  1. Well. It only adds an element to the story, on which you can react at. The other option would be that you are a Jedi who isn't related to anyone. And then you have 3 very powerful Jedi in the galaxy. Revan, the Exile and you, the third character who is like, pick one: Kyp Durron Corran Horn Tahiri Veila Kyle Katarn Jaden Korr Mara Jade Anyone else not related to another but very powerful from the new Jedi Order? I don't really have a problem with these characters but if we could for instance play as the son of Darth Malak, it gives you a reason to want to go DS or that you want to find Revan. In Kotor I, I didn't really saw reason to go DS. In Kotor II, I did see reason for it. And now that I mention it. If I got a build a story concerning the role of the son of Malak, I don't think I would want to reveal it as a surprise mid game. Maybe for a chance it is better to say about it at the start. Maybe your character allready knows and wants to go after Revan. To either take revenge or to ask why he killed your father.
  2. I guess I have to make another post to explain something here. To Jediphile about being the child of Saul Karath: Well, I like it but I think it cannot be executed that well because of the Carth 'problem'. And about the Mandalorian Jedi. Well, it should be done in another way. I don't think it would be good to fight for becoming Mandalore. Maybe you could begin to know more what is the difference between a Mandalorian and a human. And why your people attacked the republic. But somehow I think this role would be better served as a role for a party member. Not for the main character. Still I guess there would be ways to make the main character the mandalorian Jedi, but to fight for the title of Mandalore? No, in Kotor III we should fight the true Sith. And to Architect. Thanks for your votes. I'll put your votes in 5 and 15. Okay, I guess that's all right. Everyone gets 2 votes. Poll standing: Darth Malak's child 5) 2 Saul Karath's child 15) 2 I will post this poll in the Bioware boards today as well and maybe also on other Kotor related forums.
  3. But Carth IMHO would have to be made an important person in that game so I think it would be bad if you select Revan to be DS and the whole "Carth killed your father out of revange" should then be skipped. I don't suppose you would like a storyline and the quest "find Carth Onasi" would take up just a few minutes do you? I mean, finding a republic admiral is no easy task and it would be bad if the game just covers it up with "the Lonna Vash" strategy.
  4. Well, I guess the story would be more difficult to build if Revan would be DS in Kotor I (you cannot avenge Carth as he is death). It's just not good to build more plots then one.
  5. First of all thanks for your vote and input Jediphile. A comment I have about this is that I really don't like that: "the DS is more powerful, willingly falling to the DS to fight the true sith" Because, really, the DS isn't more powerful. The DS will only give you power to destroy things. And the LS: It gives you power to protect yourself against anything (Force armour / Energy resistance and the universal powers like Force Immunity) And Revan could win a battle against a 100 Dark Jedi / Sith soldiers and droids where the Dark side is very strong (the Star Forge). Well, okay. Enough about DS / LS discussion. About Revan and the Exile. I guess The Architects poll does show that the majority of us want to have them to be alive in Kotor III so they are very important. About being Revan or Malak's son/daughter. I think the timeline would be like this: 7 years before Kotor I (I think) - Revan, Malak, the Exile and a lot of Jedi join the republic in the mandalorian wars. 4 years before Kotor I - The mandalorians were defeated. Revan and Malak will begin their search for the star forge 3 1/2 years before Kotor I - The Jedi Civil war. Telos is attacked by Darth Malak. 0 - Kotor I 1 year after Kotor I - Revan leaves for the unknown regions 5 years after Kotor I - Kotor II So in theory, Revan or Malak's son / daughter could be about 11 years old by the events of Kotor II. Then, you could set Kotor III another 6 years later so Revan or Malak's son/ daughther would be about 17 years old. I guess that's an acceptable age for our main character now, would it? Maybe you could make him/her in the game a bit older like 21 after he/she get a long Jedi training.
  6. I would go for option 3. In my story I made a reason to make Revan be LS for the duration of Kotor III (Even if he/she was DS in Kotor I) and make the Exile go DS (Also if he/she was LS in Kotor II)
  7. Well, it was sooner then I said before but here is another poll: Who would you want to be in Kotor III: 1) Revan 2) The Exile 3) Revan
  8. I think you meant to say Not in stead of Now. Am I Right?
  9. Well, okay. All I meant to say that whatever it is; Ragnos' scepter / valley of the jedi combined with artusian crystals. It has been done in two games. I wouldn't mind it but I think, because it has been done twice allready, the game wouldn't score so well. Just my idea. But perhaps you could say if anyone else would be able to use the pure force energy or that it is you, the chosen one if I can say so, who was the only one who could use it and that the energy then dissappears (in your body)?
