  1. Enough with the one line comments allready. Sure, I guess you should be able to kill Revan and/or the Exile depending on how you set their alignments and how your own alignment will be. LS versus LS isn't exactly how it works right. On the other hand, I think that only we think it is difficult to bring in Revan and the Exile in a possible Kotor III. I mean, Obsidian truely choose to make Kotor II not being based upon Revan. IMO, when Obsidian developed a story for Kotor II they allready kept in their minds that it should be followed up by a Kotor III and they hoped they could build that game as well. Now, if Obsidian did a bit of planning ahead (which I believe they did) they would know that you have two characters from your previous game to bring back. And if they don't understand that fans will be pissed off if they decide to simply kill them then they don't deserve to build another game and LA should then go looking for another Developer good enough to bring back the previous two PC's. Why build a new character in Kotor II (the Exile) when you could simply take your good old character Revan for Kotor II. Sure, they made Revan go away to the Unknown Regions and he/she could choose to be DS or LS but they could have made an import character thing right?
  2. Or Kreia's death when you play Kotor II Dark Side.
  3. Thanks for your answers. I tried my save again. My Visas has a Demolition skill of 44 and Hanharr (also in the party) of 127 and there is no line to blow up the device. A game bug indeed. Well, I always want the alarm to go off actually because I prefer a straight fight to all those sneaking around but at least we know now it doesn't work.
  4. At the moment, I am playing the Freedon Nadds tomb on Dxun. Visas has both stealth and demoltions to max so I use her to disable the mines. Now I made the option to get a detonation pack from Xarga. Can someone tell me how to use it. It is in my inventory but what do I do with it and where? Anyone experienced with this thing here?
  5. It would be a shame if they did not.
  6. Uhm, latest patch?? I never go to Dantooine before Korriban and in the Korriban Academy I always find those charges in the room you open from "Mekel's computer" :D. In Kotor I Mekel was here. There you find charges to blow open Uthars room
  7. Yeah, I understand what you are getting at. It's like you are in complete control of the conversation. You would need to build quiet a bit of text of course because it's like: Main PC gets 4 lines: A - B - C - D Revan get 4 options for A, 4 for B, 4 for C, 4 for D. Then your PC get another 4 for the 16 answers of Revan total lines are 64 for a 3 lines conversation. Could easily make a 500 lines for one conversation. Any volunteers to write a lot of lines for a Revan / Exile etc. conversations etc. It will be very complicated when your PC talks to both Revan and the Exile. But its a nice idea no doubt.
  8. I guess it's a way of what you are used to do really. I didn't have much problem with the control system on the PC but I don't own an Xbox so I don't know much about the difference. I do agree with you about the movie resolution though.
  9. I don't really think making an appearance is so complicated. In kotor II, we have quiet a few "exile lookalikes", and when you select one of their faces at the start, the faces which are similar just change to another so I think it is quiet easy to select a face at the start and that's it. Your Revan, Your Exile. It becomes more difficult to have voices for these characters (select an Asian guy who then speaks with an American accent?). Selecting a face? shouldn't be a problem. A voice for Revan / Exile? That's a little tougher.
  10. I agree with you Dace. When you compare Kotor I with Kotor II there are some things in II which improved but the let's call it experience itself was far worse then Kotor I. Sure, you got the influence system, new items, the ability to create powerful upgrades, random items, improved datapads but it was somewhat porely done and it was so very rushed. Not to mention that we had so many party members: Kreia Atton T3-M4 HK-47 Mandalore Handmaiden Mira Hanharr Visas Disciple Go-To Bao Dur Quiet a bit. Did I miss one? If there were less party members they could have made the development a lot better. So why not have less party members then Kotor I (how about 7) and truely see them develop their characters. What is better? Hiring 7 voice actors who should speak more lines or have 12 or as some suggested 20 and make them underdeveloped. I think hiring 7 for a longer time is also cheaper then hiring 20 for a short time. And about the planets? Yeah! Make them big and have a lot of time to explore, do quests and they don't have to add a planet because they think it would otherwise be a too short game. How about making use of a speeder to get from one side of the planet to the other. It would make the planet feel much more real IMO. I think you then really feel that you are on a "planet". Maybe the landscape changes. Telos in Kotor II was a good example. We need more of that.
  11. Chewbacca, note how I spell his name is by far the more intelligent wookie then the other two.
  12. That's talking about an Impossible and unoriginal story! BOEH!
  13. To add some more about him. Nihilus was spawned from the wound created by the Exile on Malachor V. How was the wound created: Every Jedi who fought on Malachor V during the mandalorian wars turned to the Dark Side. The only one who didn't: the Exile. This resulted in a wound in the force and because of that wound Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus were created. Now, it may not be exactly like that but that is what I believe happened.
  14. It would for certain not be my choice to build a story in which I would play as Revan again. Or as the Exile for that matter. Being ultra powerful is off course problem no. 1 problem. Secondly, Obsidian made the idea that Revan is "the heart of the force" while the Exile is "the Death of the Force". At least, thats what Kreia tells the Exile and IMO it would be a shame if they tell you in Kotor III that's not true. So, apart from simply fighting the True Sith I think we need to finish the paths of Revan and the Exile and playing as either "the Heart of the Force" or "the Death of the Force" would be quiet some problem. Not to mention the fact that you made some decisions in Kotor I and II, your alignment being one of the most important factors. Would someone want to start as a DS Revan and do a lot of LS acts to get LS Mastery near the end of Kotor III? Strange......
