You're heartless, LC: that's an old archetype.
  2. That is excellent. And NO, I don't feel old just because I remember Tiffany's original version.
  3. Why? Why wouldn't it? The people leading my country don't share the same values as the majority of its inhabitants. Thats not a good thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are guilty of perverting statistics to make your point. FWIIW, Tony Blair's Labour government only secured a vote in the low thirties (33% I think, can't be bothered to check) to win the last General Election in the UK. It happens a lot in democracies, especially with more than a couple of factions to vote for (check out Iraq) and especially when the voting isn't very sophisticated (first past the post is the worst type of dumbing down).
  4. What about toys used for learning aids?
  5. It's pertinent to point out the constituents of "dust" at this point, as some people would be prone to more of it than others (say pet owners, for example). If you keep the pressure higher inside the case (and the case closed!) then that will also help to reduce the dust settling inside.
  6. Well, I wouldn't think so, it can only happen if your controller is operating on the same frequency as another one, say, and they are both within range of each other. I'm just trying to thin outside the box.
  7. The only thing I can think of is that design feels that it becomes too unforgiving. Either that or there is some other issue that I'm not familiar with that makes keeping them in the alerted state problematic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like Mr Hassat would like Far Cry. I think the only weakness in the Deus Ex gameplay is the limited alarm; now when I play I am not very bothered if I trip an alarm as long as I can get to a hiding place shortly after and wait thirty seconds. The alarm set-up in Splinter Cell is more appropriate, I think, as it tracks total infringements (and whether Sam hides the bodies). Haven't we had this discussion before?
  8. Yeah, the magazine journalists saw it when they went to interview 3dRealms for Prey.
  9. Really? What else is it used for (those poor programmers ... )
  10. I am led to believe that the developers have been play-testing the game since before Prey was revealed, so the gameplay should be second-to-none.
  11. Havok is a plug-in for the engine ... the programmers still have to script the procedure jumps.
  12. Who me? I don't need any "proof". I am merely stating the most probable history, as I have discovered through my own research. I don't have a vested interest either way.
  13. A. He'll only kill you with the sword. And then you can rule the galaxy on your own! And why is Pop-eye playing Lord Crockwrath?
  14. Windows CE.
  15. Have you spoken to the religious fundamentalists lately? They are all convinced that the Jews killed Jesus. (But they forgive them because Jesus knew God's plan and wanted to sacrifice himself for "our" sins.) And you don't need to convince me that Jesus the Christ (pious title that conferred political as well as religious authority) was crucified (a political punishment used by the Romans: the Jewish fathers had every right to stone anyone they wanted to death for trespasses) as a rabble rouser, you need to convince those-that-will-never-believe-you, who have their own concept of Jesus (the religious one).
  16. Yeah, Ciar
  17. Women typically don't have anywhere near the extension strength of men (triceps, torso); after all they are triangular shaped (and men are inverted triangles).
  18. That's all well and good, but it doesn't cover orphans, or anyone without a person who would have a legitimate right to decide anything for them. A disabled orphan might live in a group home where he / she wouldn't have a primary caregiver, and all he / she'd be to all involved would be a body in a bed. That's when public policy would dictate what should be done. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Reminds me of the similar issues involved in foster care, too.
  19. I think it's more likely that Bethesda will change those things than move to a top-down third person camera with turn-based combat. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, I'd rather have a 1st person or 3rd person game with action and consequences etc than a top-down turn-based game with the gameplay of oblivion... so yeah, hopefully. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was his point.
  20. I don't know about that. It would depend on just what kind of pop music you'd take as an example. There are scores of god awful pop acts in Portugal which are even several cuts below what pollutes most American airwaves (read: Pussycat Dolls, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani), but there are also some genuinely great ones which only lose out in popularity thanks to erratic media promotion and the often general belief that we can't compete with American pop music. It's not uncommon to have Portuguese acts make great one or two albums then fading into obscurity or spintering off into other bands. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then they would fail at being popular music, by definition, wouldn't they?
  21. I wouldn't call it a show-stopper, but certainly the tech is too new to pick a horse just yet. (I wouldn't be surprised if another, as yet unknown, technology comes out ahead in the near future ... though that would take a large disruption in the electronic consumer goods market place!).
  22. I see your fundamentalist underclothes are finally revealed!
