  1. 4:3 non-anamorphic widescreen means loss of detail and resolution. Not that the original master tapes might be in pristine shape 29 years after, but why even bother putting them on DVD then, if you are going to "shrink" the widescreen format down until it fits in a 4:3 frame? As for the sound, I'm pretty sure a campaigner for better sound in cinemas like Lucas and his THX could do better than stereo... The mutilated/crippled/re-edited versions which covers up the murder of Greedo in true cold war Soviet style is of course in excellent condition. It's like he really *wants* to put the originals in a bad light just to spite the people who prefer the cinematic versions.
  2. Sure, just ignore old Gorth because he lives a few Km south of the border these days It is not common among small and medium sized businesses. Large corporate sized companies may have them, although I never worked for one of those in Denmark I've used english with english speaking customers, german with german speaking customers and a bit of french to tell the french speaking customers that they need to communicate in english. Bang & Olufsen makes some nice speakers A few of them are mentioned here: http://www.ambwashington.um.dk/en/menu/The...nomicRelations/ What is otherwise happening trade/technology wise: http://www.buyusa.gov/denmark/en/ccg4.html Oh, and if you ever wondered where software like Kazaa and Skype came from... :aiee:" They did their job too well and made themselves redundant. The working class is fairly well off these days. They used to, but as Rosbjerg said, you are most likely regarded as the runt of the litter if you stay too long in a job. That means nobody else wants you. Because we are "Eurosceptics"? Danes don't trust politicians any further than they can throw them. If the politicians all agree the Euro is a good thing, people vote 'No'. I might be wrong, but most of the people I know regard EU and Bruessels with disdain and don't want to hand them any more power than forced to. There is a distinct shortage of skilled workers which seems to be the largest problem for an even larger economic growth. Both the public and the private sector are having black figures on their P&L's these days. The trade profit is staggering. Depends... If you go the university way, it goes like basic school -> high school - > university Grades are the number system that Rosbjerg outlined. Other more specialised educations exists. Like trade school, various crafts (sometimes a master/apprentice relationship thing) and so on. As for your original questions, Rosbjerg got close enough to most, that I wont disagree with him (about customs, traditions etc.).
  3. A few questions... 1) I got a nice red dragon hide from one of my hunting trips. How do I use that in crafting? It lists a few armour types for which it can be used, yet those armour types all require more than one hide/ingot. I tried the molds just with the dragon hide, then the mold with dragon hide and "filling up" with a quantity of other materials to no avail. Do I need to find two more red dragons to kill? 2) My manual and the in-game description of Eldritch knight has *very* differnt oppinions about the requirements. Which one is correct? 3) The Warpriest PrC says something to the effect of getting a priest spell level for every second Warpriest level. Does that mean, if I pick, say 7 levels of priest and 10 level of Warpriest, I would have a frenzied, mouth frothing killing machine casting spells like a 12th level cleric? Some examples in the manual would have been nice. I've now started on my 5th "second game", just can't make my mind up which class to stay with. I miss my Duellist. Even kept the Duellist garb from deeking, my fedora and my +3 rapier until the very end. Only when the portal insisted on a very special weapon did I discard my trusty rapier :'(
  4. I guess I'm joining the bandwagon of those who are considering building a new system... I need something that is a) fast and 2) stable. I've had a look at the new quad core technology and searched around a bit to see if there were any motherboards around that would support dual processors with quad core cpus (i.e. for a total of 8 cores) but couldn't really find any. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places. I've got some applications that are optimised for multiprocessor environments, so I would (I assume) benefit from multiple cores. Since I would like to use the machine for gaming as well, what is the current most bang for the buck gfx cards out there? I've only ever used first matrox then nvidia cards. I've never really had any issues ever with compatibility, neither with games nor with opengl compliance for the gfx software. ATI has a more dubious reputation with it's drivers... Will Windows XP Professional handle the multiple cores/cpus or is that server OS territory only? I'm so *not* going to buy into the Windows Vista thing  Oh, and I won't need it before March, 2007, so if there is some new technology on the doorstep of 2007, so much the better. Any recommendations what to look/search for, pretending that price doesn't matter ?
  5. Well... As fantastic as Firefly was (and it was), it doesn't even begin to measure up against (the new) Battlestar Galactica. (although I suppose since BSG came out after Firefly, what you're sating is technically true, it's just that even better has appeard since ) I never got around to watch the new BSG series
  6. Maybe it's some leftover of Go-To's programming...
  7. Lets not rush it for a Christmas release." Too late to edit my previous post I guess
  8. Thats more like it... only 50 minor issues left. Amost there with a new version number. You guys haven't planned anything for christmas, right? :D
  9. If they want to sell me crappy dvds they could at least have done it with out the remastered and edited drivel that he (Lucas) is pushing like a bible sales man
  10. You are like missing out on the best sci-fi series since Lexx Should you ever get a chance to watch a few episodes, do you self a favour and spend the time doing so
  11. Been there, checked them out in a local retail store... (i'm too lazy to retype my impressions) http://www.winterwind-productions.com/foru...opic.php?t=4417
  12. The Bioboards are the "official" NWN2 forums according to Atari. That would be the proper place to address grievances with Atari and much more so if you expected some kind of official/semi official reply.
