  1. You still had to chose your markets though, by assigning them priorities. When I compete on 20+ markets, you bet I don't pause the game all the time to check if they are all filled up according to my desires. I notice when competing constantly fail in a place, because the number of merchants is constantly low or even dimishing despite me sending merchants there. Then I go check the market to see what has changed and what I am up against. Usually a foreign market where the controller has gained monopoly (and your compete chance is 1% against the monopoly holder). You can then either give it lower priority (make sure your merchants get sent to more profitable areas) or drop it completely from your list of destinations... or conquer the territory and make it domestic market Ok, now I almost owe a screenshot.
  2. To simplify it, some Australian states don't use daylight saving. So those you used to be half an hour behind, you are now half an hour ahead of
  3. And what in the new system prevents you from using strategy in distributing your merchants?
  4. Honestly, vanilla EU3 needed the addition of the "Autosend Merchants" option in Napoleon's Ambition badly. Either that or leave it out completely. The mechanism was not suited for a more than a few markets at best.
  5. I know this thread is derailing pretty fast...
  6. Not exactly what you had in mind, but I always found this to be one of the most stunning pieces of case modding: Steampunk Victorian Laptop Speaking of clockworks, that guy must have too much time on his hands.
  7. Not really playing yet, just "sampling" a few new purchases. Installed and patched S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky. It looks great and with the ambient sounds is just a spooky and atmospheric as I had hoped for. As for gameplay? Time will tell Currently installing The Witcher EE. Talk about filling up the box Game manual, game guide, small novel plus 3 disks. One with the game, one with the game soundtrack and music inspired by the game and one with some bonus game content and a "The making of" movie.
  8. Oooh... it runs hot allright. Hence my fear that it might fry my sound card as collateral damage Burnt my fingertip when accidentally touching the card the other day
  9. Ehhh... Whatever causes heat when eletric circuitry operates. Physics classes are way too many years ago, so whatever converts electrical energy into heat. Current, meet Resistace, Resistance, meet my friend Current? The more operations you force the card to undertake, the more current it draws, the hotter it gets. Gorth's solution? Dip it in water
  10. I like silent computers
  11. TSLRP is more exciting for me than anything LA/EA/Bioware may decide to do with the franchise at the moment
  12. Only 1.4kg, thats not bad. Especially if you can run a lot of classics on it, besides work
  13. Well, the card is unfortunately not designed that way. It has it's own "airduct" which is why it takes up two slots on your backside. One slot used for connectors, one slot is the outlet of air from the fan. I.e. very hard to sound proof. Even as it is, it runs to hot that I am occasionally worried that it might fry my soundcard which is located just above it. Watercooling is usually more efficient in getting the temperature down. Besides, when the hoses and everything else is there, I might as well hook up the second largest heat generator on the circuit
  14. Took a walk into the city, enjoying the spring weather. Slightly cool, but pleasant. Went into Dymock's (a bookstore) and grabbed a handful of Black Library books: "Gaunts Ghosts - Only in Death" (I think I'll start with that one) "Gotrek and Felix - Elfslayer" (oh, how I love that title!) "Palace of the Plague Lord" (no idea if it's good or bad, but I've liked C.L. Werners work so far) and a big heavy hardback art book, "The Horus Heresy - Collected Visions" On my way back, I made the mistake of stopping by E.B. Games. Grabbed "The Witcher EE", "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky" and "Painkiller - Overdose". Now i need to flip a three-sided coin to make up my mind what to play first
  15. Thread pruned a bit. Let's try and keep this about DRM, no more, no less.
  16. Which is a great game when you have both expansions
  17. And so this journey ends... Continued here
  18. Start of old thread End of old thread Queen - March of the Black Queen
  19. Thread pruned a bit. Lets keep this one on topic, as the subject does merit a "safe" place for earnest discussion.
  20. I miss Eldar (brutally mudered and hidden in Cantousents basement) and Phosphor (wasted away and succumbed to the WoW disease. Nasty case of MMO).
  21. ...and I find it rather tasteless wanting to kill a bunch of people you don't know, based on ethnicity or just the misfortune of being born in a troubled geographic region...
  22. I know the feeling. Bought Heavy Metal FAKK2 a number of years ago. Never could make it run off the disc. Guess which "shady" step was the only one that could make the game run like advertised? Took me a year to figure... No, I am not a friend of DRM, not even the old cd check ones.
  23. This way
