I shudder to ask. Must.Not.Ask.About.Secret.

Sorry, fellows, but my favorite mod is Phosphor. (See the wisdom of that choice?)

Less nonsense about jodo and my numbered friend. More nonsense about your dirty little secrets.

Nope, he's all american. Native American by descent, I believe. Here's another secret, I had hopes, at one time, of singing opera professionally. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. One of my Classmates, Earle Patriarcho, sings for New York's Metropolitan Opera.

Gromnir played a defensive position on the UCB footbal team. I would think, given the size of Orcs, that you would have handled all competition with ease. Must have been showing your age, even before you... well... aged. See, I didn't even call you a half-orc this time. hahaha

funny government/lawyer/judicial/political stories

I don't disagree with the lady taking McDonalds to court. Nor do I disagree with a monetary award. I disagree, most strenuously, with the amount she received. She did, after all, have a hand in her own accident, carrying a cup of hot coffee between her legs. Corporations, evil thought they are, should not be accountable for every risk the consumer takes. So, the coffee was too hot? Undoubtedly. Did the lady deserve to win the lottery as a result of her own indiscretion? Absolutely not. -
I once stabbed a co-worker in the chest with a toothpick. He always pinched my arm. At first it was funny, but I got tired of the bruises so I told him to rethink it the next time he got the urge. He pinched my arm again, and I stabbed the toothpick into his chest. So, he's jumping up and down with a toothpick sticking out of his chest screaming, "ouch! ouch! Man, I can't believe you did that!" He pulls the toothpick out, complete with blood on the end of it. We got a good chuckle out of it later. He never pinched my arm again.

I can forgive anything. ...But this one?

You suck blood?

King set himself up well enough to make a sequel for the Stand. I don't really know what I'd like to see as a sequel. I'd like to see a well done Fallout or IWD 3.

I can be reasonably assured that neither woman will come here. It has, however, been a huge burden on me for several months. It's like coming out of a small, dark cave into the sunshine. Anyhow, you can comments on my dirty little secret, but you should post one of your own, julian! Come one, be brave!

I fell in love with a woman other than my wife. With equal measures of luck and determination, I have managed to remain true to my wife, whom I love dearly.

ahh, Sweet Caroline. Great song.

Gromnir's even more ancient than me! Ha! Even Better Fun! I think the poll would have been better to break folks into three groups: 20 or younger, between 20 and 30, and 30 or older. I still find, however, that I get angry over silly things. I still feel slighted over petty matters. I'm still embarrassed over trivialities. Apparently, we aren't somehow magically mature at the age of 30. Maybe 40. I'll find out in a few years.

Should the WHO and individual countries take steps to avert disaster? Of course. ...But should I fixate on bird flu? I dunno, but I won't. You notice that I mentioned the word pandemic in my original post. I comprehend the risks, but I also understand that, as a practical matter, my life is placed in far more danger by the circumstances of my immediate surroundings than it is by the bird flu. The factors surrounding an actual pandemic, when it finally hits, are far beyond my control. Living reasonably and within my means is a much better way to stay healthy than to retreat to the confines of my home every time there is a hint of some epidemic. SARS might have a been the one, but it wasn't. Bird flu might be the one, but it probably won't be. When the real pandemic hits, we probably won't have so much warning that we're arguing over the fact on Obsidian's message board. It will be so clear that we will be arguing how we intend to survive the outbreak rather than whether it's the real thing. ...And I agree with Hades. No, I don't think we should lie down and let so called fate roll over us. What I do think is that we can either live with realistic risk assessment or we can live in fear. Bird flu is not a huge risk at this time and nothing we, here on this board, can do will mitigate the effects at any rate. I make sure I park in well lit areas, use my turn signal when changing lanes, and look both ways before I cross a street. These steps make quite a bit more sense than the panic I see in some folks regarding a pandemic somewhere on the horizon.

Ahem, I already posted somewhere, I'm too old for this " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't be such a stoopid head!

I don't think that sums up our attitude at all... we're not as reckless as that We have a tendency to carry on with life regardless of what's happened/is about to happen/rumoured to happen etc. I'm not going to stop leaving the house because of this simply because I'm reckless or irresponsible DL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In this, we have inherited some of what is good from the United Kingdom. It is a part of life to act when you can but to endure where this is no choice for action.

Okay, we'll see how it pans out. A little back and forth isn't a terrible thing. You can't expect folks to be devoid of personality. Still, if someone is genuinely upset, give them a chance to calm down.

I can see you're a big Opeth fan. Does anyone else read the lyrics and imagine different stories to fit them?

Baley, you doofus, don't advocate violence, anarchy, or mayhem on a national scale. Post deleted and I've got an eye on you, young man.

Yes, Baley gets the nod for re-starting a WoT classic. draakh kimera could not have known what a hit his thread would be when the original made it to 72, topping the all time thread length hall of fame. Since then, the very same topic has passed the 40 page marker. Now, friends, can we keep it going for another 40 pages? I think we can! Baley gets the nod, as I'd like to rotate the thread starter. Good listening. Right now, I'm listening to "You've lost that loving feeling" by Hall and Oates. In the words of the song, "Bring back that loving feeling!"

I deleted Angel of Death because of its graphic nature. Keep them coming, though, and I'll try to be judicious in what I delete.