  15. I never said that I want to play as Revan or the Exile again
  16. If the devs would decide to just kill Revan, then the Architect, Jediphile, I and probably some others on this forum would be better writers then "the high paid professional storywriter" who gets the job. Off course, they have to keep in mind that the programmer(s) doesn't have to much work to do for the impatient and greedy LA. So, my answer to the question "what would you do if LA decides to kill Revan of" would be: I would be throwing bricks through the windows of the LA office. Other then that, I could add to Shadowpaladins last response: George Lucas didn't keep them in his mind when he developed Revenge of the Sith either. Suggestion: Maybe Kotor III should be developed as a mission disk for Kotor II to keep the ones who didn't play any of the two games at bay.
  17. Not sure I get your point here. It sounds like you're suggesting Revan met Exar Kun, which I doubt - The Great Sith War, which ended with Exar Kun "lost" ended more than thirty years before the Mandalorian Wars began, and Revan doesn't seem that old to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I didn't actually suggest that. Sorry that it isn't so clear. I was commenting on Suvam on the Yavin space station telling about Exar Kun being one of the worst Dark lords. You could say (as Revan) then you are the Jedi councils only hope and things like that but Suvam wasn't so impressed which to me says that Revan isn't as strong as Exar Kun.
  18. There is another thing about Exar Kun being more powerful when you go to the Yavin space station in Kotor I and ask Suvam about Exar Kun. I don't remember exactly what he said but I know he told that Exar was one to be very scared of and when Revan stood in front of him he even asked if you were a Jedi. Now, I know Suvam isn't a Jedi himself but I think it does explain something. Also, note how difficult it is as Revan to kill Malak as a Jedi consular.
  19. Ignoring the last three posts of this topic Meshugger made a post in the Kotor III suggestions thread which described an ending in which Revan destroyed a space station in which you were either on board the station (DS) and apprentice of the new Dark lord or you were on board for a time (LS), then fled the station. Revan waited for you and then destroyed the station as well from orbit. It does make some sense I guess allthough it isn't that much fun of course that in the DS ending, you are not going to win (you just escape in one of the famous escape pods). There are a lot of possibilities of course to deal with Revan and the Exile. What should be done? I'll try to come up with some good ending as well. But mentioning that you have to kill a DS Revan? Yeah, in my previous story it worked that way too. Although, yes in that attempt you could also become Revan's apprentice.
  20. I agree to that as well. There are quiet a number of combat games out there and at least in Kotor I (and in Kotor II or dif.lvl. Hard to a ceratin extent) you don't just kill everything in sight with the push of some buttons and watch the show. So turn based combat? Yeah, it's okay to stay in Kotor III. All we need is some tougher to beat opponents. Why was the Trayus academy so much easier then the Star Forge? Why was Malak so much tougher then Kreia and could Malak stun you in one attack. Why are the Terentateks and Naga Sadows tomb so much tougher then Jekk Jekk Tarr or the Royal Palace? Other then that, I have heard so many complaining about the Ebon Hawk turret gun in Kotor I each time they leave a planet. I also imagine that there are a lot of old or maybe disabled people playing Kotor. Give these people a fair chance please!!
  21. I have said it before, you could end up LS Mastery and kill all the Jedi Masters and you could also let all of them alive and get DS Mastery. It all comes down to your dialogue options and if you rather help or kill innocents. Because the game was rushed it doesn't matter at all if you choose to side with Czerka, the Ithorians, the Exchange, the refugees, Vaklu, Talya, Mercenaries, Militia. At least in Kotor I you could drop or increase your alignment very fast depending on what you choose on Rakata Prime. And, uhh, Off topic: Bingo. 500 posts!
  22. Yes, we would surely fight the true sith. The big question is, what would Revan do. Is he/she regardless of alignment destined to be the 'leader' of the republic. Will he/she defend this "thing" called the republic from the true sith for whatever his/her intention? To me, it would make every kind of sense. And if we are to play Kotor III as a new character which I and most others no doubt prefer you could end up siding with either the true Sith or Revan and maybe his/her old general, the Exile. It does open a new way of writing an easier to build storyline for our "Fathers" :D, the Game Developers.
  23. No doubt. And I also agree with the Architect and Jediphile that DS Revan shouldn't be redeemable. Another thing I am just thinking about right now is that both LS and DS Revan could have one common goal in their mind which is to wipe out the True Sith Empire. Would there be any possibility that whatever Revans alignment is, the outcome would essentially be the same? I don't know one so far but perhaps someone did.
  24. Good post Hekate. The thing you said about "what Revan started" is something I didn't think about yet. It would open the possibility that If LS Revan started a Civil war among the Sith he/she wouldn't really care about that I think. Let them fight this civil war and they would just destroy themselves which is off course a good thing. It wouldn't be a good excuse for Revan to leave all his/her friends behind to fight this threat. I guess I could write something in my storyline I currently work on as well. What Revan started............?????
  25. Would it take you five years to find something you remembered from your past? And would you then start as a level 20 Revan or somehow loose your powers again. I appreciate your opinion but I think this isn't exactly what we would like to see.
