I cannot believe the nonsense I read around here. So I'll just have to write some. I think the sheep are cute. I've always thought of them as nice, fluffy little beasts. ...And I love lamb chops. This topic is getting out of hand. Please return to the flock before I'm forced to shear this thread.

Another problem solved by members helping members. As we can all see, Mr. numbers is a cowboy with mad skillz.
-
Good luck, Mus. I guess you guys can continue this weird on-topic, off-topic discussion of board fixation. Please, however, play nice with one another. There is room for all in our little happy family, including my friend Jodo.

But the #1 reason that CRPGs aren't dying...
Cantousent replied to Yst's topic in Computer and Console
I think there will always be a place for the independent developer, just as there is a place for the independent producer in films. Sure, they don't get the major share of the market, but they still have a place. Folks still watch the films and enjoy them. I'm not worried about RPGs dying. I've heard far too many times that RPGs were on their way out. Hell, I've even heard that RPGs were gone for good. We'll continue to have RPGs, western, Japanese, and otherwise. -

Wake Me Up When September Ends -- Green Day -
Go to lunch with a friend and talk about hockey instead of reading about it.

Okay, this topic is ridiculous, spam ridden, not constructive, and filled with violent references to stabbing and beating. I must close it. First, however, I feel compelled to give my take. hahahaha My first real girl-friend was a French foreign exchange student who came over to spend time with my sister. Ahhhh, older women. If you start dating your sister's friends, she'll be so angry she won't worry about the computer. That, or she'll get so angry she'll pour Mountain Dew. Of course, since you'll be dating your sister's friends, you won't have time to play computer games anyhow. Hook up with one of her rich friends who has a computer for you to use... and a car.

I'm listening to the lovely sound of the gardeners. I need to stick my head in a bucket of cold water. If you'll excuse me... -
But the #1 reason that CRPGs aren't dying...

I think having the storage capacity to install an entire game is a benefit. Maybe it's not everything, but it does make a difference. What makes a huge difference for me are the controllers. The controllers just suck compared to a keyboard and mouse. On the other hand, I love being able to sit back on my favorite chair and play a game on the xbox. -
Gotta love that engine. I just bought the DOOM 3 expansion. I'm not terribly impressed so far. I find it just a little too cramped and dark for my tastses. Talk about a fear of cramped places. The open spaces of the HL2 expansion beckon to me.

Get back to your fangirl discussing ways.

Recently, I closed a topic that you'd started. I thought my reasons need not be stated. In fact, I'm not acting alone. I'm part of the moderator team, and the whole team has considered your thread. Since I know that Fionavar has been in contact with you, I will simply allow the two of you to correspond on this matter. However, do not post in Obsidian General regarding a thead closure. Please feel free to PM me regarding threads I close. I am willing to discuss these issues with members. I hope to be accessible.

But the bottom line is that this Moore fellow still has the use of his limbs. That's good to hear. Anyhow, I didn't mean to boggart the thread. I was just curious.
-
You know, on second thought, I have to remove that movie. It's clearly violence, which is a no-no under the forum guidelines. The first video, from the first post, shows that the fellow is okay. I'm going to edit out the latest video, but not the references. ...And I believe, although I can't speak for my numbered friend, that he meant that you posted in a very old and "dead" thread. That's thread "necromancy." It didn't have to do with the images in the video.
-
Necroposting?! hahahaha Comedy. Well, the thead is still active. If we all play nice, it can go another 35 pages and get into the thread length hall of fame.
-
I take it, then, that Chris A. likes to talk about himself? Who is Chris A., anyhow? :D

One of the side effects of reading all the threads in WoT is that I get to know a bunch of weird trivia. This Bertuzzi/Moore incident isn't trivial, I know, but I'm curious if Moore is permanently disabled now or can he at least lead a normal life? ...And I agree with both sides, Hockey is a rough sport where folks expect fights in every game. ...But I also agree that punishing Bertuzzi looks like as good a place to start smacking down the offenders. There's a difference between fighting on the ice and trying to kill the other players. Just my thoughts.

I got a Feelin' - Billy Currington -
I actually liked the show with the talking car when I was younger.

Fair enough, fellows. It's one of those things that really suck. You don't want to give up beef, but you always wonder what you're going to get. Hell, you have to worry about the randomness of life all the time these days. Beef. Water. Car accidents. Hell, each other. What can we do? There're too many things we have to track these days. There are too many things that distract us. What's worse, not knowing what the perils are, or knowing the perils, such as mad cow disease, and not being able to do much about it?
-
I wonder if that's how folks feel about Cricket in England. You know, I prefer to watch football also. I'm not much for watching sports, but I remember being overseas when the... hmmm.... Bengals? played the 49ers. Montana won the game in the last minute. You don't have to like sports to have a fond memory about them. 20 guys in a bunker with cigarette smoke hanging a foot off the ceiling and nothing to do but hear the score from time to time. That's one football game I won't forget. I guess I can understand loving a sport even if you don't like to watch it.
-
It occurs to me that we're off topic. How much topic can the fruit of the loom fruit generate? Maybe this should be the mad cow/generic fruit thread?
-
You know, folks are absolutely silly about mad cow disease. What are the chances of getting mad cow disease as opposed to other forms of food poisoning? What about driving? Do the people who rail about mad cow disease drive every day? ...And yet your chances of dying in a traffic related accident are astronomically higher than your chances of contracting mad cow disease. The fact is that we cannot remove all risk from our lives and it makes no sense to pretend that spending ourselves into poverty will result in zero risk. I'm not attacking you, LadyCrimson. You have a right to your cares and concerns. Sometimes our cares are completely warranted and sometimes they are not. I despise roaches of any kind, probably as a result of living with roaches in my impoverished youth. (Some of the roaches were two legged, just as an aside.) So, I have a strong aversion to them and hate them. ...But it's not as if they should generate so much anxiety in my life. I'm not saying mad cow disease isn't an important issue or that we should ignore it. What I am saying is that it's easy to point the finger over here at the United States of America, but it doesn't mean that your way is better. I just had steak tonight. I have beef quite a bit. I'm more worried about E.coli.
