  1. You mean, the holocron you can get while 'working' with Lashowe is actually Tulak Hord's holocron? Well, never thought about that actually
  2. Well, as I've said before, the problem with the characters you mention is that they are all likely to be dead. Yuthura was most likely either killed by DS Revan or else redeemed by LS Revan only to then die when Malak bombed Dantooine. Yuthura is a good character, but she is denifitely dead in one ending of K1, which makes a new character more convenient. Vandar is killed in the DS ending of K1, and even if Revan is set to LS in K2, we learn that he was killed on Katarr when Nihilus attacked... Again, while I like Vandar, it's best to let the dead remain dead. And naturally the jedi masters of K2 were killed either by Kreia (LS) or the Exile (DS), except possible for Atris, but then she survives only in the extreme happy LS ending of K2... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I ment the level of involvement, not to bring back those characters. And about Vandar, well, if he is a worthwhile addition to the game I don't see a problem with bringing him back. In Star Wars, if you don't see his body and he is important for Kotor III he is still alive. Here are some idea's A) When Revan DS: escape pod from republic warship. He is on Unknown world. B) Katarr; Visas survived. How? Kreia's comment is IMO very weak. Perhaps he is bound to her..... So there is a possibility that another one or 2 survived. C) Vandar didn't went to Katarr. Just like Atris didn't went to that place D) About my comment "if you don't see his body he is still alive". How about some kind of "impossible" escape in the book "Champions of the force" when Kyp Durron escaped in a small message cylinder before a black hole sucked him up, he also luckily evaded an explosion of a Death Star, and well, he had a few second to break some of his bones to actually fit him in that cylinder. And of course, the Millenium Falcons sensors easily picked up a 1 meter cylinder in such a large void of space. Now that's an impossible escape.
  3. I have no problem with this as an idea and has even voiced support for a non-jedi Star Wars RPG in KotOR style on these boards before, but I wouldn't want it as a chapter of the KotOR saga. The KotOR games are about the jedi - it's called KNIGHTS of the Old Republic for a reason. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't worry about him Jediphile, I tried to explain this to him and told him everything that could be done to not use force powers and equipping armor, blasters, melee weapons etc. etc. etc. but he has made up his mind anyway. I guess, don't worry, Lucasarts and whatever developer wouldn't bother. Jedi and Sith are one of THE MAJOR things which made Star wars as good as it is. And about Revan and the Exile. Well, I think that it would be a bit to complicated to have them as party members. I guess they are better suited to be in the game, surely not dead, but take up a major role like we know from: Yuthura Ban Master Vandar The Jedi masters in Kotor II Something like that. Good idea? It's quiet a job to customize them, you know.
  4. Well, maybe but no, I think you could start of with a "training saber" which indeed cannot be upgraded. Maybe you will just recieve it. Then, you start training how to build your own saber. This will be the standard Kotor I and II "lightsaber", not the short or double bladed one. And after that, you can, how about learn from Bao Dur about how to customize your lightsaber. You could customize the hilt, modify the lenght of the blade. A double phased lightsaber (Corran Horn and Gantoris) is one lightsaber type I definately want to see. And each part of the hilt should have modifications (BBD, Attack, Damage, Critical range modification, defense). I guess it is very hard to deflect a blaster bolt with a double phased lightsaber. But it has an advantage in combat against a Dark Jedi.
  5. Not really a problem, I think. Just not including Telos, Onderon and Dantooine is enough. And the future of these planets can be brought around in some way. If one of these planets do have to come into the game some way, you could have them taken over by some superior power like the Republic, the Exchange or the Sith.
