  1. Well, I think that's the central conceit and the leitmotif all-in-one. In fact, that particular Blcokbuster rents soft-pr0n, so I don't even know if it's a film from the traditional Hollywood, or the other Hollywood.
  2. You need to use a user mod (called the whereami band) which acts as a 3d-compass-c
  3. Did I just misunderstand the context of this*, then? *whilst keeping with the only consistency provided by the game, that being a total lack of any substance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Why should the character have to appear in person to be "advanced and built upon"? Revan was mentioned frequently in dialogue throughout the game (particularly in dialogue with the other party members). A lot of that dialogue shed new light, offered new perspectives and insight, on various aspects of the character (the circumstances of Revan's original fall to the Dark Side of the Force, Revan's intentions with the Jedi Civil War, and so on) and it conveyed a sense that Revan's actions and legacy were enough to leave their mark on the galaxy five years later. On top of that, Revan was a significant aspect of the Exile's backstory and character development. It certainly didn't seem to me that the writers "dropped" Revan's character just because the character never appeared in person. Revan's "presence" in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was actually something that's stuck with me most about the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was about two lines of dialogue spoken by Kreia in the last conversation before she pops her clogs, but if you think that's masterful storytelling, then sic erat in fatis. I don't. I think the writers either decided, or were told, to avoid all meaningful references to the first game, and
  4. Do not mock the Holy Trinity! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're incorrigible. But funny. Hate one another. But now that you bring it up, a suitably evil and manipulative DSer should be able to turn his companions against each other, for fun and profit.
  5. If it's possible at all, you'll need a modded XBox. (I never tried it on an XBox.)
  6. Not necessarily middle ground. She just harped on you when you were a stupid evil jerk. If you were an evil jerk but did something smart, she didn't. It's just when she felt you were doing something dumb or not thinking things through. Or atleast that's my take on her. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kreia was the One True Prophet, the Vox Magnus. She has laid down her life for the cause of all free-thinkers, who wish to determine their own fate. Join us, take arms against the evil autocrat and its pawns: the Force and FSs!
  7. That's not an easy game. No munchkinism to be had there. You'd even have to work out a general equation for calculating action points for higher level character creation (subtracting an "average" number per level) ... I take it that the Sanity points (or whatever they were called) are a secret attribute known only to the GM, and when the PC adds just one cybernetic bit too much, blammo!: derange-city.
  8. Your occipital lobe must have been burning, because I thought of you when I wrote that, but I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition ...
  9. Imagine how bad the third one is.
  10. As long as you didn't have any overwelming urges to annex the Sudetenland, you should be fine. "We had a few drinks, a few laughs ... next thing you know we're in Czechoslovakia ..."
  11. Now you are putting words into my posts. I never even suggested the merest possiblity that the thought had begun to cross my mind to make the point that the game was "entirely devoid of any substance throughout." Kreia was a magnificent improvement on the one-dimensional caricatures of the first game (and all the films); she had some genuine light and shade, and it was such a pity that the potential was never really built upon in a meaningful way. So, too, the the eponymous "Sith Lords", who ended up being one-and-a-half hack'n'slash confrontations. The influence system was a good idea, too. It just didn't go anywhere, and didn't make sense in the format that was delivered. I would never try to "convert"
  12. It wasn't an insult; then again, I suppose relying on argumentum ad ignorantiam will only lead to one outcome. Why don't you use that incredible intellect of yours and look it up? In case you have forgotten, there is the sum total of all human knowledge at your disposal. Are you stupid or idle?
  13. Wow! So the action points don't rejuvenate! That's a totally different ball'o'wax. Do they roll-over to the next level if you don't spend them?
  14. Any and all contributions graciously accepted.
  15. No, I think what they were doing was trying to provide a nice euphemism for every "type" of character, so that no-one would feel left out (and be horribly scarred for life by the experience). After all, Psych for the general public is about tendencies, not absolute labels. But people hear "Obsessive Compulsive tendencies" and think they're an undiagnosed serial killer ...
  16. You'd be a little past that by now, surely? I picture you as more of an intermediate ...
  17. Yeah, I once beat the AI by killing my own troops. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that is wonderfully innovative. I wouldn't recommend it IRL, but if ever Skynet does appear, we've got a walk-up start ...
  18. (I don't expect you'll ever fully understand: you're missing a Y chromosome.) Were the deadpan one-liner puns an homage to Arnie? I'm not sure, but did Duke actually say "If it bleeds, we can kill it!" ?
  19. It wouldn't surprise me if you had a flamethrower ...
  20. I just thought I'd record this for posterity, Volo. "
  21. My money's on Eru.
  22. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day, Jodo.
