Neither. I have no idea what you mean, can you give an example?

I suspect you are being willfully obtuse here. Examples... in the US until recently, "People" were white, male land owners (We, the people, etc. etc. but only aforementioned group had any rights). In SA for a long while, "people" where white people, in Japan, Gaijin are not recognized as people by especially the older generation and in Myanmar the Rohingya are not considered people by the government. I.e. different places, different definitions of what is people and what is subhuman waste of genes. Laws and rules that protects people only protects those you consider people.

Okay so we talking about historical realities  and autocratic states like Burma, it definitely wasn't clear because I was confused because I assumed it was about countries where we live

Thanks for clarifying

Fortunately all that is behind us in the countries where we live, and it had no lasting consequences, still being felt today.

The Cases Against Trump: A Guide

the article perhaps oversimplifies a smidge, but am not finding fault in the overall analysis save to note am viewing the fulton, georgia case with a bit less ambivalence.

"Willis has the advantage of the recording of the Raffensperger call, which is close to a smoking gun."

the thing is, there is now three confirmed recordings o' trump pressuring people to find him votes in georgia.  david ralston and an investigator from the georgia state secretary's office also made recordings.  is a small armory o' smoking guns? how many smoking guns is needed to make one confident about a prosecutor's chances? have said previous, and am reiterating, any jury trial involving trump is gonna be uncertain. that said, we would have an extreme difficult time explaining why the people o' georgia did not pursue charges 'gainst trump.

converse, we mentioned in an earlier post how am not confident 'bout the ny case, but am admitted not an expert on ny law. 'course am not even certain what is the charges which may be brought in the ny case, although the speculation 'bout crimes for which trump may be held accountable is based on decent information as 'posed to pure conjecture. even so, bragg's efforts is resulting in more angst than am thinking is warranted.

mar-a-lago and fulton is where we believe trump is most vulnerable. is serious vulnerability in both cases.

HA! Good Fun!

Okay but thats the same example as saying " people aren't considered people due to unjust laws "

@Gorth examples are valid, for example in Apartheid SA non-white people were denied basic rights that are mandatory when we define what a citizen is

So if your point is "Laws and rules that protects people only protects those you consider people" I would disagree that exists  in any country where any of us  live because being  a citizen  grants you certain inalienable rights

Arent you talking about economic inequality, thats not the same thing as not being seen as  a person like in Burma or the US or SA historically?

up until 2016 we voted based on individual candidate character, competence and goals as 'posed to party affiliation, but we tended towards choosing moderate republicans more often than not. the thing is, in 2023, the republicans has become a party which downplays or even defends the the inhumane treatment o' immigrants, the use o' masked federal agents in unmarked vans to kidnap individuals w/o a warrant or even probable cause, the events o' january 6 and book banning. even if we ignore the corpulent orange elephant in the room, am not seeing how is possible to vote conscience and republican in 2023 albeit with one exception.

regardless, even if you are in favour o' fiscal responsibility and small government (which is maybe not current gop values but is definite not major issues for the democrats) am seeing as near impossible to align self with the party banning the kite runner, the handmaid's tale and 1984

am also agreeing raskin is "good at this" kinda thing but admittedly the current gop makes it ez.

HA! Good Fun!

I have to say I'm disappointed, I thought this would be a movie magic thing but you can see him put his hands under the table to take the watch off. I guess the people who would normally edit that out hit the streets.

Sarex I know, Im also  outraged and have  you seen the criminality and looting? Lots of violence from the normal French anarchists and radical left that pretend to be part of the protestors. They jump at any opportunity for violence and anti-social behavior. Dozens of police have been injured

And all because of necessary pension reforms, this type of violence is just shameful

Just more evidence that the radical left has infiltrated the French Police. Indeed, this is the major problem with police today, massive far left wing infiltration and here is the proof!

To use an appropriately French  phrase "o tempora, o mores!", per the old pirate in the Asterix comics.

The French sure have a flair for protesting. Let Uber in? Raise the retirement age by 2 years? BURN IT ALL!

I wonder how much it costs the taxpayers whenever protests turn all smash-and-grab? 🤔

Its  a historical reality and problem in France how people protest and how most of these protests turn  violent. But over the last 20 years anarchists, anti-establishment  groups   and radical left ideologues  infiltrate these protests and cause much more mayhem in the interest of destabilizing the state. Similar to the Yellow Vest protests in France

Like violence you see in BLM protests they dont represent the  majority of people protesting but they are a constant reason for violence

And they dont care about the damage they cause to the  country or the future of France. Its all about " lets destroy what exists and somehow we can rebuild something better " or similar rhetoric and grandstanding

And yet some people still deny the radical left exists or they " not really violent "

Here is really interesting view about why the British shouldnt pay reparations for Colonialism and slavery, I have raised some of these points before that include the reality of slavery and how basically every empire of man practiced slavery yet there is no focus on those reparations like the Ottomans

I disagree with some of things Rafe mentions but I agree with much of it