  10. Never really read it :"> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "How about the game starts and you have no affinity to the force whatsoever but along the way you get caught in a special force anomaly, a zone of super concentrated force energy. This energy is absorbed by your body and you become ultra powerful but the powers are chaotic and you can't wield them properly for a while, until you find a Master that will help you control your new powers. So for a while in the game, you could have lighting bolts randomly shooting out of your fingers or force jumping for no reason or having dozens of people stunned around you from all the mind tricking. And then you could have a choice of either trying to keep your powers under control until you find another Jedi (LS) or let them all out and indulge in some chaotic destruction (DS)" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, actually then you are one of those "Reborns" or "Disciples of Ragnos", just like some of us have battled in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. I don't think that would be a good idea for a Kotor game. Everyone would allready guess that the True Sith would find it too and O, yes, you will have to go up against an army of Dark force users. Well, anyway, I think I will make a poll, like The Architect did about Revan and the Exile, I will make one about our preferred next character. We will see which is most popular. I'll post it tommorow I think.
  11. Be creative astr0creep. If your a lightisider, then you'll want to learn more about why Revan killed your father and Revan will fill you in, and you won't have to fight him/her but if your a darksider, you'll want to kill Revan out of revenge. What's the point of making it an RPG if you don't have these kind of choices? Variety, replayability and decision making is what the foundations of these games are built upon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. Well, I certainly would like to read your story around Malak's son. But do us a favour and think about a role for "the mother" as well. Maybe she is dead but she could also fill up a major role in the game.
  12. Then you can forget about playing as another species. Or as a Jedi since revenge obviously leads to the Dark Side. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Off course you can still choose to follow the light path and not kill Revan. Remember it is an RPG. But it is true that you can then forget to play another species if you are to play Malak's child. That's why I think of it as options: A) Revan's child B) Malak's child C) Just another Jedi (other species)
  13. Off course not. @ The Architect / Nartwak / Astrocreep and maybe others. Do you want me to become the storyline writer of Kotor III? I suppose if you and another 97 forummers are vouching for it that I become the writer Obsidian will employ me. Well, I don't need a high salary.....
  14. You could be Revan's child if you are born during the Mandalorian Wars for example. It would take up the "revan lost his memory" strategy. Personally, I think being another nobody would be all right IF you would be able to play as another species. I mean, a lot of people would like to have this option. Play as a Twilek, Zabrak, Cerean, Chiss, Cathar, Rodian? One other idea I thought about is that you could play as the child of Darth Malak. It would make a good reason to want to avenge Revan for killing your father.
  15. That is how I played Kotor2 for the first time. They punished me for it quite hard... (not being able to kill Kavar/Vrook) and loads of LS points for defending Khoonda... even if my intention was that they should be used as cannon meat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you want to help the republic on Dantooine but you want to kill Vrook, you can. Just tell the mercenaries that you want to kill Vrook. You then fight the mercenaries. Then Vrook comes out of his cage and you fight him. You get back to Khoonda. Then you say you help them. The only thing that actually matters here is that after you have done some things you go to Zherron and tell him you are ready (notice that Vrook isn't in Khoonda then). In the fight with Azkul you tell him that you are not letting him kill Adare. You kill the mercenaries. Then after the battle you get congratulated by Adare and then, surprise, Vrook appears and you can kill him. Saved Khoonda, jippie, killed another Jedi Master, jippie. Got a Jedi Masters robe. Then go wear it when you help the republic and Thalya. Bad thing that it isn't "Vrook's robe" so Kavar would recognize it and you could kill him too. By the way, it is perfectly possible to gain DS mastery while helping the Ithorians on Telos, the refugees on Nar Shaddaa, the Khoonda militia on Dantooine and Queen Talya on Onderon. Yeah, you got to kill a lot of innocents, that's right.
  16. Yeah... Though I would have welcomed the chance to tell the jedi council just what I think of their deception and manipulation... PS: Been meaning to ask for while now, where did you get that avatar? It looks awfully familiar somehow... :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I made the avatar myself. To get it, I gained full influence with HK-47 in a LS game: 1: Tell him you killed the Mandalorians on purpose 2: Kill Kumus on Dxun with only HK in the party. (You only get DS points here) 3: Force persuade the soldier on Onderon who has "questions" 4: Tell Ponlar the second time "Everyone join Ponlar, the queens reign must end" (You can still fight for Kavar and Talya one's you have done that, you can only fight for Vaklu if you removed one of the captains from there posts). You then have 100 influence over HK and then you can take a screenshot of him while he has almost LS mastery. Yeah, he still likes to kill everything but he has LS mastery.
