  1. You do realise the Visitors were a SF version of the Nazis, don't you Steve? Happy Days. (But only before the Shark Jumping moment
  2. "I've suffered for my art and now it's your turn." Vin Diesel quoted recently on his motivation to keep acting.
  3. It pays well... and during the qualification process we get lots of time off.. for studying. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In Britain, especially, the remunieration is about 20% higher than every other country. (Not sure why that is.) Hey, you are not your job title, you are the person who happens to magic pecuniary re-imbursement using that particular arcane speciality. I always wanted to be an astronaut. Never got there, despite visiting Cape Canaveral before I was ten. (PS, Ender, all you need to do is use two or more different browsers, as the cookies are not communitive).
  4. Does it have all those happy 50's smiling people with flying cars that have big fins?
  5. What's TOMBS ? :"> I concur. Or The Machinist ...
  6. You're not gunna get to the Hall of Fame with it sitting there ...
  7. Sorry, I meant the practice area before you start at Liberty Island. (I was also thinking about the demo of IW, which I thought was better than the actual game, at the same time as writing the above.)
  8. I'm like Llyranor's avatar, but at five times the speed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Llyranor's response was better than that unwanted graphic image ...
  9. Except there's more ways to achieve this than by excessive use of vent crawling. Multiple path and associated level progression doesn't need to be confined to the same one trick pony. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. As I said earlier, the demo in Deus Ex is a better example than almost everywhere else in the game ...
  10. I'm waiting for a real digital personal assistant. When "they" combine a telelphone, diary, bank access, AI secretary, fax machine, electronic mail, instant messaging, GPS [], IFF [] and interconnected detailed personal public information database [], all on a HUD. And I wanna be able to see emr in below infrared and above ultraviolet [], too. I guess it'll need an auto-distress beacon, for emergencies: []. :D
  11. Oi! Where's that Witcheta module?
  12. Did someone say The Sith Lords? "
  13. But even the tutorial (Deus Ex) had a better example of sneaking that using the cop-out baby vents. Vide ut supra; although there were lots of areas where there was an open area that the PC could move through according to their own whim, the vents were just a bit too obvious. Also, inside MJ12, it was easy to snipe and hide in the underfloor vents, such that it was obvious how short the attention span of the AI was ... (Two big thumbs up from me.)
  14. I'll bet he didn't like the Tee-shirts.
  15. When do you get an official gernsey?
  16. Ah, but there weren't too many Zero pilots switching sides, either. The propaganda that the Allies didn't take prisoners, combined with thier cultural attitude that surrender meant a total lack of honour, and the fact that the pilots had families back in Japan that were liable to be used as hostages should they think that kamikaze wasn't such a brilliant rearguard strategem; all are factors that the Empire could, and presumably would, use to keep their armed forces motivated.
  17. Well, in all the wars on planet Earth that involved aircraft (basically WW2: it is the only one that drained resources to enable the comparison to be made), the limiting factor hasn't been the budget to build aeroplanes, it's been the training and provision of pilots. Maybe the TIE ighters were as simple to fly as a modern-day car? That's how the Empire saw it, yes, but it also cost them a lot of pilots who switched to the other side. ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe they switched due to political allegiances, a lack of commitment to the Empire, rather than to fight on the side with better ships. I don't recall too many US troops switching sides to use the Panzer Type VI TIGER I, even if the Shermans were regarded as "Purple-Heart Boxes". :D
  18. Maybe the galactic diagram was side-on.
  19. What collective jedi group consciousness? The Exile was the only one to reject the dark side - all the other jedi either died or fell to the dark side and joined Revan and Malak in the conquest of the galaxy. Don't forget that the Exile was the only one to ever return to the face the jedi council. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh, the very same Jedi Council that rejected the dark side I'd presume. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Precisely. I was thinking it might be: the Jedi who left to fight in the Mandalorian Wars, who repressed all the atrocities they had to commit and witness, plus the Jedi who stayed behind and repressed the fates of the millions who would die because of their inaction, their own Canterbury Cathedral Syndrome (as in Winston Churchill's enigma dilemma).
  20. It's more a Jungian concept, actually, so there is no need to go and Freud it up with sexual connotations (although, conceivably, their monastic lifestyle may indeed unwittingly invest more power into their collective repressions).
  21. I thought Goth's were all about pain and suffering, not all this guff. I mean, I know they like dressing and vamping up
  22. Same thing, except I get prettier kaleidoscopic imagery. Must be my bad. (Strange though, because some movies work and others don't.)
  23. For some reason I get no video for that clip, just the audio ... maybe my Windows settings are corrupted?