  6. And (not surprisingly at all) the topic goes again to discussing Revan and the Exile and their roles in Kotor III. And like everything else, after I played the games for so many times, my opinion is that Revan is most appropriate as a LS Male, not very uncommon. And my Exile, well I see her as a DS female. But not as a true "Sith", not in any way. Her fall to the DS was only because she wanted revenge against the Jedi Counsil who exiled her, she no longer thought the way of the Jedi was appropriate. And the republic, was it such a good orginisation? No, they never helped the outer rim worlds against a Mandalorian invasion (Cathar). No, the republic didn't deserve to win! And to be honest, I think all the Jedi masters deserved death! Yeah, if they survived and stripped the exile from the force it would bring doom to Telos. And if the Exile kill them herselve, she became more powerful which is good. Enough for my rambling. More on topic, I think both the Exile and Revan should make an appearance, I don't see any problem picking a face for both characters, since, well, you have probably seen in Kotor II that there are a lot of "Exile look a likes" running around. And if you select the same face in your character selection screen, they all changed to a different face. So, picking a face and gender for both characters, I don't think it's a problem. Then the second, setting the alignment. Well, it can be arranged you know, it requires some additional lines and probably some more 'evil' voices, if you set one as DS (my exile will get it). But, nothing undoable. Third is that you can select a wide range of nationalities, white / black / asian, and people will be disappointed if an asian guy talks with a british accent, right. That's probably the hardest part, still, technology wise it can still be done. And finally, having them in your party. Well, I think it's best if they don't come into your 'party'. I mean, all the Jedi masters had a major role in Kotor II and never made it into your party. I think it should be exactly the same for Revan and the Exile. I think we have seen how well this could work with Yuthura Ban in Kotor I. Any more problems with bringing in your previous characters in Kotor III? we will see.
  7. This day will long be remembered. For once, I agree with you.
  8. So far, I don't own a console and I do not intend to buy one. If Kotor III is console only, I need to buy: A) An Xbox 360 or PS3 B) the game Expensive game I think. And a note to Judge Hades, perhaps there will be two reasons why you are not going to buy Kotor III: 1) It's a game for console you don't own (yet) 2) The game is probably without the option to play as a non force sensitive
  9. When I read this page I think there are 3 things that absolutely should be in Kotor III: The argument that you can use "the environment" as a weapon. Indeed, I like to throw footlockers and plasteel cylinders towards my opponents. The argument about the saber moves from Jedi Academy. Yes indeed. Kotor II promised us some other animations. And we got it. But it must be improved. A "trail" behind the lightsaber is a good idea I think. The lightsaber who could cut through anything. Yes, indeed. After many times, it feels completely dumb to run to two computers in the royal palace to get a door open which is used from the same material as starship hulls, ha, if that was such strong material. Or how about Uthar Wynns room in both Kotor I and II. As if you cant get through it with a lightsaber. And finally, what I would like to see is that you can pull a blaster out of your opponents hand. We see it happen so many times in the movies. It does mean goodbye to the random item generator for sure, but I think that is one of the worst things in Kotor II anyway: Dark Jedi corpse, remains, what is here? A Heavy Mandalorian Armour. O, good.
  10. didn't the settlers hate the jedi because the jedi are the ones that got malak to attack <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forget that. The Masters had nothing to do with the rebuilding. As to why not? Thats simple: You can kill them.
  11. At least the last two rumours where not some posts in a forum but an article in an Xbox magazine and one in a well known gaming site. Forum posts are bulls***. But articles in a magazine or on a website. Well, I know some of you don't agree with me, but I think these are least a lot better, and come on, there is a lot of money to be made so it might just be right. Also, I saw some post on this forum that someone was going to make a comic book for Kotor. Now then, if someone is going to write a comic book it would be quiet logical to finish the gaming series as well, wouldn't it?
  12. This sounds quiet resonable IMO. I just completed a battle on Onderon where I sided with Vaklu and negotiated with him to send all force sensitives to me so I could train them in the way of the force, not the way of the Sith, but also not the way of the Jedi. Sounds a bit "Revanish" I guess. Building an army.
