Based on these titles, which controller to get
MrMoe replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
I have a PS3 (console) and an Xbox 360 controller for my PC ( respectively for demon souls and dark souls... ) For me the Xbox controller is superior, its just bigger and more comfortable in my hands, even after long sessions -
I like the ranger (Maia) as a companion class - she doesn't require much micromanaging, I just give her the auto-attack AI (standard for every companion) and seldom have to manage her further than giving her a target and get out of hostile range. Just like the hunter class in WoW - join a raid, right click on boss, go afk for 30min, loot! I think the ranger would excel in smaller parties, but with 5 man and Eder and Pallegina on the front line, the pet is pretty much superfluous.

The Intel64 architecture emulates 32bit code, but the AMD64 runs it naively and pretty much with very little or no performance loss. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64#Operating_modes

Isn't it already working similary, with the higher damage range? At least the loading screen tooltip tells me that very often. And 2H are not doing too bad either, at least according to this post: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102539-dual-wield-vs-any-other-melee-style/?do=findComment&comment=2057725

Not sure if you backed Wasteland 3, but backers have a choice to get a copy of UnderRail for free. -

Which games have aged well in your opinion?
MrMoe replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
Never really played the Alpha Centauri back then. I really had hopes for CIVILIZATION: BEYOND EARTH , but that game felt just too much like the regular Civ and the old fans of AC were disappointed too. I hope that games gets a worthy successor some day. My top games that I still enjoy: UFO: Enemy Unknown + Jagged Alliance 2 + Fallout 1+2 I dont care for the old graphics, the game mechanics and atmoshpere are just unparalleled! -
Are you drinking that stuff pure, or as gin and tonic? I found my favorite Gin (and tonic water): Wellinghouse Premium London Dry Gin (from a discounter) and Thomas Henry tonic water, with lime or lemon. We had some Skin & Hendricks Gin on the weekend, can't really tell the difference, especially in a longdrink!

I like her Summary: Born of human parents, Pallegina has been touched by Hylea giving her avian features such as feathers and golden eyes. Resented by her father by ending her mother’s ability to bear any more children, she had a rough early childhood. She found acceptance in the Brotherhood of the Five Suns. Now, in the Deadfire, Pallegina continues to fight for the Vailian Republics against pirate kind I would be supprised if she doesn't leave

Is it really that important? Pretty much everyone on this forum thinks that the game gets too easy reaching level10+ So having a character lagging behind a bit is not gamebreaking or anything, he just needs some time to catch up a bit. The only thing that would bother me about it, if it's not possible to reach the level cap for that character in question. I think I like the current way its handled. It was like this in Baldurs Gate, very seldom would you level up your complete party at once. In PoE it can become a chore - ughh 5 level ups to distribute.... vs Cool! 1 level up. Lets see what we have...

Intel Invented the Traditional SSD Killer of the Future
MrMoe replied to Gfted1's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
I can't find the benchmark I was referencing, but I'm pretty sure he was using an PCIe m2 disc. But as the use of a ramdisc showed (they're easily 10x faster than an modern SSD), every day application can't really uitilize them fully because the bottleneck lies somewhere else. -
In Baldur's Gate 2 (and 1 EE) you have the same problem. 2nd weapon stats + 1 extra attack per round is better than anything else. But the data that MaxQuest has compiled shows that 2h weapons arent bad at all, and 1h has it advantages too, but mainly early game where a higher accuracy is more important as high level buffs and debuffs are not that available.

Intel Invented the Traditional SSD Killer of the Future
MrMoe replied to Gfted1's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
It seems we're at a point already where drive speed isn't making much difference for games anymore. I recently checked benchmarks on SSD vs M2 SSD and a RAM disc. Even in games with long loading times (total war, gta5 ) the higher priced m2 dics or even the ram disc did offer a very minor improvement, especially compared to hdd vs ssd loading times. Might be nice if you copy your data often from A to B, but in my personal usage I seldom need that. -
I recently upgraded my PC, tossed out the old i5-2400 ( i got nearly 7 years out of it, and its still working ok) and bought an 2600x. I could have gone for a little bit more single processing power with an intel system, but I think with a more multi core performance and supporting the (current) underdog I made the better choice. System runs really smooth, helped that I removed my last hdd too, so I should be good for the near future. Ryzen2 2600x 16GB DDR4 RX 480 250GB + 500GB + 60 GB SSD, Xonar DSX and a DVD drive I never use.
