What a Baby is Alive?
The cynic in me says, the fetus has great value to the cosmetics industry whereas the person with a fatal disease only has a future as soap (soylent green?)... On a more serious note, why are you so dead set on attributing a "value" to a fetus. For all I know, the fetus is part of the mother, being physically part of her body (through that cable thing which I can neither spell nor pronounce in english), very much the same way as a mothers hand is attached to her shoulder through her arm. Once they get "seperated", yes, then they are two different beings. Well, just one point of view

NWN2: Discussion
You have to trick him. Lead him out into the middle of the floor and then pull the lever for the trap door. He'll fall down into a pit full of rabid users ^_^ It is pretty annoying though, that your protagonist becomes the chosen one, every time you have some kind of interaction with other npcs. You can have somebody else with superior conversation and appraise skills, but in the end it will always be your protagonist who gets chosen for the talking and bargaining. I also wonder if it is for the sole purpose of rendering tracking mode, listen and spot skills useless that several places uses hook horrors instantly spawning opponents?

A New PC
Can any of the Windows gurus out there tell me about the number of processors supported for Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista (whatever similar version) ? No fun in planning for a monster hardware if you have to run MacOS on it then... or being forced to install Windows Server 2003 in order to play Baldurs Gate Does multicore (i.e. quad core) count as multiple processors for licensing purposes? I.e. if the OS allows two cpus, would that be two physical cpus or one dual core cpu?

TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline
Are you sure about that number? On page 48 it says only 43 minor problems are being tracked... what happened? If you look at the bottom line, it says 167 open and 596 resolved issues (problems). Edit: Thats on the progress report page on their website.

Nice work tarna. You should just have replaced the links with other links, like your favourite game company, anonymous alcoholics, anti drug treatment plans, what have you

Jagged Alliance 3 News
I seem to remember having downloaded a mod by that (or a similar) name not that long ago. Perhaps I should give it a try Edit: It sounds a bit like playing Icewind Dale in Heart of Fury mode.

Jagged Alliance 3 News
The only ones I remember beeing able to overrun a well trained milita were the Crepax (Sp?) critters that would ocme out of the mines at night. And that only until I kill the bug queen. Otherwise, a militia with both veteran and elite troops in it will be able to hold off pretty much anything the queen throws at them. Goes for SAM sites as well.

Jagged Alliance 3 News
What difficulty setting are you playing on? Just curious if that affects the militias skill when fighting off enemy troops.

Saddam Hussein Goes to Meet Allah
69 years old... I guess it was a race against time to get him hanged before he died of natural causes.

Jagged Alliance 3 News
I've only tried Heroes of Might and Magic (V I presume?) of those on the list, and frankly, I'm not sure that is a recommendation. While technically, it might be very good, I found it completely lacking in the "Soul and Atmosphere" department. Jagged Alliance is more than just turn based combat to me.

The Escapist: The Rise and Fall of Troika
I think that goes for more than just games development. There is a reason why good project managers costs you a fortune. And why they are worth the investment

NWN2: Discussion
I just noticed something slightly amusing on my cloth map. It looks like the location of crossroad keep is called "Helms Hold" on the map. I wonder if they were "borrowing" a bit of inspiration from The Two Towers. Anyway, I had the "oddest" combat with a duo of dragons that I can remember (ok, so it's the only game where I've ever fought two dragons at the same time but never mind that). Trying to do less powerplay and just bring a mix of party members to see Nolaloth, I brough Zhjaaeve (Sp?), Grobnar, Sand and Elanee (and myself, an Eldritch knight). As it turned out, it wasn't much of a fight. Sand brought down the hitpoints of the first enemy with two well placed Meteor Swarms. Easy kill, even for a non combat oriented party. Now for the real killer... Sand killed the second dragon outright with a finger of death spell. They hadn't even chewed their way through my first stoneskin yet before they were lying on their backs, all four limbs jutting into the air. I guess even dragons can fail their fortitude save...

Jagged Alliance 3 News
Translation: We can't be bothered to do a JA3, because, frankly, we don't know how to get the mix right that creates a total greater than the sum of it's parts. Yet another mediocre squad combat game in the horizon. I'm surprised that they didn't throw in real-time action too, just to rub some salt in the wound. Jagged Alliance franchise...

Happy Christmas
Christmas is seriously overrated. As is mothers day, fathers day, valentines day, every crappy artificial "Go spend more money" day You would think people were wiser than falling for the massive spam attacks. Oh, and I bought myself some nice furniture for Christmas (I'm a hypocrit) :">

Space Strategy Games
I only have two major problems with MOO2. One is that "Creative" is massively overpowered/underpriced and the other one is some of the reproducable bugs that crashes the game (hitting enter without entering a filename when saving and when having the warp interdictor device when the computer AI tries to retreat from a losing battle springs to mind). It's still the best of it's kind around though. The only two runners up I know of is Reach for the Stars for Commodore 64 and Space Empires IV. The first is from before half of the people around here were born and the latter just isn't as fun as MOO2