  13. I do like this piece of rumour. I just hope it would make a late 2007 release, giving Obisidian (if this is true) enough time to properly finish the game. I do not really care about the combat system. Yes, it is fine by me and I don't play a Kotor game because of it's action. But it is certainly a nice addition. But I do look forward to see the more gray approach as it is written in this article.
  14. I only meant it for the start, okay, that's about 15 or 20 minutes in game time that you are a kid. I only thought about this because Jedi training should take a very long time. It is said so many times. I think it is lame if your PC takes Jedi training in a few weeks, a month or perhaps 1/2 a year at most, and then becomes a fully fledged Jedi (which is extraordinary).
  15. How about if you "start" the game, select a face, gender, class, etc. and then you wake up and oops, your PC is a 10 year old boy/girl. Next, there is a battle on your homeworld, your parents get killed. A few Sith soldiers are coming your way, pointing their blasters at you and then woosh, they are pushed away, you see no one other then ....... appearing, killing the Sith soldiers. You get to the .......... space ship, escape your homeplanet and you will be brought to a Jedi academy where you will spend another ten years of your life and then oops, the face you selected at the start will be your face from now on (or become cruel if you go DS). An idea for the start maybe, considering how long Jedi training will take.
  16. You can, so Ive read, but its limited to Iziz. Read a decent FAQ or guide about it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can. But it's not really worthwhile. You get the same answers to questions as in the begin and you can finally ask him how he became Mandalore. To do that you have to: A) When you meet Ponlar for the Second time: "Everyone Join Ponlar, the Queens reign must end". B) Agree to help Anda, and saying "I agree, Vaklu has a lot more to offer us". C) When you side with Vaklu the second time on the Merchant Quarter, say something like "You have left quiet an impression" when they talk about the Basilisks. or When you side with Talya, agree with Kreia to kill Vaklu. Order to execute him D) On the Ravager, Kill Tobin (note that Visas could make a conflict in this). Switch to one person mode and leave Visas behind a few rooms so you can take out Tobin to gain influence with Mandalore And then comes the problem. You don't have full influence! KSE it to 100 is an option if you have the PC version. It contains some more info about Revan if you push it up.
  17. There is somewhere on this forum an influence guide. But if you wish to gain full influence with your party members and turn them into Jedi, yes you do need to sacrifice some LS points to turn them, except for Atton. Okay, here goes: Turn Atton into a Jedi, you can gain some influence with him on Peragus by "agreeing" with him. Then, kill some innocents on Telos and I guess you have enough influence to turn him Sith. Bao Dur, yes you do need some LS points. Talk "friendly" to him in the Telos Academy to gain some influence. But then, on Nar Shaddaa you have the opportunity to gain DS points and gain influence. Force Persuade: "You two, give me all your credits and jump into the central pit" Handmaiden can be trained without ever leaving the Ebon Hawk. Fight against her and spend some LS points and you could train her if you are above level 18. Disciple is not difficult but indeed, you will have to sacrifice a lot of LS points to turn him Dark Jedi. If you however come with DS mastery or at least high DS, you will have Hanharr in your party. You cannot turn Hanharr into Jedi but, there is a way to gain infinite DS points, 1000 xp, +2 Strenght, -2 Influence with Hanharr when you have been to Dxun and killed Kumus with Hanharr in your party. It isn't exactly roleplaying but at least you don't have to worry about getting DS Mastery. About the Charisma, I don't really believe there to be a way to gain influence and doing cruel things at the same time. I guess influence is based on the action and the line you give.