  13. Probably not a lot. The Japanese would still have attacked Pearl Harbour and the Soviets would most likely have steam rolled all of Europe and the rest of the surrounding continents.
  14. Don't ever turn your back on the big male ones...
  15. I'm beginning to think that you've received one of those chain letters where they ask a whole bunch of worthless questions, that really can't be answered, and now you're just posting each question as an individual topic. His programmer is still working on his script. Just wait for Eddo37 I don't think the original question can be answered in a way that makes sense. Countries doesn't grant you anything except perhaps an identity. People (Goverments?) do things, countries just are as far as I know.
  16. The Lucasarts marketing machine is getting up to hype... erhh hyper speed again. They probably need some quick cash to start up new projects. Best of my butt.
  17. That is a contradiction in terms. History is essentially the catalogue of actions perpetuated by individuals / groups of individuals/ nations in the past. In the past, correct. I was pointing out that the statement could not be correct and as far as I can tell, you seem to agree. While history may influence the present, it does not do so nearly to the point of eliminating free will. Is Germany going to come after the Allies anytime soon because they lost WW2? Why not? Grudges can last a very long time. You only need to look at Greek/Turkish relations, the former Yugoslav states, Chechnia, Armenia, Kurdistan, Hans Island, You name it. Grudges can last several generations without breaking a sweat. Don't be surprised if a newly militarised Germany becomes way more bellingerent (Sp?) against Russia over things like Koeningsberg/Kaliningrad etc. Seriously, people are still filing lawsuits against the german state demanding recompensation for wrongdoings almost two generations ago. Some day they might just be fed up with that image and start flexing their muscles a bit. Stranger things has happened.
  18. No idea (honest)... Your country is not a fixed thing, when you live in different countries where you don't have citizenship, only permits and visas. At least I've got a good excuse for not voting at any elections and can happily ignore local politics :-"
  19. Because nobody has been strong enough to "liberate" all of it yet. Not for lack of trying mind you Alexander tried, the Romans tried, the Mongols tried, the Spanish tried, the English tried, the Americans would love to try etc. Yet none has yet come up with the strength to clean the entire house of it's former inhabitants so to speak and keep them out (to stay with the original allegory of kicking your neighbour out). Somebody is bound to come along every century with the idea that "his" people is the chosen master race and all other races/parties/religions/ideologies are inferior and must be replaced with your own. Who knows, somebody might succeed some day. Evolution in action... Edit: In some ways, you could argue that the world is a society by itself, it just has a very high threshold of tolerance for infighting before it's constituent members unify and act against single members.
  20. Are you asking this as a serious question? Micro: Well, if you and your neighbour were the only two people in the world, you might be able to "liberate" his home and kick him out. Assuming that you are physically capable of subjugating him. Micro/Macro: Since it's unlikely that you are the the only two people in the world (which would make me your neighbour  ), other rules apply. Part of being a member of society, be it a gang, a country, a political party etc. is the mutual commitments and rules that governs behaviour, responsibilites and so on. If you are both part of a society that has rules which states, that you can not kick out your neighbour because he is unable to hang on to his property, that society will gang up on you and kick you out in return, giving your neighbour his home back. Macro: This is where it gets messy and usually pretty bloody, when two organised groups (again, gangs, nations, political parties whatever) decides that they need to kick their neighbours out of their homes (because their homes needs to be "liberated" in the name of all that is right and holy and so on). The principle is the same as in the Micro example, might makes right. Sometimes you have a choice of which part you belong to, sometimes it's an accident of birth whether your are doing the "liberating" or being "liberated".
  21. *Taking notes*... Bedlam definitely didn't do anything. I don't think I even tried Bloodboil when playing a Tremere because the Malkav powers didn't do anything. Maybe I should try the game again once I get enough of NWN2
  22. You don't say. That ending actually surprised me a bit. Of course, it was also my first play through, not knowing what to expect In later play throughs, I made a point of specialising in at least one form of combat, as "special" offensive bloodline powers seemed to just bounce off bosses.
  23. If you side with the Kuei-Jin, you'll discover a completely different use for the sarcophagus Side with the enemy? Such an unkindred act to do. Kuei-Jin are for killing. It was an act of convenience  My not at all combat oriented Malkav couldn't beat them :"> If you can't beat them, join them (w00t)
