  1. Just a bit bad that it shows a screenshot from Kotor I. If some new screenshot was there, we were a lot more certain.
  2. I guess I can make an explanation. Revan didn't really leave his/her friends behind if LS. He set out tasks for them. Carth had to keep the republic strong. Canderous would reunite the Mandalorians, Zaalbar would rebuild Kashyyyk, maybe make it strong to prepare for the incoming invasion. Mission might work together with Zaalbar. Juhani, Jolee and Bastila went in hiding during the time of Kotor II but will maybe rebuild the Jedi order in Kotor III. We know that Revan took HK-47 and T3-M4 with him/her and send them back with the Ebon Hawk to find help. If Revan was DS he/she didn't take Bastila with him because the bond would be more of a threat to them then a convenience. Also, Bastila could lead the Sith in Revan's absense. Other then Bastila, he/she hasn't many other companions. And when Revan was in the Unknown Regions he/she did try to find help and T3-M4 found it (the Exile). I think that Revan will most likely have found other followers in the Unknown Regions. Revan needed others but didn't take his/her followers with him/her to the unknown regions because it was more convenient. IIrc, Luke didn't leave Leia and Han behind in TESB which was the worst mistake he made.
  3. Could you explain this please? I don't know what it means, it's not ment as sarcasm but English isn't my mother language. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No problem. I actually did mean it as sarcasm. I was indeed poking fun at Obsidian; I don't like the story that has the character starting out as a Jedi/Sith who has forgotten everything he ever knew about being a Jedi/Sith. Doing it for a third time in a row would just be a bit too much. George Lucas got away with two Death Stars, but imagine a Death Star assault at the end of every single movie. It'd get kind of boring, no? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if you start as a true sith you doesn't have to be one who forgot about all his/her powers, do you? I do agree with you that this time we shouldn't start with a jedi who forgot about the force.
  4. I would say that the people who would like to play as a non jedi IMO should make a storyline proposal which could deal with this. Could you explain this please? I don't know what it means, it's not ment as sarcasm but English isn't my mother language.
  5. It looks like nothing has changed since I left this topic and forum for a few weeks. There are still a lot of people who wouldn't like to play as a Jedi in Kotor III. And as I said before, you can play both Kotor I and II as a "Non-Jedi", force powers and the lightsaber are only a game addition. And then, there are the people who think that we shouldn't make a "Kotor III" as a continuation of Kotor II. Are there really no ways this could be done well??!! I think there are ways around these problems. Faces are very easy to implement in the game. The LS / DS is more complicated but there are ways around this problem. An alternative is that we play as either Revan or the Exile again. And then, there is a problem that they became so powerful. What about the idea that the developers decide that Revan is LS? It surely wouldn't bother me. As for the Exile, we know that it doesn't really matter that much. And there is the fact that we need to fight a war against a very evil Sith who came to the Mandalorians with an offer to fight the republic. And that Revan needed both Jedi and Sith to fight the war that it to come against the True sith. Notice the difference between Revan and Malak's Sith (Dark Jedi) and the True Sith! I would think it would be good to this time start as one of those "True Sith". At the end, you could side with Revan / Exile and the other Jedi (Dark or light can be decided in game) or you could work your way up in the ranks of the true sith and claim the title of dark lord of the true sith. Regardless, you end up defeating the leader of the True Sith in any case.
  6. I agree with this statement, yes. And for fun I am currently working on a storyline for Kotor III who hasn't been in Kotor I pr II and (maybe, (trying to figure out what is better and most logical)) has no ties to Revan or the Exile.
  7. To me, it is all right that Obsidian made Revan some kind of personality and that it didn't make him "your own" personality. About the plan "Mandalorian Wars", I strongly disagree with that. It would be far better if they continue the story to a concluding no. 3 and explain what happened in the Mandalorian wars than to go back to something that has allready happened. Besides, if you then play Revan or the Exile, or why not, Malak. You allready know what would happen! Revan / Malak will fall to the DS. The Exile will fight alongside them but returns to the Jedi as the only one. Revan also knows how to find the Star Forge, We know the location of the star maps. We also know what Malachor V looks like. No, bad idea. Not that I worry about it because I am sure it wouldn't happen.
  8. About this Yuuzhan Vong in the EU. It is true that the "Galactic Alliance" which were the rebels in the OT joined forces with the Empire to remove the invaders from the galaxy but the Empire never turned against the Galactic Empire after that and I guess as long as Gilad Palleon (or something like that) lives they will never turn against each other, they became good friends. More on topic, I think a Dark and Light Jedi could be working together to stop these true Sith. A DS reason to kill the true Sith would be to claim galaxy domination, these true sith are a threat to a Sith Lords domination. And a LS reason would be to wipe them out because of the threat they pose against the Republic. Eventualy however, if one of them is DS they will turn against each other. I think the plot of Kotor III should make one fall to the DS which IMO would be the Exile, this because he/she is a wound in the force which makes more sense to be DS.
