I only have two major problems with MOO2. One is that "Creative" is massively overpowered/underpriced and the other one is some of the reproducable bugs that crashes the game (hitting enter without entering a filename when saving and when having the warp interdictor device when the computer AI tries to retreat from a losing battle springs to mind). It's still the best of it's kind around though. The only two runners up I know of is Reach for the Stars for Commodore 64 and Space Empires IV. The first is from before half of the people around here were born and the latter just isn't as fun as MOO2

I just checked, it's Orlen I'm not sure, since I simply did "the grand tour" after getting the keep and talked to everybody. Wasn't the armour smith the guy from fort Locke?

Soon after you get the keep, go visit West Harbour. Was it "Orden" ? he'll decide that there is nothing left for him and go to Crossroad Keep. You can have both Deekin and the dark elf merchant. As for the armour smith, one of the armour smiths you run across is not really happy with where he is, but he can't afford to move to Waterdeep or wherever it is he wants to go to some day. He'll upgrade armour the same way the weapon smith upgrades your weapons. I've only sided with the neverwinter nine so far, so I don't know if the tower has other purposes. Same thing for the the church. Next time, I'll try to let the monk have the building.

Regarding the armour, didn't you get both the weapon smith and the armour smith? Add to that 1 Dancer, Deekin, A dark elf merchant, Sal the barkeeper, two miners, the farmer from west harbour (the one who complained wbout the cheater with the enlarged pig). I'm not very good at remembering names Edit: The dancer is Light of Heavens sister of all things.

Under the best voice acting category: "Oblivion is filled with high-quality voice acting throughout the many dozens of hours of adventuring it has to offer. " The voiceacting was so bad, that I had them under suspicion of using a speech generator that would just read and parse the dialogue text files, so flat and unemotional was it. If that makes it into the top 5...

I had Qara buff up my PC before the battle and then used Word of Changing right after talking to LoH. Her Knockdowns simply bounced of my Horned Devil's 32 STR and the 5hp/round regeneration pretty much negated any damage she managed to do. Still, it took me a long time time to defeat her because she seemed to have several uses of Lay on Hands for some reason and thus kept healing herself to full health over and over again. So the horned devil deal works? When I tried that spell with Ammon Jerro, it didn't work terribly well for him. I was thinking of investing in the negative energy eldritch blast that drains levels, but it wouldn't work against undead, and LoH might have immunity. I don't know if it is too late for you, but having the Dash feat is pretty handy. You can outrun her, and if you have a ring of regenration, it is just a test of patience, not of skill.

'Poor guy' my ass! For this slime-ball I'd build a plastic room, attach a 2000 watt microwave oven magnetron tube and punch the 'dinner' button a few times and not feel too much sorrow. Maggot! And waste perfectly good organs? You never know, his liver and kidney might be used to save lives, even if his brain may not. Apart from that, doesn't most microwaves have a slow "defrost" program?

I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but I'm playing it on my work laptop, which has an ATI X1600 Mobility processor, catalyst driver packaging version 8.201.2-051124a1-028716C-Acer. That gives me 20fps on the larger outdoor areas and 35 fps in indoor areas. Edit: That's with a decent resolution and all the flash except shadows which are the lower (Dropshadow?) setting.
