  1. Yes, I understand that it would be quiet realistic to dump unimportant stuff in containers on the Ebon Hawk but indeed, the storyline is the most important thing in a game. Have good characters, have Revan and the Exile in it and be able to customize them. Better Graphics / customizable lightsaber hilts / hooded robes etc. allthough nice to have are just luxury game additions which shouldn't be the main focus of Kotor III. Playing Kotor to me is just like being a movie where you decide what happens which is why I still prefer Kotor I to II.
  2. Only after they have completed the Knights of the Old republic series. I would rather first finish this trilogy before starting the next one (Imagine what it would be like if Lucas decided to not bring out Return of the Jedi and first bring out either the Phantom Menace or maybe Vector Prime, the movie. Me too....
  3. To get back to the options in the poll, I like the idea of having Revan spy on the Sith or have initiated a civil war among the True Sith. Personally, I have the opinion that Revan started this Sith Civil war during the Jedi Civil War, before the events of Kotor I and when he/she returned to the unknown (after Kotor I) found out that his/her plans were discovered and the only thing he/she could do is spy on them. To do that best however, he/she needed someone else to spy on them since Revan would have been recognized by the True Sith masters and the new Dark lord, the bad guy we should kill in the end of a possible Kotor III who has "promised a great reward to whoever destroys Revan". How much I liked that line in Kotor I. Allthough I think it is a pretty good idea to have Revan sacrificing him/herself to the DS so he/she can wear a mask to make it pretty easy for the Devs to implement Revan into Kotor III I wouldn't exactly like it to have to kill Revan in the end because he/she became the new Dark Lord. Okay, we could maybe finish LS and defeat Revan and make him/her unconscious for those of us that would like to let him/her alive or perhaps let Revan live and serve under him/her as the Dark lords apprentice. I wonder what's best?
  4. You two must hate the turret game with the Sith fighters in Kotor I right?
  5. You can fix up the exile & revan's allignment when you supposedly talk w/the council. I just have to remind everyone this is just a RUMOR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, that's a relief.
  6. Nice 'rumor' Darth Jarize, but I don't think it's true. And if it is, it a bit of a shame really. My exile is DS. And, what if Revan was DS, is Carth replaced by Cede then? Anyway, if this is true then I want to be able to choose the Exile to be DS so I can become a Sith.
  7. What kind of bothers me is that LA as far as I know never bothered to make a Freelancer / Privateer / X style game in the SW universe. Fly to all your favourite planets. Buy tons of Water on Manaan and sell it on Tatooine. Become a bounty hunter, side with the Republic / Rebel Alliance or side with the Sith / Empire. Fly different space ships depending on who's side you are. Visit your favourite planets. But I doubt it is ever going to happen.
  8. Yes, I think it messes up, just for gameplay and engine reasons. Energy and Melee shields Stealth field generators the Ebon Hawk the Leviathan All melee weapons are equipped with Cortosis weaves the Star Forge How about all those technological droid stuff on Nar Shaddaa and Goto's yacht, the cloaking device. But yeah, it is screwed up allready so why don't they improve it. Hmm, now I remember seeing Stealth field generators way back in Battlestar Galactica, never in Star Wars. That's where they stole it from
  9. I think I will try ones to end up with an absolute grey alignment. Like when you have 50 in the goodevil meter in KSE. See how that would work. Hmm, maybe the game crashes then??!! Or would there be an hidden ending? Probably not.
  10. That was just the standard issue Imperial Blaster Rifle. For Jedi it would maybe be all right to use Stasis to capture your targets.
  11. We don't have to let the PC go bounty hunting with bounty hunter weapons when a Party member could handle this. If a Jedi needs to capture a target alive he/she would stasis an opponent. Besides, how strange is it for a Jedi to go swoop racing and play pazaak?