  18. There are some problems with Revan's DS motives aren't there? The main problem being that we play as Revan in Kotor I, so we could make him/her the way we want him/her to be. There are so many choices. But no, I don't think Obsidian did a bad job with how they made Revan. About the True Sith threat though, well yes, they are the cause of the Mandalorian Wars. From the Mandalorian Wars came the Jedi Civil War. The only things the True Sith lost are the Star Forge, Sion, Nihilus, Kreia and possibly one of their academies (Malachor V). The Sith lords were not really the True Sith but I do think them allies of the true Sith since they did help destroy the Jedi Order and the Republic. And in the mean time, the True Sith could build lots of ships, weapons etc.. We don't know about armies, perhaps the sith have some kind of cloning technology, we'll see. Somehow however I don't think Revan will actually fight the True Sith Empire on his own. He probably went to the Unknown Regions to spy, collect data and when he has completed his goals, go back to republic space to make strategies to deal with this threat. And it isn't Revan's plan to go for help. That was T3-M4's plan. "But you decided to go for help anyway" is one of the lines you can say to the droid when you got the hologram of Bastila or Carth.
  19. I'll use it on anyone if he/she has an uneven number in Constitution. It is however frustrating that if you have for example a 'base' Constitution of 17 bringing it up to 18 with the Armband, that you still cannot put in those "Required Constitution: 18 Implants". Same goes for the +3 Constitution bonus for LS Mastery Jedi Sentinels.
  20. Well, it's quiet easy. You have to ask Kreia to upgrade it. Kreia can upgrade it will you are at level 33, you also have to ask it before you have found all the Masters (including Vash), after you have found all, Kreia will not upgrade your crystal any longer.
  21. Kreia probably has some part in it, that's what I think as well. In the LS ending, it should be rebuilt to accomodate the Jedi Masters. And in the DS ending, Kreia says you will find the remaining Jedi in there so there is some point in rebuilding it. Somehow I believe it is not done the normal way, it's probably done with the use of the Force.
  22. Anyone any idea's what or who actually rebuilts the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine in Kotor II? First, we go in to the enclave sublevels and see that it's partly be broken apart by Darth Malak. Then we leave the academy's sublevels and we go to rescue/attack/leave Vrook, save/destroy Khoonda and we move off planet to find another Jedi Master or 2. When we are playing DS, we kill all the Jedi Masters so they cannot be the one's that rebuilt the Jedi Enclave. Kreia is with you all the time, Mical either joins you or stays behind to inform Carth/Cede about the Exile. That leaves either the Salvagers or perhaps some Republic construction workers who are rebuilding this enclave after you solve the problems on Dantooine. And I don't suppose the salvagers will have any interest in rebuilding the enclave so, anyone any bright idea's?
  23. I see that after my post there are some others who would like to see Juhani back. That's good. Now, how about bringing back our favorite Jedi Master: Master Vandar! And in case someone thinks Master Vandar died in either: A) The attack on the Star Forge (Revan DS) B) On Katarr No, unfortunately you are not right. In case A) He used a minature version of an escape pod and in case B) He either didn't went to Katarr or he survived in the same way that Visas Marr did. I have read an idea that they were hiding in a force sensitive cave (like on Dantooine) and that Nihilus could not use his power to kill anything in such a cave. Now, who would love to see Vandar as your new Jedi Master? Me, for one!
  24. To play the Exile, to import the character you created in Kotor II, he/she is allready very powerful. It is better to begin with a level 1 to (if needed) maximum level 4 character. Other than that, the story is quiet all right. On the moment I am reading a lot of Fanfic on www.kotorfanfic.com . One story that I do think is quiet realistic is from DarthMichael Webpage for his fanfic All the main characters are back. Some new good characters are in there. I guess it might be a good idea to incorporate some of this story to the new game. It has almost everything: Good romances, also between other characters, missions, an all out war. Commanding an entire fleet. Perhaps it would be a nice idea to be a General on a cpaital ship for a moment to make a critical decision in the game. Anyway, I would recommend anyone to read the long, detailed storyline. Off course, due to the flexibilty of Kotor we could not completely write this storyline to the game, Pretty difficult to let Revan Jr, obviously the main character fall to the DS, there are however nice elements which should be in Kotor III.
  25. I think this poll has some characters in it who couldn't return: Darth Malak Master Vrook Trask Who do I want back? Yes, I am different: JUHANI! Why is there no option to select her?
