  1. You know, gooseberries do look a lot like grapes. It all makes sense now.
  2. Yeah, well, it's been a good run, but we've gone from heartthrobs, to eating utensils, to HoffSoap. Someday, we'll revisit this thread and bask in the glow of remembrance.
  3. Okay, fight about the sub, at least, and not each other. Good grief. We only have so long before this whole episode with the sub turns into a made for TV movie. Then there won't be any way to know what really happened.
  4. Along those lines, I've been thinking that games like Gauntlet, where the PC version is almost an afterthought, might not be better off sticking to a single platform until they sell. Gauntlet didn't go up in flames, as Darque rightfully says. The PC version was cancelled. Is that a comment about PC v Console, Midway's finances, or Midways strategy for marketing games to consoles?
  5. CoV keeps chugging along. CoH has introduced a PVP arena, capes, respeccing, and a bunch of other goodies. I haven't playe for a while. I'm currently trying my hand at Guild Wars. So far, it's interesting, but I haven't got much by way of powers, so it's not all that. I hope, after I get a few levels, that it will come into its own.
  6. Yeah, that's the sad fact. The ocean is a dangerous place. We'll never know about the Kursk, but you're probably right.
  7. With all the angst and animosity in the world, it's good to see folks help each other. Seven men owe their lives to the British sailors who rescued them. The rescue was carried out by means of remote guided craft. Notice the contrast between the this experience and the Kursk experience where over a hundred sailors died because the Russians did not want to solicit aid. It's good to see the United Kingdom make the news for reasons other then the war on terror. As a matter of fact, I'm sure some of the men in that submarine were rather terrified. 8. I tell you what, I jumped up right away to shoot that little swine hearted schoolgirl. By the time I had my weapon ready, she had just disappeared. When I got to the bottom and turned to see the murderous fellow, I actually had time to put several rounds through his chest before he disappeared. If I were better, the shots would have been through his head. Anyhow, slowmo is cool, but it's not as awesome as the slowmo in Painkiller. On the other hand, the FEAR demo had a huge selection of weapons for such a small area. I liked the ending, where I also put a few slugs into the bad guy before the demo ended. I wonder if he killed me and that's what ended the demo. I didn't see myself taking any damage, but he looked like a real bruiser. I wonder if he managed to get a one shot kill on me. The game is spooky. I might have to buy it.
  9. Well, there's a chance I'll pick up the title. I tend to like BG:DA style games, golf games, and role playing games like KotOR1/2 and Jade Empire for the console. I haven't tried a game like Ghost for the xbox yet, so I don't know what to expect. Still, a good game is going to be... well... good, regardless of platform. Holy consoles, Batman!
  10. Then why didn't you report it?!? :D Okay, I agree that this thread is silly, but it doesn't appear any more silly than the previous thread. It doesn't appear any sillier on page 24 than it did on pages one, ten, or twenty. It's just a silly thread. Lindsey whatsherface is a legitimate heartthrob. I can believe that mkreku would be a fanboy. Of course, now that Authority and I are using the 40 page threshhold for the thread length hall of fame, it might not get another award. In the meantime, I'm hoping for another twenty pages of fangirl/boy goodness. Oh, by the way, Annah is totally hot. Anyone who cannot see that is simply not thinking clearly. :Eldar'sleeringatacartooncharactericon:
  11. Dream of the Blue Turtles -- Sting I especially love "Moon Over Burboun Street."
  12. Holy cow, so untrue, Darque. Consoles aren't better gaming machines. I enjoy my xbox, don't get me wrong. I've been impressed by the Game Cubes and PS2s I've played. ...But my computer has better games.
  13. Nathaniel, I sure hope you find the rig killing bugs before I do! hahahaha. okay, okay, I just hope they don't kill your computer before you find them.
