  1. Heh? Nines Rodriguez is anything but what u'v mentioned up there. Pretty civilized cat if you ask me. He did seem more like a Toreador. Is it only Brujahs that can be anarchs? I managed to fall through the footpath in Chinatown. Very fitting surreal experience for my male Malkavian
  2. Well for that, you can flip the screen sideways for an uber portrait view, I don't know how many widescreen LCDs support it, but my Dell one does It's a bit awkward with my current laptop... But I am coincidentally looking for a new monitor myself (because I gave the old one away when moving from New Zealand to Australia), so I'm quite curious about other peoples recommendations I was actually looking for a new TV as well and decided that plasma screens were preferable (for me) over LCD's because I'm not happy with the colour management in the latter.
  3. Umm, which work software? Programs like Word and Excel benefit from the extra real-estate. Hmm... Visual Studio, Microsoft Business Solutions, Various imaging software, various 3D applications, Web design (where you also feel the lack of intensive colours/colour correctness), plenty of stuff that makes more sense to work with in "portrait" rather than "landscape" orientation really @ "Cantousent": By all means, go for the best picture quality. Preferably, you could see a reseller where they have them lined up for comparison. A word of caution though if you do that. Sometimes, they deliberately manipulate image quality in order to sell a certain make a model (actually, that was a warning from my little brother who works for reseller). You don't have to buy from that reseller, just do some window shopping and then buy the one you like where you get it the cheapest
  4. I've got two issues with LCD's... they have crappy colours (compared to CRT's in a similar price range) and they seem to be mostly available in widescreen format now, which suck when you need it for work purposes, not only for watching dvds/divx movies
  5. Funny... the game (The Hobbit) was the reason why I read the book. I just couldn't figure out how to solve some of the puzzles and in the end, I decided "A what the heck!" and read the book. I completed the game and became a Tolkien fan at the time. Off to tbhe library to see what that guy else had written.
  6. It isn't really "public" as you can't find it with the official updater tool. I think it's mostly for the geeks who hang around message boards and look for the information and availability of patches. Who knows, they might or might not listen to the feedback they get from the voluntary beta testers
  7. The Beeb was the best 8 bit computer ever. Unfortunately it never got the software support it deserved (I had one too for a while) :'(
  8. Isn't the use of counterfeit money a federal offense? :D
  9. Awsesome I wonder if it could be turned into a SWAT type weapon... Bad guy hiding behind concrete wall? No problem, aim the Tarna device in his direction and hit the "On" switch. He should be medium rare in 60 seconds Edit: @Jorian: Hey, the Hungarians are famous for their umbrella technique
  10. The defacto homepage of the greatest computer game ever made, "Lords of Midnight": http://www.icemark.com/tower/index.html
  11. Wouldn't it also destroy the microwave? ^_^ Perhaps they (the Canadians) were trying to flood the market slowly. If all coins ended up having transmitters, there would be nowhere to hide. The masters of industrial espionage would suddenly be the ones spied upen  Edit: Can we have Hans Island when you are done mauling the canadians?
  12. Some sea slugs have tentacles... wouldn't that qualify as arms?
  13. Gorth

    IQ test..

I'm getting too old for this...
  14. I hope he finishes it in NWN2. I for one would like to try it (and there is a snowballs chance in hell, that I would buy an expansion for NWN1 to be able to play it)
  15. No self respecting Malkavian would know what he was talking about
  16. Tsk tsk tsk... Neeshka is just sooo much better with a tail. There is something about tiefling tail Now off to check out the beta patch.
  17. Hey, stop that. It has some very nice sewers! (said the guy who prefers Nosferatu)
  18. I used to win it it all the time. I always hated the lack of a save and reload options in that game
  19. Tons of Lego. It made for excellent outdoor toys too. The sandbox was 80% sand and 20% Lego :"> Everything from crawlers over walkers to sailing devices. First powered by rubber bands (as was most catapult type Lego devices) to electrical powered ones ("overclocked", using the 12v electric train powersupply to drive the old 4.5v electric Lego engines). Apart from that, a bit of "Action Man" and a *lot* of plastic kits from grand old names like Airfix and Matchbox. I think that at one time, I had the complete sortiment that those two companies offered. If not, then prety close Add to that, the little chemist set, easy access to charcoal, nitrates, sulphur and other interesting stuff (and some long dead relative who left behind a bag of cordite) :D
  20. You know, it took my about 12 years to finally learn how to joust in that game! It only took me 2
  21. Good endings. So rare, let's see: Defender of the Crown - In true Cinemaware Style PS:T - Yeah, sort of nice. Would have been even nicer with more possible end result cinematics? Forbidden Forest - Riverdance meets 8 bit graphics (the music was awesome though) Tombraider - While the FMV's might look pretty archaic a decade later, they were impressive back then Sadly a short list for now of those that springs to mind. I might remember more later after watching a few other contributions.
  22. Agreed. I just thought spotting the good ones might be more challenging
  23. They should introduce the Haka for the cricket team. It might help
