  1. in our opinion, 3, 3.5 and 5 d&d is typical best 'tween 4-12. is a two-fold problem o' powhaz and gear. at low levels, one rare has many abilities. this means that 2nd level Burt the Amazing is gonna have few options available to him to do anything other than standard attacks. watch Burt hack/pew away with a sword/rod for five minutes is kinda dull. only excitement comes when a couple foes manage to score a couple crit hits in a row, leaving one or more o' your party at death's door. the true master o' poe's Hel is the God o' rng, particular at low level. high level is opposite problem. developer has to make kewl gear and powhaz available so the player will wanna keep leveling. unfortunate, there is invariably a point at which too much is bad. even if every single bit o' gear and every talent is balanced, there is no way for the developer o' the game to prevent natural/unnatural synergy imbalances. and let's be honest, the developers never manage to keep powers, talents, abilities and spells balanced. there is gonna be barbarian HoF and paladin immolation and cipher amplified wave. the more character customizations options the developers add, the harder it becomes to balance the game. gear also piles up in a game such as poe. 1007 is one o' the great incentives for doing all those quests, but the 1007 invariably leads to a player becoming more powerful, and the game itself can rare keep pace. makes it worse in a game where there is considerable content beyond the critical path as gearing is gonna be a constant balancing nightmare. those side quests need have proper rewards o' gear and xp and gold, all o' which is gonna make a character more powerful than the critical path player. and with poe 2 multiclassing, am suspecting we will reach power bloat even quicker. can reduce the speed with which power and gear is granted, but players will be displeased. am not seeing an easy solution. poe current does follow a similar power curve as does d&d games, although it has a bit sharper rate o' increase at low levels. is tough to gauge higher levels as we don't yet have multi-class and/prestige class, and there is no vast catalog o' poe splat books neither. return to level 1 would be, in our opinion, best, but am thinking you could appease most by starting players at level 4. considering just how quick we got to level 4 in poe, is not as if we would actual be getting much o' a boost, but it might be 'nuff to satisfy the mob. HA! Good Fun!
  2. the pipeline folks has shown little concern for sacred lands. before one o' the earlier injunctions were granted, pipeline companies purposely destroyed a number o' potential sacred sites so as to make the issue m00t. regardless, notwithstanding wod hyperbole and absurdism, am thinking the bigger issue is the missouri river, and other bodies o' water. there will be leaks. accidents is unavoidable. the leaks may even be less environmental threatening than railcar or truck delivery. nevertheless, is seeming that claims 'bout pipeline detection o' leaks and safety is not near as foolproof as suggested. given the possible ecological catastrophe resulting from a leak into unseen groundwater reservoirs or more salient rivers, one cannot help but be concerned when major leaks seems to go unnoticed until somebody stumbles 'cross the problem beverly hillbillies style.
  3. am ambivalent. multi-class offers greater customization opportunities, which is a good thing. unfortunately, our pnp experience suggests multi-classing actual tends to lead to marginalization o' certain classes, as well as making You Win builds more likely. for a melee combatant, why not take a level (or perhaps 3) o' rogue, but why take more? and like it or not, the community is gonna find over-the-top builds. why should we care 'bout OP builds? first o' all, best builds tend to act as lodestones. sure, there may be limitless possible combinations o' class and talents and whatnot, but all the possibilities become pointless if most people only utilize a handful o' best builds. also, op builds is bad 'cause the two most common complaints in every game ever made by obsidian/black isle has been as follows: the game is too hard the game is too easy is hard enough to balance a game when you know that regardless o' your efforts, the above two complaints will be constant. to try and balance a game for many purchasers who play superpowered deathknights as well for people who play vanilla paladins is making the balance challenges faced by the developer all the more difficult. sure, is a single player game, folks can play as difficult or easy as they wish, but it not change how folks feel. still gonna get people complain. the game is too hard the game is too easy am thinking the obsidians need allow for a more expansive beta to let the hardcore build maniacs work out the kinks in the system. the poe beta were good for Gromnir as it didn't spoil the game, but am thinking greater access to full level character build options would be helpful. need present a greater range o' player options and challenges for players to test so developers can avoid d&d 3e multiclassing nonsense. don't give us more o' the game in the poe 2 beta than we saw in poe, but perhaps create an arena or scaling option to more accurate test a full range o' builds. dunno. bad multi-classing can break a good game. HA! Good Fun!

  5. moderate perplexed. our recollection is shady weren't actual a fan o' poe. perhaps you contribute as a supporter o' obsidian as 'posed to a supporter o' poe? doesn't matter. don't need to explain. your money. your choice. typical we pledge minimum for a digital copy when these kinda crowd funding things become available, but we went higher to be supportive o' obsidian doing more o' this kinda title now and in the future. good luck to obsidian. oh, and if game needs a couple extra quarters to get it right, we want the developers to take the time they require. and try and go easy on using companions as exposition-heavy lore dumps. and... HA! Good Fun!
