  1. You need a lens fixture, not a lens. Surprised that you don't have one by now. Try going back to your ship, that SHOULD trigger an event that gives you one. If not, just keep playing through the level, you'll get one.
  2. It seems like you get more skill points per int modifier this time around. If you set your INT to 16, I think you will can do this. Just make sure you don't waste points on cross class skills-save them until you pick the class skill ____ feats. Incidentally, with an INT of 16 you get a lot more conversation options and some problems are automatically solved, most notably a number algorithm on Peragus. Note: With a INT of 16, you shouldn't ever increase a skill over 27. You won't need any skill higher than 30. If you stop at 27 you can use all the bonus points to catch up with any skill that fell behind.
  3. You are not a jedi. Kreia is not a jedi. To be a jedi you must be a member of the jedi order. As far as knowing what happened-largely you (the gamer) are writing your PCs backstory as you choose dialog options. Instances of this occuring are in the Atton conversation, the long conversation with Atris, and the flashback. You are deciding what kind of life your jedi has lived and what he thinks of his exile. P.S. What's with that 'what was with that hand losing thing' question?
  4. The prerequisites for a prestige class and the ONLY prerequisites no matter what anyone else tells you are as follows: Be level 15 or above. Have a somewhat extreme alignment (good or evil, must be closer to the edges than one would think). Talk to Kreia before finding all the jedi masters. If you've completed all the planets, you're screwed.
  5. Although, maybe I'm missing something. I have the Xbox version and I remember all the complaining about bugs was mostly nitpicky-the only one that caused me any problems was the one where the unarmed fighting feats would erase the chance of you acquiring other feats. If the PC is this much more buggy and all this chatter is not exaggeration AND obsidian seems to not have fixed anything and broken more in the two extra months they had, perhaps they do deserve some blame, but only for squandering bugfix time on the PC.
  6. From Lucasarts' perspective, forcing Kotor2 out before a holiday ships more units, making them more money. If it's buggy, that won't hurt holiday sales. If people get angry and threaten to not buy the next one, LA can just blame obsidian for poor programming and assuage fears by switching to a new developer. But even still, Lucas Arts has put out much worse games than this one. Is clone wars even a game? Battlefront is fun until you realize that you spent more time in Kotor2's Peragus mining station than you did unlocking every feature of battlefront. As it is, I am somewhat satisfied with Kotor2. Moreso because I am impressed from a writing standpoint at where Avellone was going with this thing. I only wish that Lucasarts would have given the artists at obsidian more time to do what they wanted.
  7. He sounds like Orlando Bloom. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I remember thinking that he sounded like an homosexual Chris Walken.
  8. Do you have evidence of this? I wasn't "bitching" though. I was voicing a concern as a customer of there products, as I said in the first post I am not angry with them. But you believe lucasarts caused this game to be unfinished? Well, if that is so then the number crunchers you speak of shouldn't be allowed to make those sort of decisions, if the game isn't done, it isn't done. Period. I will however e-mail lucas arts about this. Again, I'm not angry and I'm not "bitching". I just want to know why and how this can be stopped. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry if it read like I snapped at you, but I find it unfair when Obsidian is criticized for not doing Beta testing (which was LA's job according to the game manual) and for releasing (again LA decision) a buggy game based on a release date instead of completion. It's not just you that's doing it, so I apologize. Anytime a big title is pushed out to fit a date it tends to be buggy. Remember in Gran Turismo 2 when you'd load a save game and half the cars in your garage would be inexplicably missing? Released before it was ready to fit a date. Gran Turismo 3 was delayed for like a year and a half, but I don't remember ever having a problem with it. Fable was pushed back forever, and while there was content removed, and there are a few bugs, it certainly never crashed or slowed down on me. Games are always released on either release dates or on completion. If Obsidian was setting its own release date, then they could expect to take the blame. If Obsidian was responsible for declaring it fit to ship, they should be held accountable. But in both cases there was a parent company with veto power and ultimate authority over the project.
  9. Obsidian answers to Lucasarts whose only directive from Lucas is to make profitable games. Not to grow. Not to push the envelope. Not to have great brand-recognition. Lucasarts is not like Lucasfilm in terms of furthering the respective media. If the number crunchers at Lucasarts say an unfinished game released in December (or February) will move more units than a polished one released in August, then that's what will be done. Quit blaming Obsidian. Bitch at Lucasarts if you feel cheated. I, myself, do not.