  12. Very good questions AP-76. I would certainly try to answer your questions: 1) Yes, even when DS the Exile will go searching for Revan. It is really the only real option available. The other choices Kreia offers you are not available in your end lines. So yes it will be "I will follow Revan again, as I did a decade ago". 2) That might be Atton and Bao Dur. All the others except Mandalore depend on your gender and alignment (Mira / Hanharr / Handmaiden / Disciple). And Mandalore only came with you to reunite the clans and destroy the Ravager. 3) That's doubtful to me as well, yes. That's why my character is very different. Okay, I guess I could openly tell that Revan and the Exile will find you! 4) No: Kavar, Vrook and Zez kai Ell are dead. Bastila is an option (if you set Revan as DS she will further train you as a Sith). The Architect (from this forum) is working on that idea to make a story. 5) Revan left the republic to defend it against the True Sith. He went out himself to spy on them and not place his friends in danger (His friends provide a weakness and the True Sith will go after them in stead of going after him). 6) It all could be written in really. We could also only assume what had happened to well: Cariaga Sin Talvon Esan Nisotsa Xaset Terep Now, do you recognize these names? Well, they are the ones who followed Revan in the Mandalorian wars and attacked you in the tomb on Korriban. How about these characters: Bolook Deesra They were in Kotor I, and there is absolutely no mentioning of them in Kotor II so we can only assume what happened to them. Also, you could bring back the other Jedi masters you have seen on Dantooine in Kotor I. Vrook said they went to Katarr but that's like saying that "someone" died on 911 because they thought he was in the WTC at the wrong time when that "someone" actually was somewhere else (like cheating with his wife at that time. It saved his life. You heard that story?) Another one that should be alive is Dustil Onasi. You could kill him, yes as a DS Revan but you probably didn't because you are not supposed to do that. Just like you could kill Bastila as a LS Revan but you are not supposed to. 7) Who knows. In my story, you are not going to Korriban. The 2 Sith rule was only there at the time of Darth Bane, a 900 years before Star Wars A New Hope. In my story the Exile will help Revan first and then they seperate. 9) No, not really. Plageuis was the master of Palpatine. Palpatine speaks of himself killing his master in his sleep. I think it would be a little strange to have Revan live for a 4000 years, right! :D 10) Nothing is impossible right. But maybe Plageuis has learned the technique from Revan or the Exile. How about that? You could build up quiet a story yes. As to your first questions on this page. I am sorry to not know much about that. But I guess this helps.
  13. I would like to give a more serious comment on AP 76's first post about the storyline without quoting your entire post I agree with you that the storyline is no doubt the most important thing there is in a Kotor game. It is true that it could be difficult to finish off the storyline of Revan / the Exile and the others and that is why Lucasarts should allow Obsidian (or possibly another dev) to take a lot more time this time then it had with Kotor II because they got a big job to do. Now, I think a prequel can be done but I don't think there are that many gamers waiting for a prequel since that will just show the Devs incompetence not to be able to build a more difficult storyline and the fact that we do know where the story ends (Revan and Malak will fall to the DS and find the Star forge). I would like to play this game, sure but I think it would be better served when it is for example an action game like Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast or maybe a battlefront game or something like that, I don't know. There are many possibilities. Now, why I think a finishing storyline would be all right. Well, I did build a short storyline idea which will make it possible to set: 1) Revan and the Exile's appearance / alignment etc. practically everything. 2) To start with a new character who has a lightsaber right at the start 3) This new character could also be a different species. You want to play as a Twilek, Cathar, Zabrak, Rodian? You could 4) Have quiet a few ending possibilities. Not just a LS and a DS ending but you can determine who will live and who will die. Influence is very important here and also what you have done about Revan and the Exiles alignment. I could PM this toryline proposal to you. And it is my belief that if I could make a working storyline then I am sure a professional writer can surely put together a good one.
  14. I assure you, this is my first time here. I guess there was a previous Hades who spoiled the good name? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showuser=199 Most annoying dude ever. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is why I clicked on Ignore User for that character. No, if Darth Hades was the same person we would surely recognize it. Judge Hades quotes in this topic: I wish Kotor III has the option to play as a non force user I think Kotor III shouldn't be made if there is no option to play as a non force user. Me: "Why don't you then strap yourself in an Armor, equip a blaster / vibroblade and select force powers which are restricted by Armor" Judge Hades: "I don't metagame, and that is no roleplaying at all" From his 11134 posts I have only found 1 post that I agree with. And he is probably never serious. No, Darth Hades is surely not him.
  15. I could also add to number 3 that we see admiral Dodonna in Kotor I, yes but we also see Mon Mothma in the OT and EU as either the leader of the rebel alliance or the chief of state. Note that Leia was also a long time the chief of state. No, females are making quiet a big role in SW. To Darth Hades response. It is my opinion all right, but I also think that a game set in "the past" is probably not so good. Stay with the council. Stay LS? Or go with Revan. Do the right thing IMO and fall to the DS except of course that you then discover that you are the Exile..... Well, I wonder how a really good storyline would be build up. I guess you could keep in mind that we allready know quiet a bit about what happened prior to Kotor 1 don't you think?
  16. Nah, the LS is much stronger. The DS will rot you from within and how would you then protect yourself against a LS jedi who Master Valor himself to something much stronger? You can't. Proof in the movie Revenge of the Sith. Dooku beats Obiwan for the second time. Anakin kills Dooku. Then Anakin looses from Obiwan. The DS is so weak huh??
  17. Okay, I guess I saw a bit to much characters. Sure, Mission / Zaalbar / Jolee / Carth etc. could make cameo appearances in the next game if you set Revan as LS that is. Note that I say cameo appearances because if you make them party members again it would mean some other party members have to replace them when you set Revan as DS. I agree with you that typically Atton and Bao Dur from the second game should make a cameo appearance in Kotor III. Then again, they could either be evil or good, depending on the alignment of the Exile so, yeah maybe better to give them cameo appearances. And finally, the characters who should return in the next game: Bastila / Mandalore / HK-47 / T3-M4 Yeah, they are important in the Kotor games. HK-47 and T3-M4 certainly again as party members. About Jolee? If Revan is DS, he died. If Revan is LS, he is probably alive somewhere. He could have exiled himself again or he might be helping some group.
