  1. 30 days to build a pyramid? Where is there a Pharaoh when you need one?
  2. Continued from old joke... https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/129222-funny-stuff-which-website-did-chewbacca-get-arrested-for-creating-wookieleaks/
  3. For those who are in for the long joke...
  4. Sooo many naughty boyhood dreams...
  5. Sometimes guys needs to compensate for "shortcomings" in other areas if you get my drift. Sometimes it manifests itself as over the top brutality, aggressiveness or bullying. Heck, you see it on the internet too, when guys feel insecure in their masculinity
  6. Something about Boeing and staying in the air just seems to not mix... (laughing because nobody was killed) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64645457 "US air safety officials say they will investigate why a Boeing 777 jet unexpectedly lost altitude and nearly plunged into the Pacific Ocean" No, it wasn't a Boeing 777 Max
  7. Old but not out... I remember these old Leopard 1 tanks (I used to live near the coast as a young man, where the army had the target practice and general training area for gunnery and the occasional large scale NATO maneuvers) https://mil.in.ua/en/news/denmark-will-hand-over-leopard-1-tanks-to-ukraine/ I thought Denmark had sold them as scrap. Turned out they were sold to a German company to be converted into some other kind of military vehicle. Now they (the Danish government) are buying them back, to be refurbished according to Ukrainian needs and then to be shipped off to the Ukrainian army instead. Old, but still with decent fire control equipment and a nice 105mm gun. I think they last saw active combat in Bosnia several decades ago by now...
  8. True or not, I don't know as I'm no professional in such things, but read from multiple sources that true empathy in humans isn't really fully developed until past teenage years. Hence why kids can be cruel, vicious little bastards taking scissors to cats whiskers or fry ants under the sun with with a looking glass with glee... on a similar note, male juveniles have particularly slow developing brains when it comes to the part of the brain that is responsible for assessing self (own capability) and risk. Hence why they (young males) are the source of many groans and hand wringing at insurance companies (because they cause the most and the most serious car accidents) Edit: Iirc, that part of the male brain is seldom developed until after around 25 years
  9. Depending on who you ask, those objects will either be Russian, Chinese, Deep State, BLM or Greenpeace (spying on Candian seal clubbing) objects
  10. Nothing to see here, move on!…
  11. I'm still looking for a reason for *why* I should upgrade from 10 to 11 Nobody has so far presented a good case for why it would be a good idea. Microsoft trying to trick me using every trick in the marketing beginners handbook, with prominent OK and tiny cancel buttons to the placement of the options and dark zones just makes me even more reluctant to do so.
  12. As said, I wasn't quite sure which, if any of the two were part of the WP. Maybe neither. But in the western mindset in the 70's it was regarded as commie/socialist territory and therefore only one step removed from eternal damnation Edit: Don't get me started on Albania and Hoxha (the only true friend China ever had, to the point where Albanian was the only second language being taught in Chinese schools, making it one of the worlds most spoken languages, even if just as a second language)
  13. Oh... just saw the local news. I better take in my garden furniture. It's getting windy the next several days... https://7news.com.au/video/news/brisbane-weather/dangerous-conditions-ahead-as-tropical-cyclone-gabrielle-forms-off-queenslands-coast-bc-6319998941112 Luckily it seems like it's moving in a direction parallel to the coast, so it's unlikely to affect the mainland. But... just in case the weather guys got it wrong.
  14. Growing up, Yugoslavia (i.e. Serbia and its friendly neighbours) and Romania were "The Eastern Bloc". Until they decided that the CCCP wasn't their friend and picked the third option so to speak. Not part of EU/NATO, not part WP (I should say affiliated with, as they were not technically WP countries iirc). Nationalism eventually put an end to Tito's Yugoslavia and... people got fed up with the Ceausescu family in Romania. Edit: I remember when Nikolai and his missus got put up against the wall and executed by firing squad. Soooo many red ears in a lot of western countries, because they had all heaped medals and honours on him, because he was a light in the dark, a beacon of freedom standing up to the mighty oppressors in the CCCP. Of course, the guy praised with medals and honours was a worse tyrant and despot than Saddam Hussein.
  15. Oh my, heathen! The sense of relief when I got a gigantic HDD (my first hard drive ever) for my first Commodore Amiga (Amiga 500) was immense. Spent days copying stuff from the 3.5" floppies to the HDD so I could have all software in one place I'm trying to remember what the size was. I *think* it was 10GB, but my memory is a bit fuzzy. I do remember there was a necessary hack to be done because the drive was larger than the normal physical limit for Amiga SCSI drives of 4GB, so larger than that. It was a similar experience to when I got my first floppy drive for my C64.... no longer struggling to find the correct spot on old cassette tapes, where I had saved something. It felt like a HDD at the time!
  16. Look on the bright side. We have an Austrian and a Serb in the same thread and no weapons drawn over whether Franz Ferdinand had it coming. Maybe there is hope for humanity yet (given enough time)?
  17. I can now log into the forums from my work computer without having to install a private email client to authenticate the browser on that laptop. Thank you
  18. Funny thing is... she was a bit undecided on that one, because she hated Novaks guts (did I mention she's very angry?)
  19. Tell that to my Serbian friend in Melbourne at your own peril. I'm 100% she's waiting for Dan Andrews (the PM) to die, so she can dance on his grave and vandalize his tombstone (for ordering lock downs and social distancing, which made her feel like a caged animal). Mind you, she *is* perpetually angry unless you are in her friend circle (which i consider myself lucky enough to be, so I don't need to watch my back) Edit: I.e. uncompromising and unforgiving towards those who "wrong" her and undying loyalty and commitment to those she consider friends (which are people you can count on a single hand)
  20. I suspect this whole conversation is threatening to become a covid thread... Just to not stay on topic, down here it was bad in both Melbourne and Sydney, with groups of people creating picket lines blocking access to vaccination locations and physically attacking people on the street and in public transport, tearing off their face masks because they were the visible symbol of systemic oppression and collectively aiding the Illuminati or whatever. Also, making sure they met up thousands at a time to ensure maximum spread of the virus while violently denying people their right to keep themselves safe from the spread. Sadly way too many of those "anti-vaxxers" survived the epidemic (ironically thanks to everybody else but their own effort) and can now possibly pass on their genes
  21. Entirely anecdotal, but it sort of matches my observations of people around me in this side of the world too... You forgot QAnon believer btw