  10. Charisma seems to only be important this time around for force users. The attack bonus to companions is unnecessary, if you know what you're doing. And the discount to force powers is negligible. Unless you are a wizard-type put everything that you wanted to put into charisma into INT instead. If you are a consular/master/lord split the difference between those two attributes. Believe it or not (due to INT's uselessness in Kotor and NWN), a character with a 16 INT just breezes through this game. And don't ever raise a skill over thirty.
  11. To be honest, it really doesn't make a lick of difference if you go single or double in Kotor 2. Trust me that you will be killing everything in one shot no matter what you're using by the time you get above lvl. twenty. Includes all classes. Go with what you think looks better.
  12. I think the only times I've ever used a stance are against the 5 clone sisters and two 'jedi' masters in the game. The group one really did help against the sistas, but I don't think whatever form I used made a lick of difference vs. the jedi. The stances are essentially useless by the time you have them all since your attack should be so high that missing a strike is a theoretical thing. If the PCs graphical stance changed, i.e. he/she visibly held his/her lightsabre differently or stood in an interesting way, I might have used them more. Or if the game was harder.
  13. I think he kills something like a thousand jedi and a million Massassi at his last stand, but I haven't read the jedi academy trilogy in ten years, and there are other people way more versed in the EU than I who can clarify this. Is Nur Ab Sal still around? I always feel like a jackass trying to rationalize Lucas's decisions in logical terms when I know that at heart there is usually a way simpler and much more stupid explanation. He probably killed off Maul because the makeup artist asked for too much money. Enter next sith Lord, some old man.
  14. Don't we see Vader's face in 4 of the 6 movies. This doesn't apply to Malak who simply had his jaw cut off, but here goes: the rationale of Lucas would probably be that using the dark side takes a physical toll on the Force Adept not unlike the use of a highly addictive drug like heroin. The capillaries burst, the eyes sink, the figure becomes more gaunt and the user ages faster. In star wars history, the sith usually fall only to overwhelming force-exar Kun killed hundreds of jedi at his last stand; Maul killed 4 jedi in total before being killed due not to Obi-Wan's power, but due to his own overconfidence; Luke Skywalker overcomes Vader only by giving in to his own anger and tapping the darkside-which suggests that the dark side is stronger. To counterbalance this, light side force users seem to have abnormally long life (in some cases immortality). So the dark side offers quicker, more immediate and apparent power at cost to health and the light side offers health and peace of mind at the expense of a longer road toward achieving mastery. The sides of the force are a tortoise and the hare sort of thing. Now. From a design standpoint Malak, Sion, Vader, and Nihilis have something wrong with them because it makes them look scary. Ooh.
  15. Didn't work for me. I would think it's a load of crap or something that was removed, but IGN SHOULD know what they are talking about.
  16. More stupid. 'Stupider' isn't a word. Unless the point was that you were self-including in your use of 'everyone.'
  17. I just asked where it went jackass. I'd never seen a seven page thread disappear overnight. Delete this one too.
  18. It *poof!* vanished. Some dumbass was posting spoilers like there was no tomorrow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Leave it to dumbasses to ruin things for smartasses.
  19. Thanks, but I meant what happened to the to the True sith empire THREAD that's been around for a couple days.
  20. What happened to it?
  21. Effects of higher influence: Visas- gain the force sight ability Kreia- plot stuff and exp Hanharr- he gains +2 to strength and -2 to int. If you learn his lesson and talk to kreia you gain +2 to strength and +1 to con Go-to- get him to explain what he is and gain 2000 exp. T3- gain ability to meditate with him (regain force power) and restore connection to the force HK- gain some (unspecified) bonuses to stats and will saves Bao-dur, Disciple, Mira- can turn them to jedi Handmaiden- can turn her to jedi and gain the battle precognition power (passive) Atton- can turn him to jedi and improve will saves (the latter may have nothing to do with influence) Mandalore- don't know yet
  22. I tried this numerous times and with numerous characters in the party and couldn't get it to work. I think this is a false benevolent event.
  23. Unless you wear 'clothes,' Bao-dur's force powers are resricted. He's set up to be that way. Pick whatever medium armor you can find that has the best def bonus (he should have a zero modifier in dex, so don't sweat that restriction) and fill it with appropriate upgrades. He can't (I'm pretty sure but not positive) wear the Jal Shey or Zeison Sha stuff because they specifically except him.
  24. Some sith have been occasionally calling themselves Darth this or that since they first appeared. It means shadow warrior. Darth became compulsory in honor of Darth Bane and all subsequent sith were required to call themselves Darth. At this point Darth ceased being a name and became more of a title than anything-e.g. Khameir Sarin (sp?) passes his sith trials and in so doing becomes a 'Darth,' Darth Maul in his case.
  25. Take Disciple and kreia and slaughter an innocent. You'll get your one influence point.
