I would have waited for a finished game
Gorth replied to camus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There are sort of two sides to the thing. If storyline elements gets cut because the schedule was changed, both developer and publisher shares responsibility. It's only my own suspicions, but I do suspect that LA was hurting financially (why else cut their own in-house development) and offered a deal that was pretty irresistable (a carrot and stick combo, make a lot of bucks or we'll make your life miserable for a long time) if the game could ship for xmas instead of it's planned release date. The entirely technical issues is the responsibility of the Publisher, because in this case they are the ones doing both the QA and the decision when it's ready to ship. Probably wouldn't have hurt to have a few more games trying different paths through the game and on a few more different hardware combos. I still liked the game though, although in my replays I stop playing after -
(Evil Overlord grin:) *Muahahah* Come to me all ye numbers, unite under my banner... Numbers from all domains and disciplins shall march forth... Integers, rationals, negatives, complex numbers, endless columns of marching primes shall pour forth and the world shall tremble under the weight of numbers... For behold, there is strength in numbers and nothing shall stand against endless numbers...

Erhh... (thinking) It's mostly work and very little gaming these days When I do have a bit of time, it's mostly the "two's". A game in progress of BG2, Kotor2, Jagged Alliance 2 and just recently finished Master of Orion 2 for the umpteenth time " Before the current games in progress, it was Disciples 2, Fallout 2 and Pirates! (just to ruin the "two" system of my gaming) Once I finish my game of BG2, I might go back and try a new party in IWD2.

Not sure if it was meant as a joke or not, but you do have a point. If the choice is between the two shown covers, B is definitely the "Comic" book cover, whereas A is... dunno, game box cover art from the late eighties. However, if you really want to sell, you do need T&A on your cover and that means some completely unrealistic proportioned red head wearing little more than bodypaint. Sex sells, simple as that

By the same logic, Jennifer Hale is only a half decent actress since all she contributes is the voice...

Gorth replied to Nur Ab Sal's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Most exciting aspect of Episode III is, it's going to be the last SW movie for a long while... -

TSL Restoration Project: Work in Progress

Looks great (w00t) What are your release plans (not release dates) ? Are you going to release it in parts as each self contained part of the project finishes, or are you going to release it as one big mod once you feel there is nothing more to be accomplished with it ? (sort of hoping for releasing individual parts as they are finished :"> ) -
Good question, e would definitely have been a natural number to include. Come to look at it, he does seem like a racist, only positive integers are represented >_

It is sort of a Dungeons & Dragons game...

Are you a tragic Star Wars nerd?
Gorth replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Some day I might, together with a few friends and some beers. If nothing else, to satisfy my curiosity. I'm unlikely to go watch it on the big screen though. Still, once all three prequels are available as rentals on DVD, I might just give them a try. -
You can't really take a number poll without 42 seriously. Besides, polls like this tends to discrimate complex numbers, which I'm sure they find quite offensive, always just the commercially viable mainstream rational numbers >_

Are you a tragic Star Wars nerd?
Gorth replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Tragic ? Possibly A Star Wars Nerd ? No I watched the original Star Wars (no stupid roman numerals) on opening night in 1977. I loved the movie and was fascinated by the universe. Never imagined that it would get a sequel, but was quite excited about it when I saw on T.V. that a Star Wars II was being made. The Empire strikes back, and I really loved Star Wars at the time of it's (ESB) release (despite it featuring that annoying little gremlin Yoda). The Return of the Jedi happened :'( It started quite OK for the first few minutes... The Droids arriving at the entrance to Jabbas abode. Then the doors opened and it was the friggin muppet show. My enthusiasm cooled from there way down until seeing Leia in that slave costume :"> Still, Jabbas Yacht, the band etc. pretty awful. The real killer was the Ewoks though. The moment one of those monstrosities stared at me from the silverscreen, I lost all interest in Star Wars >_ I did buy the "improved" trilogy on VHS when they were released, I did after all like the first two movies. A number of glitches had been fixed, the roman numeral IV added to the first movie etc. But *why* did they have to change the story and make Greedo shoot first ? I gave the videos away eventually to my then 4 year old nephew. He loved those SW movies. I saw The Phantom Menace as a rental, but didn't quite manage to stay focused on it. Didn't bother with the second one, can't remember it's name. So Star Wars nerd... definitely not anymore  -
What would you say when killing someone?

So they suck at crpgs... on the other hand, the Sturmovik series is reputedly a quite OK series of flight sim games, so they do know how to do something right. Besides, they can't make it any worse than Homm4, I refuse to believe that.
-
Then I am a little bit excited After Homm3 I loved Homm4 just about as much as I loved Master of Orion 3 after Master of Orion 2

Do you like being forced to use...
Gorth replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It was a nice change. Atton got his butt handed to him by the sisters the first time, but otherwise... I prefer party based advanturing over the Kotor model, where you have a PC and his/her henchmen. Switching focus from the PC and giving you NPC's some screen time didn't quite make it party based, but it was an improvement. I especially liked the part on Dxun/Onderon where you selected two teams, the PC leading one on Onderon and an appointed "leader" to lead the other party on Dxun in what is supposed to be simultaneous events. I wouldn't mind at all if you were to do that more often (the appoint a different leader and followers and send them on their own missions thing). Makes them useful as more than just mannequins for new armour/robe fashion or underwear models. -
Sounds too good to be true, especially the tactical combat part (as in not another RTS). If it had just been announced like at least 24 hours before or after april 1st, in any time zone, I might have got just a little bit excited about it.

How leathal are thermal detinators?
Gorth replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Most likely option highlighted. Wouldn't really be fun running around with small nukes, that would blow up everything, the player included :p" -
That ain't a word, dumbass. IIRC, "ain't" isn't a word either

Ladies and Gentlemen... The Killer of Kongs... The Chastiser of Chimps... The Molester of Monkeys... The one and only: Kumquatq3!*) *) This is the "before" picture. It might be necessary to contact closest relatives for the "after" picture.