  9. It's not just you. It's me too. I think all these idea's are good for a Mandalorian companion or for a Republic hero like Carth but not for a PC, or for the Sith. I would really feel let down if I got to kill the Sith and be the hero of the Republic when I had to use a mega futuristic ranged weapon with more fire power than the heavist Bazooka or Mortar we have on Earth. In stead, I want a Jedi Consular to be able to send back rockets and other ammunition back to the user, much like the Dark Jedi in Jedi Academy would do! Keep the focus on more Jedi/Sith Robes, Lightsabers, the Force, Crystals etc. as it should be IMO.
  10. It occurs to me that Kotor I has DS options which are far more cruel then anything in Kotor II. I mean, stealing the wraith plate, killing your NPC's, it's just cruel. And after I complete a Kotor II game DS, I really don't feel as bad as in Kotor I. And then Lucasarts / Obsidian claims that it is more difficult to go DS in Kotor II. I disagree!
  11. Atton cannot be killed. Fortunately, we all have to kill Kreia. I really hated her. Well, to make a list. We could kill: Kotor II: Hanharr Mira Kreia (Sorry, we have to) I suppose Handmaiden is killed when Exile is Female. Notice they are all gone in the secret academy Visas Kotor I: Carth Mission Zaalbar Bastila Juhani Jolee That makes 11 characters. And about killing them, why shouldn't we be able to sell them
  12. Well, there are some good reasons to tone down ranged combat on the lower-end but I think it would be good if they reintroduced the Heavy Weapon feat tree and that only a Soldier can buy into.....and some KICK BUTT Heavy Weapons. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What kind of improvements on ranged combat? In Kotor II you have: Superb upgrades: pinpoint scopes / pure rylith power cells / high damage chambers / Massive criticals etc. etc, Feats: Precise Shot I to V Those even more improved two weapon fighting feats for the Sith Marauder / Jedi Weapons Master or Sneak Attack for the Sith Assasin / Jedi Watchman. Equipment: Quiet a large selection of Blasters / Rifles, Dexterity upgrades like Aratech Echo Belt, Improved Automation gloves, Target Assesor, Quickness D-Package, Baran Do Adept robe. Uhhh, Hyper Adrenal Alacrity, Echani Battle stimulant What more do you want? I just completed without ever using a lightsaber.
  13. Purple isn't Dark side at all. Mace Windu had a purple lightsaber and I believe in the New Jedi order Jaina Solo also has a purple one.
  14. Just look at my avatar. I guess HK-47 needs the pacifist protocol to become like that. Unfortunately, no bonusses for droids, only for Jedi.
  15. From the last three posts, this one is no doubt the best suggestion!
  16. Before this topic gets locked down because they are not really "Kotor 3:Ideas and Suggestion" may I suggest they get rid of things like: Immunity Belt Immortality Belt Gammorean Wargloves Plasma Projector Gand Silencer Geonosian Electro Staff Lightsaber Phobium Emitters The items that probably no one is ever using but is in the game only to be sold for a very high price, they are probably collectors items in the Star Wars universe, or to be broken down into a lot of components, so they are very complex too..... In stead, I guess I forgot to mention that everyone would like to be able to customize their Lightsaber hilts. O, and another thing that I see would make a fine addition to the game: Uniforms! In Kotor II we see the miner uniform, which can be upgraded with Jedi Robe upgrades like the Armorply Plating Mark II and several underlays. But I think it would be all right to have more of these uniforms in Kotor III. It would for a jedi be quiet smart if you move in these suits in stead of a Jedi robe to not attract notice from the Sith, Bounty Hunters, Mercenaries and other scum. If you could equip it with Light Armor upgrades, they would make a perfect new suit, don't you think. I am now thinking about walking around in a flight suit, something like we see the rebels using in the OT.
  17. If the concept of a chosen one is not exactly possible, then an option of a one that has yet to be chosen might be considered. Chosen one - choices that have been made in advance (Pre-determined in terms of background and story) One that has yet to be chosen - choices that remain to be made (Post-determined depending on preference) Sith'ari, as a concept might be related to being at an advanced level of DS mastery. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now that I read your post, It reminds me a bit of Tahiri Veila from the New Jedi Order books. She was a 'shaped' Jedi, part Yuuzhan Vong / part Jedi. If something happens to our main character, and the (True) Sith we haven't seen yet, shape a jedi by not simply letting him/her fall to the Dark Side but to let him/her become somehow "one of them". Well, who knows. IMO, that could work. Yeah, not that I will run to the shop to buy another one of those other Star Wars games, which are far to much based on the movies. I, We, I guess are more interested in truely exploring something new, like Kotor.
