Hanharr was an awesome character. So much anger in one pelt  The way he elaborated on how he killed his own people, starting with the children, staring them in the eyes when he strangled the life out of the kids so they may know why they were to die for his hand, then moving on to murder the adults etc. Thats one angry wookie, unlike the tribe of whiny whimps from the first game. Besides, dual wielding Gamorrean battleaxes and with wookie fury, nothing stands alive when he's done

Who was the better Sith Lord?
Gorth replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia. To me, she's the female version of Palpatine from ESB and ROTJ. Scheming, manipulating, etc. Malak is just the stupid schoolboy bully who stole the big stick from the guy who was supposed to use it, and now goes on a whacking spree to show how bad he is. Stupid evil as apposed to clever evil. Whats with all the Darths anyway ?!? I'm pretty sure that in most parts of the games, they are referred to as Malak, Revan, Sion, Kreia etc. There might have slipped a Darth in there, but I suspect it's something all the Darth wannabes are attributing to them. Heck, I can't even remember Nihilus being called by his name, he's usually just "Visas master" -

Favoreite NPC and/or Party Member
Gorth replied to Darth Hoebag's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Favourites as in on board the Ebon hawk or favourite "away team" ? Makes quite a difference. I love the discussions with Kreia, but she always stays on the Hawk. It reduces the xp I get. When going away, I usually take Hanharr and T3. The little Tin Can is just a main battle tank on wheels Probably two of my favourites too anyway. Least use... would be Goto and Handmaiden. Goto just has that "feel" that there is something missing to his purpose in the game and Handmaiden, despite using Lingerie of Mass Seduction DC20 and a nice voice, I find little use for her. Hanharr is just more interesting. -
My characters are all named Gorth :"> Except on the rare occasion when trying out a female, then it's Gwynn (sounds better than Gortha). K1 and K2 were the first time since BG2 was new that I tried that one again. All nice 5 letter names, that I can actually pronounce

Revan Or The Exile? Whos Stronger In The Force?
Gorth replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Since my whimp of a Revan ended up being a level 12 Jedi max (IIRC), and my Exile ended up level 25+ Jedi... I would say, looking only at the force perspective, My Exile would wipe the floor with my Revan (which was much happier being a scoundrel than a jedi) anytime -
I try my best to keep him a tech specialist as there is way too many jedi's in a game featuring the last jedi...

It's not that he is better or worse than any other character, that can throw punches, but he does have a special attack form that only works when using fists. If he uses fists, you get it on the same combat menu, where you find flurry, power attack etc. it's called "shield breaker" or some such. It only takes one hit of that attack to remove an opponents shield. Then you don't have to do like 60-100 whatever damage first and then injure the opponent. If you send Bao Dur on a quick trip from one veteran merc to the other of those who uses shields (those who "glows red"), they die a lot faster when you and Atton start cutting/shooting them.
-
Just a few tips for this one... The "secret" for me on this one was micromanagement of your troops. Tab between them all the time and keep their command queues full with the things you want them to do. Keep an eye on your shields. In this fight, I prefer energy shields, as the guys can usually hold their ground in melee. "Force speed" powers are your friend. Remember Bao Dur's special ability, let him use his fists, thats what he does best, and especially let him have the first go at the veteran mercenaries (when they glow "reddish") with his special shield breaker attack. Use stimulants. Use medipacks. It's one of the few interesting (challenging) fights in the game

Exactly I rest my case :)"

This reminds of whatshisname from PS:T, Giscorl ? The guy who keeps following rituals for rituals sake and forget what the purpose behind them was. Why stick to continuity if it's counterproductive to improvement ?

Basilisk war droid...

I guess all kinds of ideas get their own fundamentalists and extremists...