  14. All moderators use their discretion. Folks are usually chosen as moderators because of their discretion. Sometimes, our discretion isn't very discrete. I understand frustration with some decisions. I've made some myself and thought better of them later. Still, threads of this nature don't tend to do very well. I'd honestly suggest PMing the moderator in question. I think all of the moderators here are willing to engage in candid discussion regarding decisions. If you still feel as if you simply cannot discuss the issue with the moderator in question, then feel free to discuss the issue with Hydrogen or Fionavar. Technically speaking, Fionavar is in charge of the moderator team. He is a man of imminent reason, and so I expect that he would give you a fair hearing. We moderators put our decisions in our own forum for discussion, so don't think that we turn our backs on trying to do the best we can by this board. Please try the steps I've outlined above. I'm locking this thread simply because it's always been the custom to deal with these issues in private on every board for which I've been a moderator. Don't take it to mean that I'm not willing to talk to you through PMs.
  15. I wonder if the poor guy appreciates everyone speculating on his luck. At least I was careful not to point out his bad luck even in my critical threads. At any rate, I don't see how he could possibly be blamed for this business with Gauntlet. After all, it looks like MIdway was having problems long before Sawyer showed up at the doorstep. Obsidian had KotOR 2 and is developing NWN 2. I think Sawyer's luck is about to change. I hope so, if only because I want to see good games. Hell, I hope he has good luck because he seems like a decent enough fellow and I hope he does well. I hope the whole company does.
  16. I'm going to have to buy the expansion. Not being forced to run STEAM everytime I boot my computer makes DOOM3 a great choice, although I played and enjoyed both game greatly upon release. I think HL2 was a better title, but I liked DOOM3 quite a bit.
  17. I'm going to prune all references to trolling out of this thread. Please, folks, please don't ruin a great discussion by baiting each other and being nasty. Discuss hockey. Don't pretend that you're playing it in this thread.
  18. Ahh, Infocom! If only the rumors turn out to be true.
  19. Well, I hope you enjoyed your birthday, Baley. Hope the year treats you well.
  20. At any rate, everyone, I'm afraid I'm Dr. Manhattan, not Hydrogen. If there's anyone to blame for the current state of affairs, please look to me. Much as I'd like to shove it all off on someone else, it's alllllll Eldar. Now, as for rumors... Well, it's not like we wouldn't hear confirmation if KotoR 3 were actually in development. The rumors were probably harmless, but now we have a thread that will largely be nothing better than spam. I guess, however, we might as well look to see if we have any real rumors to monger.
  21. Well, if Revan said it, it must be true.
  22. That must be a real pain to launder ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> heh heh. I'm just curious as to how someone dons the outfit.
  23. I liked it better when the Thread length hall of fame was 20 pages. It wasn't nearly as exclusive. Anyhow, if I were a fanboy for a computer game character, it would have to be annah. http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/images/im...model_annah.jpg What's that silly thing you all post? :Eldar'sgrinning"Ican'tbelieveIpostedthat"icon:
  24. Normally, I'd reply to questions regarding moderator decisions with a PM. I'd also rather have questions regarding my decisions sent to me via PM. On the other hand, I will, as long as it doesn't devolve into a long discussion of my decision, give you an account of why I'm so zealous. If we take up space in the KotOR 3 suggestions thread with wild rumors, then there's going to be a good chance the threads are going to spin wildly off topic and they'll be closed. I'd rather keep these threads open and let folks discuss suggestions. The reason I was a bit stern in this case is simply because I'd already deleted a post regarding this rumor and admonished folks not to engage in rumor mongering in this thread. What I said will remain in effect for the time being. However, I honestly do appreciate folks who take the time to discuss things with me in an open and candid fashion. The only thing I ask is that you engage in this discussion via PMs so we don't derail the threads. This thread is reserved for suggestions in the hopes that, should Obsidian actually turn out to be the developer for KotOR 3, the design team maybe reads through the thread and discusses things. I can see a number of reasons to be lenient or strict regarding the decision, and I will ask my fellow mods for advice. I welcome advice via PMs from other members as well. Nonetheless, in the meantime, the rule still stands. No rumor mongering in the suggestions thread.
