...having horror visions of a galaxy where 90% of the population is either jedi masters or sith lords... ...filled with cackling evil laughter... ...Yoda/Gremlin lookalike ninjas flipping all over the place... ...people on the street instantly sprouting jedi powers if you greet them... ...worlds suffering from famine and disease with light sabers in every empty piece of pottery and former bread baskets... ...the most common family name is "Darth"... ...black markets where crystals are sold at prices that makes real world black market plutonium seem cheap by comparison... ...The Horror!...

Well, hello Lord Elden. Nice to see a familiar Paladin... How do you explain the beauty 8x8 pixel modifed ascii charaters in 16 colours to a crowd who is more worried about clipping errors, shader models and badly designed ragdoll physics?

It was also the common belief of the allied militaries in 1914 ... and 1915, 1916, and 1917 ... Operation Barbarossa was planned to last like what? 6 weeks? Edit: Just to stay on-topic... still 49 issues. Is that good (no increase) or bad (no decrease)?!? -
With an engine like Unreal 3, it should be possible to implement a sufficiently realistic physics model for a game of dwarf tossing

Colonialism doesn't really count, as many of the territories weren't considered "sovereign countries" (assumption on my part: not populated by Europeans). You have to be a properly acknowledged sovereign nation state to qualify Edit: If the colonial powers couldn't argue that the territory wasn't sovereign, they could always try plan B, subversion of neighbours and/or destabilisation which would justify a takeover.

I could look that up, but I'm assuming you can inform us in a more entertaining fashion. Lazy bugger... http://www.answers.com/topic/westphalian-sovereignty Short version: Westphalian sovereignty is the concept of nation-state sovereignty based on two principles: territoriality and the exclusion of external actors from domestic authority structures. I.e. countries should mind their own business. It was all the rage in 1648

I think he is advocating the principle of Westphalian Sovereignty

Hmm. Insufficient Data, Unable to Compute! A few more questions about your setup then... Is your modem in addition to an existing connection? If so, is it set as your primary internet connection (instead of your old/existing one)? Have you set up default gateway and DNS in your tcp/ip configuration for your modem connection? Does the 'ipconfig' command give any hints as to what your computer thinks it is doing right now? Depending on the answers, more questions may follow...

Can you get access to the net using ip numbers instead of names? I.e. 67.19.132.178 instead of forums.obsidianent.com? Just wondering if it is your DNS settings, since you noticed that "something" seemed to have access.

And thus, another anniversary for a heinous and tragic event is created.

Makes you wonder what they do with that info... a recruiting campaign? -
The worst of the series, but I still kind of enjoyed it. But then, during that time we were on a heavy TR kick, buying 2 copies of almost all the TR's so we could play at the same time etc. Maybe it's more fun when you can holler/laugh to your spouse about something in the game. I finally gave up when I had to attack the wolf with that guy (with the pizza-cutter weapon that I couldn't use for the fight). I've never had to stop a game due to the controls before. Or since. I sort of gave up on the franchise after TR IV (which I didn't finish, which was a first at the time for an old TR fan). I guess I missed out on all the crap fun that is Chronicles and Angel of Darkness. If you happen to run across TR Legends in the bargain bin, give it a try. It was a pleasant surprise.

I know there are, at least, a couple of people on this forum who agree. I'm one of them. Not saying it's the worst game (or even a "bad" game), just among the least good games that I paid good dollars for, enjoyment wise, as per the original posters question. I.e. *you bought*, not *ever made*

I would get a Cobra Mk. III and find a profitable trade route, like the Sol - Barnards Star route >_

Well, I've bought some pretty bad games for my C64 too, but those were between 1/4 and 1/2 of the price of PC games, so it doesn't "feel" so bad. I use the enjoyment vs. expense ratio to measure what I feel as the "worst"

It's a toss up between NWN1, Deathtrap Dungeon and Tombraider III

Wasn't there some "Floating Text"'s above the prison guards, generally telling you to not go in there in the first place? I seem to remember being shredded, just because I walked past the door opening and one of them could see me. They don't really encourage visitors and the guys behind bars more or less deserve to be there. You may or may not discover why they are there. I never did try the prison break thing after my first nasty surprise...

Unfortunately, one of the best melee weapons (The Mega Power Fist) in the game is using your hand-to-hand combat skill (if I remember correctly). Otherwise, the Ripper (Sp?) is quite nice. Using a Laser Pistol and the Ripper Chainsword in combat, I could create a pretty good imitation of my Imperial Guard Captain...

I don't particularly like 40K. I read the rules, but the price of the minitures to play the game was prohibitive. I rather see a nice near future hardcore sci fi CRPG. Thats the beauty of it, you don't need the miniatures to play a crpg. No painting, no cutting, no super-glueing your fingers together... (said the guy who has a 24 squad Valhallan army :blush10: ) Do yourself a favour and grab some of the old source books if you can, Rogue Trader, Slaves to Darkness, The Lost and the Damned etc.

Bad Karma? ... There is just no escaping HM Revenue and Customs. Lady Di didn't, Mark Langford didn't...

... We should start a lobbying group, to maximise our voices and the impact of our oppinions I am all for Obsidian taking on some of the darker sides of the Warhammer 40K universe (as if it had anything else).
