Are you going to get Vista?
Once they tie me up and place me in front of the firing squad unless I swear allegiance, I'm not likely to. Not for "gaming" or "media" reasons anyway. Using my computer for traditional media was/is an added bonus, not the purpose for which I got it. DRM can rot in hell for all I care Since PC games are becoming increasingly rare (at least it appears so), dx10 is not a motivator. I need games, I'll go look for wii, ps3, whatever.

Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
Agree to a certain point I might be wrong, but I do seem to remember that both Fallouts had a (sort of) scaling system too, in that the random encounters increased in difficulty the further south you moved on the overland map. But since you weren't really forced to spend all your "outdoor" time in the southern half, you could just move to areas where enemies of a type you felt like bashing were more likely to be encountered. Felt like fighting plants and rats? Stick to Arroyo and surroundings for a while, feel like some power armoured, gauss gun wielding enclave thugs, hang around the area of umm... can't remember the name of the base anymore :"> I don't mind a good challenge at all. It's just that when it gets systematically kept at a certain difficulty level compared to your own abilities, some of the fun disappears. Of course, if my level 2 vault dweller falls down a pit of hairy deathclaws, some of the fun might disappear too For me (personal taste stuff), a nice mix would be to give you a chance of "getting back" (wiping the floor with them) at those who made your life miserable in the early part of the game and then use the harder encounters as stumbling blocks between you and special accomplishments, like solving sidequests, discovering that the earth isn't flat, etc. And since this is Fallout, it ought to be an option to solve at least the critical path and a number of sidestuff without always having to build the ultimate optimised combat machine Just my 0.25$

Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
Scaled encounters are annoying. They take all the fun out of levelling up You feel like you never make any progress (except that the loot grows fatter). Oblivion is by far not the only game guilty of that though. There is something perversely satisfying in frying 30 mewling opponents in a firestorm (whether it be magical or napalm) and be done with it so you can move on

A List of "Good DS" and "Evil LS" People
I don't think she intended to kill the force, just study the exile and see how "it works" when somebody severs the connection and seems to be able to still walk and breathe. I can't remember the exact quote, but I think she mentions something to the effect that it is indepence from, not death of the force she wants. Interesting exercise... Atton could also be neutral evil, he does have a past as a sith assassin. Bao-dur would be lawful neutral? He was willing to facilitate mass murder on both mandalorians and jedis. Is Nihilus truly evil or is he just hungry?

Should I go to the Game Developers Conference?
I always tell my wallet that it is better to burn out than fade away :"> Once it's done, it is something nobody (short of the amnesia trick) can take away from you. Is it an opportunity? Go for it if you are serious about it And if there are booth babes, then remember to bring your camera.

Human sacrifice: Central teaching of Christianity?
Brian: Look. You've got it all wrong. You don't Need to follow me. You don't Need to follow anybody. You've got to think for yourselves. You're all individuals. Crowd: YES! WE'RE ALL INDIVIDUALS! Brian: You're all different. Crowd: YES. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. Folowr5: I'm not. Crowd: Ssssh. Sssh. A brilliant movie that mocks the sheep who follow without questioning.

These guys don't really understand the concept of "Deadlines"... they keep adding pictures  Yeah, Ed's beeing playing too much minesweeper on his pc again.- TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline

You're Hungarian, but you don't know who Otto Skorzeny was? Perhaps they are trying to forget their past :D SS Obersturmbannf- Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
Point is, you can make a game that is aimed at a group of people who has some very different expections from what the developer would like to do. MOO fans weren't really thrilled about MOO2, but they didn't exactly go on a religious crusade to have it banned from stores. MOO3 however, was so vastly different that it didn't appeal to old fans, because it was part of an established (sort of) franchise it didn't really appeal to new fans. Of course it didn't help either that it was a crappy game. Sometimes I do wonder what the heck Bethsoft wanted with that licens (besides subsidise Herves FOOL project) Odds are, the crowd of people who like that glorified diablo clone called Oblivion would have kissed the ground that Todd & Co walks on if they had just announced that they are doing a grungy sci-fi version of Oblivion and few people would have been unhappy.- Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
Does Master of Orion 3 ring a bell...?- Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
As long as they deliver a game that has plenty of brothels, gratuitous sex, violence, gore, 50'es retro sci-fi feel viable alternative ways of solving problems, I won't object too much. What scares me is the writing capabilities and design decisions that went into Oblivion. It just doesn't inspire a lot of confidence yet. It would be more fun to whine if they had actually revealed anything about the game besides it's not going to be "not what we do best" or however that quote went (almost as ominous as a death threat).- Ray gun makes targets feel as if they are on fire
...having visions of of fast moving armoured assault vehicles, armed with huge nozzles spraying superglue on the crowds... Gives new meaning the the term *Freeze! Don't move!*- Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360???
I remember Pariah from Fallout 2. Bad dog, baaad dog!....- Vista gaming will be 10 to 15% slower than XP
A Mac or Linux game console? It's not like you can get them to produce games for pc's en masse anymore. That being said, I think I'll go out and buy myself an extra Windows XP Pro next payday for my current WIP computer. Better grab them while they are still there. I'll wait a few years before seriously considering Vista.- Hungarian Nomad/Wanderer
Who needs to understand what they are saying anyway? :D- Obsidian Art Challenge: Dreams
I find Dimitris kind of "Spooky". Like somebody trapped inside their own brain, searching for a way out. Go towards the bright light...- Hungarian Nomad/Wanderer
Looks like a Magyar version of Monty Pythons "Eric the Viking". Without understanding the language, it's a bit hard to evaluate the humour, be it good or bad- What are you playing now?
I remember this tactic being especially effective. For all their hard shells, they've got brains like... lobsters Unfortunately I just got around to build my first M.C. lab, so it's going to be months before I develop sufficient M.C. skills to rely on it to work. Once it does however, bases become somewhat easier as you can have quite a few those lobsters fight it out amongst themselves before putting your men at risk. - Human sacrifice: Central teaching of Christianity?