  6. science is just another tool of stalinist oppression and in taking away the rights of white men down with politicized SJW science, go alternative science fixed HA! Good Fun! ps the MIT report on wall building. damn stalinists. pps keep in mind the mit guys is only talking 'bout the wall itself. most studies include the necessary integral infrastructure costs such as roads. the mit folks also did not even attempt to figure in the considerable legal expenses which is gonna result from condemnation o' private property along the border nor having to deal with pesky treaty issues related to water. converse, am doubting Congress, the folks who is actual gonna pay for this monstrosity o' questionable value, is actual envisioning a 1000 mile concrete and steel wall. will likely involve considerable fencing improvements rather than trump's envisioned wall.
  7. unlikely. one reason why trump needs so many additional ice agents is 'cause they is the folks who is gonna be rounding up deportees... and 'cause of the Constitution, chances are they is gonna be doing the rounding up at workplaces and on roads; kicking down doors o' homes to search for illegals is problematic. so raids is gonna typical be broad daylight and in public view. is all gonna be extreme expensive too as temporary detention facilities will need be constructed and the legal niceties o' deportation must still be observed. and numerous American cities has made it clear they ain't knuckling under to trump's attack 'pon sanctuary cities. even if all the logistical issues is dealt with, the cost o' deporting large numbers o' illegals is gonna be extreme. even so, am doubting you see many illegals killed by swat. highly unlikely for various reasons, not the least o' which is swat is hardly ever gonna be involved. global warming folks were correct. 2017 is start o' a new ICE age. HA! Good Fun!
  8. not ivanka, but a beautiful image nonetheless protesters is gonna be charged and may even do some time, but good for them. knowing the consequences, they took a stand 'gainst a perceived wrong. didn't resort to violence. agree with 'em or not, we approve o' their dedication. HA! Good Fun!
  9. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/03/08/why-trumps-comparison-of-his-wall-to-the-great-wall-of-china-makes-no-sense/?utm_term=.a26dfa98ce1e https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/20/us/politics/donald-trump-immigration.html?_r=0 HA! Good Fun!
  10. OMG Hurlshot is an illegal Mexican immigrant! or simply a person who lives in norcal at to trump's curious wall executive order, am wondering who is gonna pay for it. reminds us of trump's failed casinos as he wants to build something most folks don't want and don't think is needed and he is trying to build without actual having the money to do so. at the moment, the Prez has simple decreed that already allocated funds will be diverted to wall construction, as if the already allocated funds were monopoly money nobody is gonna miss or need. is not as if those funds he is directing to build the wall were earmarked for such a use in advance. so who is actual gonna pay? mexico? HA! Congress? http://www.npr.org/2017/01/25/511619026/donald-trumps-moving-forward-with-his-wall-is-it-really-going-to-happen ... am hopeful somebody finally gets around to telling Prez trump he won't be able to use the wall to take a +$20 billion loss on his personal taxes. is not another casino, or trump university, or trump steaks, or... HA! Good Fun!
  11. was thinking 'bout ferris bueller in another thread. HA! Good Fun!
  12. dunno. as much as am liking the cast, this strikes us a movie not in need o' a sequel. in fact, a sequel with mostly intact returning cast is a bit at odds with the theme o' the first movie. after all, as the first flick were relating the stories o' a collection o' young and self-destructive heroin addicts. one expects middle-age to have wrecked terrible carnage 'pon the lot o' em. not great fodder for a sequel w/o necessarily diminishing the first movie. the trailer does makes us wanna listen to the soundtrack. we have the original soundtrack on a cd in a box, in a closet, behind and/or beneath other large boxes. hmmmm. perhaps am gonna simple get a youtube playlist to indulge nostalgia. HA! Good Fun!
  13. Nope. what 'bout the numerous "pretty ladies" who were groped/assaulted by trump? doesn't seem fair to exclude 'em if ivanka is okie dokie fodder... though Gromnir is not actual advocating such. quite the opposite. am thinking wod were including republics with his baseless parroting 'o trump and spicer nonsense regarding widespread voter fraud. as an aside, can we get a "save ferris" campaign for sean spicer? every time mr. spicer steps up to the podium, it reminds us o' downed pilots forced to read prepared statements at gunpoint. has anybody checked to see if mr. spicer's wife and kids is safe? kidding. mostly kidding. against our better judgement, we can't help but sympathize with spicer as he defends white house tall tales from media scrutiny. HA! Good Fun!
  14. possible language barrier fail? dunno. a personal fail o' Gromnir is dogged consistency. HA! Good Fun! ps another example o' why it is foolish to see Republicans as some kinda hive mind http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/lindsey-graham-trump-kill-list-233898 http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/24/politics/lindsey-graham-trump-illegal-votes/
  15. No. In first case Gromnir states what congressmen must or will do. In second case Gromnir states that stating what congressmen must or will do is asinine. *zoom* hypocrisy goes over Gromnir head. HA! Good Fun! incorrect. in the first case Gromnir rejects the notion that Republicans, as a whole, must stand together with trump. more than a handful o' prominent republicans distanced themselves from trump during the 2016 election. is nothing to prevent them from making a similar choice in 2017 and beyond. in the second instance, Gromnir again rejected the notion that the republican party, as a collective, had some kinda "party approved justice profile." trying to suggest a kinda borg collective mentality for the republican party is asinine. how on earth is you reading? HA! Good Fun!