  18. First I guess I can make an on topic response. The problem is when you find out about Atton's past and don't train him as a Jedi it would be a problem that he could be trained by the Sith later on, when the Exile is no longer with him. And that is dangerous. About the DS / LS discussion. Well, I think a bit different because in Kotor I, I prefer the LS Revan because when you look at Revan, he was a good person before he fell to the DS. Revan was right to join the Mandalorian wars and I think he only fell to the DS because he needed an army to destroy the True Sith and because the Jedi wouldn't have supported him he fell to the DS. In Kotor I his task is to destroy the Sith and Darth Malak. Also considering his party members it is IMO more realistic for Revan to follow the Light path. Why betray a lot of your companions when you can work as a team to destroy evil from the galaxy. With the Exile though, being exiled from the Jedi Order, no one ever helped her and then Kreia's teachings I think it would be more realistic to go DS. And then you meet Atris again. Yes, DS is much more realistic in Kotor II. I also think that it would do much more good to the galaxy if you kill the Jedi masters then letting them live only so that you are a real pawn of the Jedi council. At least as a Sith you become more powerful when you kill a Jedi master. Those Jedi simply should pave the way for a better and new Jedi order.
  19. The period has been discussed pretty often and I disagree to it with a game which is set as a prequel. Why? It's because almost everyone is waiting for a game which will finish the allready set storyline. I would rather see "The Return of the Jedi of Kotor" then "The Phantom Menace of Kotor" if you understand what I mean? No prequels yet please.
  20. First of all, welcome to the forum. Secondly, to all your suggestions. Sorry to say this, but they don't work in any way. A vital aspect as to how Kotor III should be made is that we would be allowed to choose a face / gender / alignment etc. for both Revan and the Exile. Your proposal isn't really what you call an RPG when you mention large vehicles to battle. In Kotor I, I found the battle of the Star Forge an excellent example of how this should be done. Both in the LS and DS ending. Just cutscene's. Now, I am all for new games, maybe space fight games and action games as well in the Kotor period. But I wouldn't like to see your idea's happening in a Kotor III. My opinion: Stick to a good storyline with the ability to set 'everything' for your previous characters and improve influence. Those are the vital elements of a good Kotor III. Not completely new additions and a lot of returning characters. Okay, storyline based but I wouldn't like to see a storyline in which there is a focus on bringing back lots of old characters.
  21. That could work I guess but I think we could build in a Little Green Jedi in the game. No one ever said that there wouldn't be more of this species in the Kotor time. Okay, I know some of you wouldn't like to see Vandar back in the game since he would most likely be dead but then, why not bring in another LGJ (as an NPC, I guess it's a bit strange to talk to all those giants in the universe as a PC. Apart from the Jedi I think no one ever takes you seriously either. Must be frustrating.) Now, I haven't thought about the thing in the tomb. All right. It does make sense actually.
  22. I at least has a different one. Force Speed. Run like hell and slash the lightsaber to do ultimate damage. A pity that it lasts for such a short period. And when DS, combine it with Fury. Lightsaber DDDAAAMMMAAAGGGGEEEEE!
  23. I got to say that it is quiet an all right attempt. And I like it that it's build around a story in which you get to play a new character (can we play as a different species, please). It's also good that Revan and the Exile have a fixed alignment during the game and that they don't play that kind of a big role in the events. This should enable the devs to let them alive allthough I think there should be a very good reason why both Revan and the Exile are DS because at least at the end, they represent the LS but I think we could trust the pro story writers to make good reasons. I just don't like it that some people tend to say that the DS is stronger, because really the LS is much stronger then the DS. With the LS you can protect yourself against any attack a Dark Jedi makes. The Dark side hasn't got many defenses. Anyway, I like the story. Just a pity that you cannot win in the DS ending. If this is the story I want to kill Revan and the Exile when I am DS. Well, anyway. Good story. Keep it up.
  24. Well, that wouldn't work either. I admire your effort to put a story in place in 5 minutes but I guess even the most professional writer cannot make a storyline in less then a week. My opinion, (I made a storyline proposal to) is that you could set alignment and appearance, class etc. (practically everything) about our previous characters but "force" an alignment during for the course of the game. Say, you set Revan as DS in Kotor I and he/she will appear as LS in Kotor III because of some event that took place in the unknown regions. See what I mean? It would save a lot of time for the dev's to make adjustments according to alignment and it will give us the opportunity to make "our Revan's and Exile's". And then have the opportunity to get our DS Revan's fall again and to possibly redeem our LS Exile's (In my story, the Exile will fall to the DS even when he/she was LS in Kotor II).
