  1. Unlike The Winter War, Finland is more likely to get more than just German help this time, if something censored hits the fan.

British Sports (no, not the Monty Python version) 😁
  3. So bad it's probably good? Edit: I *am* a fan of the old Peter Jackson movies 😛 Edit2: For some reason, it goes by a different name on IMDB (Killbots), maybe to avoid confusion with Murderbot Diaries (a book series based on a similar concept)? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26457986/ Edit3: Seems like the original title was murderbots, then the working title became killbots, now the most likely release candidate is murderbots. Confused yet?
  4. No good substitutes for African swallows when it comes to keeping Coconuts afloat then?...
  5. Said minister of course got fired immediately, can't have anyone bringing to your attention that the soldiers on the ground is getting very wary of the government and the unhappiness is spreading in the IDF... But it's not just the IDF that is a source of concern at the moment https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-65097625 "Now with a nation in crisis, all sides watched for the prime minister to act. When he finally appeared on national TV - maximising the impact with a live address at the top of the 20:00 nightly news shows - he began by likening his position to a story about King Solomon. Just as the biblical monarch had to judge which of two competing women was the real loving mother of a baby, he had made his own decision when it came to the two sides contesting his reforms. He announced he was pausing the judicial changes until the next session of parliament, and would "extend my hand" in "compromise" and "dialogue" with parliamentary opponents." Translating from BS to English: "lets save it for a few months and hope the **** storm blows over enough to give myself legal immunity against the corruption charges."
  6. Putin has two cards up his sleeve, which he hasn't played yet. Large stock piles of chemical and nuclear weapons. The moment any war moves on to the Russian side of the border, I do not doubt he'll use them at this point. If the last 12 months showed anything, it's that he doesn't care about casualties, regardless of nationality.
  7. So... $47 instead $2? /shrug
  8. True... maybe that was the pilots original intention, but if it's (the airplane fuel) anything like the fuel on their old Soviet aircraft carrier, it's a mix of coal dust, olive oil, turpentine and a bit of diesel or something calling it mazut, it's probably almost impossible to ignite, even intentionally 😛
  9. I'm sure PST would look nice on the Pillars of Eternity engine
  10. Not surprised they’re Australian, but I thought punk bands had taken the piss on society for decades? 😂
  11. A bit of airplane nostalgia... no, not the Concorde, but the probably way less known F-111. Famous and infamous in Australia. Acquisition was a mess, but it ended up with a very long time in service. Got retired in 2010...
  12. That’s what Putin said… I’ll help myself out 😝
  13. Looks like it's not just the IDF that is against Netanyahu, the defence minister now also rings the alarm bells, predicting a bad end to these attempts at taking direct control of the judicial system (to avoid prosecution) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-65076682 "In a brief televised statement, Mr Gallant described the reform plan as a "clear, immediate and tangible danger to the security of the State". He said members of the Israeli Defence Forces were angry and disappointed, with an intensity he had never encountered before."
  14. Thanks guys. I mostly dealt with it in a couple of years ago. Didn't really get (much) drunk yesterday. Did sift through a lot of old memories though. My dad saw it coming a few weeks ago, so he had taken care of the practical details. I'll go visit Europe next year and we will catch up with a family get together, he, me and my two brothers. Other than that, it was a nice Friday, spending much of the day in a place called Australia Zoo north of Brisbane (a place founded and originally run by Steve Irwin aka "The Crocodile Hunter"). After that, my friends and I went to the beach for a swim. I had almost forgotten how salty ocean water is 😛
  15. There are a number of variations of the below.... But don't panic, the US is not the only country to stand against Metric world domination, it's close allies Myanmar and Liberia bravely stands at it's side! 🇺🇸 🇲🇲 🇱🇷 ✌️
  16. Saw that on the BBC front page yesterday... it would've been funny if it wasn't so sad https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65071989 My first thought was, it sort of makes sense. Somebody somewhere must have given birth to The Florida Man, right?
  17. My mother died last night. I'm, way too far away from Denmark to participate in any funeral arrangements, so I'll have to follow it from afar. Before anyone says condolences or similar, I mourned the death of my mother 3 years ago, when I realized, that she had for all intents or purposes that mattered "died" back then and no longer recognized my dad or any of her children. Her brain had deteriorated almost to a vegetative state long before Covid was a thing, so I'm sort of "over it" and resigned myself to the fact that she was "dead" back then and knew I would never speak to her again. It was just the empty shell of a body that got the memo a few years late. I might still get drunk tonight and pull out some old family photos
  18. @JustLikeAFruitPounder sorry, I messed up the thread title by accident by making a wrong move. Happy to rename it back if you tell me the name, I just don't have any recollection of what the original title was
  19. It's been quite a few years since I played the game, but I seem to remember druid being quite powerful in this game (both offensive and support capabilities)
  20. No specific individuals, but I sometimes listen to the old Alexandrov Ensemble (RIP). Formerly known as the Red Army Choir. They were an excellent group of male Russian singers. Sadly the original ensemble met an unfortunate end in a plane crash in 2016 (before falling out of windows became the latest Russian fashion)
  21. The RC model plane I had as a young man looked more sophisticated 😁 (But then, Graupner made some awesome scale model planes. I think they even exists today, 30-40 years later)
  22. I suspect you are being willfully obtuse here. Examples... in the US until recently, "People" were white, male land owners (We, the people, etc. etc. but only aforementioned group had any rights). In SA for a long while, "people" where white people, in Japan, Gaijin are not recognized as people by especially the older generation and in Myanmar the Rohingya are not considered people by the government. I.e. different places, different definitions of what is people and what is subhuman waste of genes. Laws and rules that protects people only protects those you consider people.
  23. Did somebody say Russian singers?... no, I don't like their music particularly much to be honest, but I remember them because they were one of the first Russian "celebrities" to have a falling out with Putin in public. I think the "conservative" (i.e. way backwards) factions in Russia very much resented the two girls being lovers, LGBT being an occasional de facto death sentence in Russian society then and now.
  24. Carol is easy to underestimate... she may not win the math competition, but her social intelligence is through the roof Also... 2 minutes, two punches 😝