  16. in both cases Gromnir states it is foolish to claim what the Party must or will do as Congressmen act in their own self interest. *zoom* went right over your head. HA! Good Fun!
  17. how on earth are you reading? in both instances, Gromnir observes that individual Congressmen will act in their own best interest regardless o' some kinda perceived external notion from pundits regarding what is best for the party. we noted that in 2016 numerous Congressmen did indeed distance themselves from trump as 'posed to aligning with party interests. so, how do you see hypocrisy? HA! Good Fun!
  18. HA! Good Fun!
  19. remembering warren zevon's b-day http://www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/warren-zevon/biography HA! Good Fun!
  20. http://abovethelaw.com/2017/01/supreme-court-update-and-then-there-were-three/ am kinda conflicted 'bout the notion o' pryor being the most unlikely o' the seeming three finalists. a fine judge who deserves consideration but getting the Presidential nomination woulda' resulted in a senate bloodbath. would be unseemly to see a fine jurist such as pryor staked out like the goat in jurassic park. then again, would be fun to watch trump view the proceedings impotently, and possible self-destructive, predictable tweeting vitriolic at democrat and republican senators alike. as 'tween hardiman and gorsuch, gorsuch would be our choice as he is the kinda writer who is gonna make his fellow Justices better. the thing is, while both potential nominees is textualists, neither has any kinda obvious question marks on their legal résumé. is gonna be tough for democrats to reasonable oppose either, though after the unfortunate situation with judge garland, they may simple dig in and refuse 60 to any trump nominee. HA! Good Fun! ps one wonders how long before the fbi starts a stalker file for keyrock. won't be surprised if he ends up on a no-fly list.
  21. Thanks for those alternative facts. am kinda exhausted by the alternative facts people. am knowing you think little o' the crowd size stuff, but if the stormtrumpers refuse to even admit how trump lied 'bout crowd size given side-by-side photos, then what chance do you got o' finding common ground for a reasonable discussion? is increasing pointless as the alternative facts folks will simple quote breitbart or trump or spicer as being sources. HA! Good Fun!
  22. you actual haven't identified the specific changes you believe is significant beyond linking to breitbart. personal, Gromnir is very interested in the pipeline move, but shady tried to keep a pipeline thread alive on this board and it were an uphill battle. abortion has always been a limited issue. the pro-life movement were started by white catholic women, which don't exactly make up a huge voting block. etc. but yeah, by definition, almost anything trump does domestic and solo will necessarily be less significant... which is how our system is 'posed to work. the President ain't s'posed to be able to make major changes w/o Congress. you learned this in high school, no? foreign policy? what changes has he made... other than possible accidental escalating tensions with China? trump can bring 'bout major foreign policy changes, but so far all he has done is left folks scratching their heads 'cause he don't seem to know what he is doing. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/the-first-days-inside-trumps-white-house-fury-tumult-and-a-reboot/2017/01/23/7ceef1b0-e191-11e6-ba11-63c4b4fb5a63_story.html?hpid=hp_rhp-top-table-main_trumpturmoil-0902pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.789568723267 uh, pretty much every appellate court decision is gonna be technical. is the reason we have judges. appointments of Justices will be significant and will require senate approval. will be interesting to see if trump chooses pryor as he has been rumored to top trump's list while also being the most problematic. again, given historic low approval for an incoming President, will be interesting to see what trump does. nevertheless, trump hasn't actual nominated anybody, so you trying to give trump points for his Schrödinger Justice is as ridiculous as your crowd size defenses. HA! Good Fun!
  23. ... am trying to decide if fox is an improvement over breitbart. *shrug* read our link. HA! Good Fun!
  24. helpful link regarding Justice shortlist: https://empiricalscotus.com/2017/01/19/supreme-court-review-short-listers/ HA! Good Fun!
  25. *chuckle* you sound like vol criticizing polls. the polls were indeed wrong as they failed to gauge how few democrats would actual vote. polls measuring trump popularity don't need to account for such. http://www.npr.org/2017/01/17/510256862/trump-polls-tweet-favorability-popular oh, and more fabulist nonsense from trump http://www.npr.org/2017/01/24/511420960/trump-still-insists-millions-voted-illegally-theres-no-evidence-of-that http://www.npr.org/2017/01/24/511341779/president-trump-to-cut-regulations-by-75-percent-how-real-is-that even trump nominees is left baffled http://www.npr.org/2017/01/24/511434627/budget-director-nominee-obama-inauguration-crowds-were-bigger-than-trumps and trying to tell us what dozens of different Congressman want from a Court Justice is asinine. we are talking 'bout individuals. there is no party approved justice profile. and am suspecting you read "strict constructionist" somewheres w/o actual understanding. very few judges self identify as following strict construction. even the judges the public misidentifies as conservative almost never identify as following strict construction. HA! Good Fun! ps but keep repeating alternative facts and linking to breitbart. is... amusing.