  17. Well, in Kotor I it is definetly LS. I don't like playing DS in Kotor I since you have to do those really terrible things to those who did so much for you. In Kotor II however, a lot of my characters are DS. Probably because I don't like it to be a pawn of the Jedi Council who either exile you or want to cut you off from the force.
  18. So we are down to Jedi Council members now, right. Anyway: Masters Deesra, Bolook, Chodo Habat LSF Exile: Added by Mical LSM Exile: Added by Brianna An optional for a LS Exile: Atris LS Revan: Added by Bastila and Juhani Optionals: Kel Algwinn and Yuthura Ban If both Revan and Exile are DS it is only Deesra, Bolook and Chodo Habat Yes, the largest Council would be 9, but you can bring it down to just 3.
  19. I like to come back to Dvan story proposal. I think the main problem here is the way you return so many NPC's. They couldn't simply be replaced by new one's since they have such an amount of involvement. And I see a second problem as that you don't have good opportunities to go DS as your main character. Setting Revan and the Exile to a default is also not the way it should be IMO. According to the appearance of Revan and the Exile, I think that you should be able to set them to DS or LS and pick faces. I have just seen some way (I developed some story) in which you could make Revan LS (even after he/she fell to the DS in Kotor I) and the Exile DS (also after you choose him/her to be LS in Kotor II) for the Kotor III game itself. Maybe I could place this storyline on this forum but wouldn't that ru
  20. Stop your whinging jackass. Did you even see the choices available for my poll? What your basically saying to me is that you'd go for the "g" vote which is not to kill off Revan and the Exile, but for them not to make appearences either. And don't be a gullible fool and assume that I want to see or play as Revan and the Exile in K3 because I don't, but I don't want them killed off either. And if you've got a problem with my poll, get over it, stop your bloody complaining, it's just a poll for Pete's sake. Anyway, I'm adding new suggestions to my poll anyway, so I could just include yours. My poll does not suck though, I had to include even the options I don't like in my poll because some other people like them, as you can see, every letter has gotten at least one vote. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And it is done in a fair way Eras Jast. If Obsidian just wouldn't lock any Kotor III topic or poll other then this one there would have been a poll. So Architect just made the only possible Kotor III poll on this forum.
  21. Well yes, but when I post a thing like that on this forum, almost nobody cares. It's a waste of time writing a thing like that. To Weiser_Cain. Sorry but I don't think I understand what this is all about. And this pilot/tech specialist/fringer thing? I always say, forget it. There are enough choices to be made in the game and the non jedi thing is just for people who have played the game a 1000 times and are tired of being a Jedi / Sith. Go strap yourself in an armor and equip a blaster. Then play the game.
  22. Exactly. Same combat system isn't really neccesary as long as it is good system and it could be handled by people who are aged 50+. Not that I am one myself but I remember when people complained about the Turret game in Kotor I. That's one good job Obsidian did when they made all mini games optional. I often let all the sith troopers board the Ebon Hawk on Peragus so I will get some new items and a lot of XP. T3 is on that moment the best party member you can use for this task. Okay, some other things I would like to see are: - Customizable lightsaber hilts. - A Yoda/Yaddle/Vandar species as a party member. - Realistic grenades / rockets and mine damage. In Kotor I and two you could just stand there and walk through them and loosing maybe 1/6 of your vitality on level difficult. Not realistic. - How about the often rumoured group stealth. - If there are new force powers I want to be able to force throw. I would like to throw footlockers / plasteel cylinders and maybe computer consoles to opponents. Off course they should also be able to throw them to you.
  23. You can find out much more about the Chiss in the New Jedi Order series. They are indeed a species which lives in the unknown regions so it would make quiet a bit of sence if they play some role into Kotor III. You also might want to find out more about Jag or Jagged Fel, his father Soontir Fel. They are some characters who appear in the NJO. I guess it's also not a bit of spoiler is that Jag Fel is the friend of Jaina Solo. The Chiss capital is I believe Csilla. Ice world fans line up please. It's a very cold world if my memory serves me right. About the force sensitivity, well, I guess it's just about the same with every other humanoid being in the SWU.
