha

Flame wars will not be tolerated. Healthy, lively, and sometimes heated debate are good. Flaming is not. Of course, we don't usually get real flames around here. More like low level heat flares or something.

Hey, it does kind of look like Kate Winslet, doesn't it?

I always see the "Americans can't read and are ignorant" comments as basically harmless. When spoken with humor, I take it with humor. When spoken in anger, it's beneath my contempt. Either way, no real harm done.

Homebrew Media Center for teh win! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very interesting, Servant. I am.... intrigued. :Eldar's evil grin icon: Actually, Servant knew my mind, Drakron. I use my xbox as a multimedia center. I have a boatload of songs on it. Somewhere along the lines of a thousand soungs so far. I use it for my stereo and DVD player. I don't like having 50 different machines in my front room, and it has sufficed quite well. I won't replace it with something that does not have a hard disk. I use my xbox for as a media center far more than I have ever considered using it as a gaming system. I like the games, but they're only part of the whole package. -
Not to contribute to the spam, but the kid loves it. He'd be upset if people didn't pick on him. Now, my suggestion, if you want a serious political discussion, is to start one. I don't mean trawl the waters or act the part of the evil clown, but come up with a legitimate premise with which folks can agree or disagree and then see if anyone bites. I've started threads about serious news items recently and got a whopping two pages out of it. You're a smart fellow, Commissar. Start a lively debate and see folks pick sides.

Whoa! Hold on there, sir! Are you aware of the fact that said song was in fact banned in 1964 due to its highly obvious pro-drug stance? Im afraid I will have no choice but to issue a warning, this kind of highly imoral behaviour does not belong on our fine boards. And in the name of our own reverend Fionavar? Shame on you! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I might have heard that a time or two. :D

.....no picture of me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hahaha, you yutz! I wouldn't even want to risk my wife seeing that. She'd be REALLY jealous.

Okay, break it up! Enough of yer shinanegans! It's time fer the lot o' ya to go about yer business. Anyhow, as much of a pain as this thread is, I'd like to keep it open. Post a lyric. Here, I'll post one in honor of me good friend, Fionavar: PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal PUFF, and brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. OH PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on PUFF's gigantic tail, Noble kings and princes would bow when'er they came, Pirate ships would lower their flags when PUFF roared out his name OH, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, A dragon lives forever but not so little boys Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys. One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more And PUFF that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar. His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain, PUFF no longer went to play along the cherry lane. Without his life-long friend, PUFF could not be brave, So PUFF that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. Oh! PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee

Cantousent replied to Cantousent's topic in Way Off-Topic
I can't listen anymore. I'm too busy trying to keep an eye on the lyrics thread. Ugh. So far, they've combined food with sex, solitary sex, religion with violence. Pretty soon, we'll have solitary sex applied religiously with great violence... while eating. -
Can I spend a few minutes somewhere other than this board? Geez, Mothman. Anyhow, this is America. Violence is never a problem, only sexual references. :D okay, okay, mods can joke too you know.

Even if that's true, Commissar proposed that the only successful MMORPGs are sword and sorcery. CoH isn't exactly burning unsold copies of the game on Venice beach. It's a successful game.

City of Heroes is quite popular and it's a "comic book hero" sort of MMORPG. City of Villains is hitting the shelves soon.