  18. For the time being we can discuss about rumours and provide ideas etc. etc. etc. They might as well globally read this forum. Many people doesn't like to play a "chosen one". Which I don't really agree with, but the best option I have seen so far is to start as a Sith, and maybe you could play as another species. That's a good idea. Other (serious) idea's are to make the game longer, and to visit more planets. I agree with this idea, allthough they wouldn't likely do this since Lucasarts and whatever other developer (Obsidian / Bioware) wish to sell this game and possibly also make a Kotor IV, off course make you wish to see and play more. We will see. Then, some people wish to play as a non force user. Not my choice, and as I have pointed out earlier, neither Kotor game forces you to equip a Jedi Robe, Use a Lightsaber and the force. You could play both games equipping blasters / melee weapons, use mines, grenades, stealth etc. etc. etc.. Force Powers / Jedi Robes and lightsabers are only an addition to the game. Then, there are some, including me who make a storyline proposal. I'll say, keep up the good work and if people say it's no use to do this. Then, well, you can be sure that no one takes notice. You don't think that when you see a job advertisement: No, I wouldn't apply for this because it's no use, do you? Because if you do, you are 100% sure that you don't get the job.
  19. In Kotor II the one on Dantooine: Esok In Kotor I: Bendak Starkiller, Yagi (Canderous side Quest), Ergeron (Manaan).
  20. Things I haven't seen, but I did this: On Goto's Yacht where you meet the Twin Suns, you use force confusion to let them fight each other. Use some Battle meditation and then kill the remaining sister when she is not confused any longer. Ha, you don't even get DS points for this. The other one: In Royal palace to Kiph: Exile: "Stay here, Vaklu's troops will soon come to deal with you" Kiph: "No, they will just kill me" Exile: "O, Okay, then I kill you right now"
  21. I do agree to the idea that in Kotor III you should start as a Sith, maybe you start in the unknown regions and meet Revan (or the Exile) shortly after the game starts. You could from that point go to a republic world (Coruscant is probably a good option) to betray your own people, or you could spy on the republic to go back to your old Sith masters to start a war against this republic. It is a very open way to start a new game.
  22. I don't really understand why people are complaining not wanting to play as a Jedi. The Kotor games do not force you in any way to use force powers and a lightsaber. I wonder if these people ever played the game using armor, melee weapons, blasters, stimulants, stealth, mines, grenades (and off course equip a force mask). See, I bet it is possible to play the game without anything Jedi/Sithish. Jedi robes, force powers and the lightsaber are only additions to the game. But off course, if there are good reasons why someone wouldn't like to start as some Jedi class, lets hear it. I do remember how many people played Kotor I by never leveling up on Taris, effectively making a character level 2 s* class/18 jedi class.
  23. I take it that it wouldn't surprise you that I wouldn't agree with you here, Revan and the Exile die for some sort of sacrifice during or before our game starts? Please No! I mean, one or both of them could be DS and I wouldn't think a Sith Lord would sacrifice him/herself for our new hero to give them a window of opportunity wouldn't it. Not to mention that lots of fans will not be happy to hear that the people we played, became attached to in the first two games are both dead. It is certainly not so difficult to select faces for both characters and find voice actors for both genders. About the other suggestion, yes yes, we saw movies like Under Siege where "the cook" saved the ship from terrorists. When you play "Farcry" you play as a sailer and when your ship was attacked you kill 100's of terrorists. Yes, yes we have seen it all before. And the heroes of the OT where: a farmboy (Luke), a smuggler (Han), a businessman (Lando) and a diplomat (Leia). There where no Jedi except for Obi Wan and Yoda. And then, there are quiet a few Jedi left in the Kotor era, you could train some of the characters to become Jedi and I don't see why the story shouldn't be build around some "chosen one" who is somehow connected to a character we allready know. Some characters that I think should be taken back in no. III in order not to fail: Bastila, Revan, the Exile, Canderous, HK-47, T3-M4 and other possibilities are Carth, Atton, Bao Dur.
  24. Good that someone is making an attempt to renew the topic and post a storyline proposal. Allthough the idea is okay, I tend to disagree witht this storyline. First of all, the exchange does play a major role in Kotor II but they are not what we are really looking for in "Knights of the Old Republic", in the Exchange you don't have "Knights", only a bunch of criminals. No, the main plot should be about the Sith and the Mandalorians in Kotor III, remember that we don't know yet why the Mandalorians attacked the republic and that Revan knows this, that is why he left for the unknown regions. And the Exile leaves republic space to go after the true sith for much the same reason. It would work much better if Kotor III is about these True sith, the Mandalorian wars and why wouldn't your main character start in Unknown Sith space? Now that would make a nice variety to what we have allready seen so many times. And let the plot twist the way that the Sith see you as a traitor. I guess it would be quiet exciting
  25. Yeah, he or she never posted anything. And then claiming such a name.