What is this "Holocron" ?!? Is that the comic where it's from ?
-
Exactly. Thats why it was presented to Lucasarts for the Aye or Nay and it was accepted by the powers that be, that at least one droid now looks like the fighter in the Mandalorian garage. How many people actually knew the "lobster" version anyway ? And no, it might not be continuity, but that doesn't sound like one of the virtues of the SW universe anyway.
-
Somehow, I could just imagine riding one of those to the tunes of B52's "Rocklobster"... :-" It might be deadly, but it still looks stupid and not to mention the impracticality of wearing all that personal armour. If the guy ever fell of his lobster, he would never be able to stand again without somebody dragging him up. Definitely looks more like some superhero comic stuff than space fantasy.
-
You haven't seen his picture then... I got a link to it, but I don't like posting peoples pics without their consent

Face it Kumquatq3, you are doomed, you are sooo doomed What are the current odds btw. where is Jag ? Edit: Yeah, this would make a great UT2004 mod
-
You all sound like spammers
-
Lets see... I have this Mole-Lobster that some comic book artist came up with... How do I make it look deadly and less silly ?... Right, scrap the Marvel universe version and make a Starwarsy version of it, continuity be damned (which few cares about anyway)

Do You Think Obsidian Has Done A Good Job On K2?
Gorth replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Given the working conditions, they did a great job with what they had. I would have loved to see what they would have done with a three year project instead of a one year project though... -
When you talk to somebody and wonder how you gain influence points...

Crates! Bah! You can keep your cylinders, footlockers and crates - I'll take a good old fashioned wicker bin any day of the week. :D But wicker bins are just so... "quaint" Need good, ortogonal, top opened crates Anyway, for somewhat more serious suggestions. Or should I say, constructive critic ? More use of party members. It was an improvement, but it could be taken even further. Do we even need a protagonist ? Or could it be a party thing like IWD ? I'm thinking the original Star Wars movie here, that didn't really have "a" hero (although Luke got the biggest bodycount with the deathstar), but a group of heroes, Han, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, The Droids, all contributed in important ways to solve the sidequests. Often without the nominal protagonist present. It's still too easy to play "against" your character. If you are way darkside or lightside, remove the opposing schools of magic. Erhh... I mean the other force powers. Could be something like cetain powers being very light and some very dark. The more you sway to one side, the less you can move across the "middle line" and use powers. I don't want to be a Jedi. I hated it in K1 when I was forced to give up my scoundrel class. At least, I was warned in K2 that I was stuck with being a Jedi. I still hated it when half my traitorus team turned jedi on me though. Freeze dried Insta-Jedi, just add water and stir, yum! The idea was nice, but couldn't it have been made so, that only one of your npcs could be trained as an apprentice ?!? Even if you had three candidates, only allow a jedi to have a single apprentice ? Please ? It might be an engine thing, but those engines as were used in the two games just doesn't work very well with combat... it seems to favour a style where the opponents are either static or just charge headlong towards each other and push buttons. What happened to using the entire area, using area effect weapons, distance, skirmishers, fire support, etc. ? Most of the battles were too easy, simply by moving around a bit and using terrain to your advantage. The poor endboss didn't even put up a fight, I could just find a spot to stand, press throw lightsaber at my leasure and then watch the game ending... I really really miss a bit of a tactical challenge. And no, giving the opponent 10.000 VP and immunity to everything is not a challenge, just silly and a test of patience. Why do party members always stick around ? How about getting rid of some, once they have outlived their usefulness. Drop them off at the local cantina and hope they are there, should you decide you need one of them again. Would make the Ebon Hawk less crowded. Dying... What happened to dying ? Was it Attond who made a funny remark regarding the partymembers ability to stand up again, despite being blasted to pieces ? Again, it might be an engine thing, but the third person perspective just doesn't work very well with teams or party members in a combat situation... how about changing to a more isometric type, slightly distance view of the field when combat occurs and allow "team" commands by area selection of team members. Not unlike real time strategy games, select the two guys to the right and issue instructions, like providing coering fire and grenades, then select the four guys to the left and tell them to fall back while firing or some such... Heck, adobt the Jagged Alliance 2 approach to combat. Meh, could ramble on forever. Way too few good crpgs out there... PS: (slight spoiler)

Are there any female Mandalorians?
Gorth replied to jaguars4ever's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Perhaps it's their wives that makes them come up with all the excuses for conquest, just to get away from home " As a Star Wars ignorant, are Mandalorians a culture or an ethnic group ?
