  1. That sums it up pretty nicely. I'm fairly sure there is going to be an online market (both legit and not) for printable stuff. Some fun already arose in the US from gun designs you could print (http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn22323-diy-gun-project-misfires-as-3d-printer-is-seized.html)
  2. It's sort of CAD/CAM in for hobbyists. You you need to create 3D models in a modelling app. The printer will then "print" a 3D plastic model from the design.
  3. A bit of verbal spanking sparring between two news anchors... http://youtu.be/fuhuHFQOa4k
  4. I think I still have the original box with Winter Games for my Amiga. I doubt the floppy disk would be readable by now though (they seem to lose their "magnetizing" over the decades) Epyx was one of my all time favourite developers/publishers.
  5. It's fun trying out the different races. Meklars aren't too shabby. So far, I've found Silicoids and Elerians to be the most difficult to play well with. The 'Creative' trait (and by extension Psilons) is just way overpowered, making up for any shortcomings, as long as you survive the very beginning of the game.
  6. Whoa!... congrats Wishing you (and your partners) all the best for the project

    Your sarcasm detector needs re-calibrating
  8. Not much. Just trying to keep my sanity intact until annual leave shows up and knocks on my door... Can't really motivate myself to play video games at the moment, so it's time to swing ye olde paint brush again and pick up on some of the slack (my mountain of unpainted warhammer miniatures).

I'm sure the education levels would have been much higher under the Taliban regime. Being fascinated with natural science, philosophy, fine art and foreign cultures like they are. They appreciation of the Bamyian statues, their promoting of literacy of the female half of the population and cracking down on child abuse and pedophilia is almost on par with their disdain of misogyny.
  10. Whatever happened to the fine art of making fire with two rocks. No appreciation of traditional fire making art these days of matches and lighters Actually, I've found combat to be a chore in most crpgs, starting with the "gold box" games. I'll give rogue likes a free pass, because of nostalgia (being aware that it is nostalgia). There are a few and notable exceptions, but if crpgs are a rare breed, those with good and fun combat are as common as the 21st century dodo. IWD was the last. Generally games built around tactical squad combat with rpg elements seems to fare better when it comes to quality of combat (JA2 and the original X-Com games spring to mind).
  11. I see what you did there entrerix, what a cruel thing to do. Now he'll keep trying to kill the infinitely spawning enemies because he thinks it's possible to kill them all
  12. Gorth are you originally from the Scandinavian countries? Born in Denmark. Got a bit bored with it. Moved first to NZ and lived there for some years, then later to Australia (living for 6+ years here now).
  13. 3 guesses why some of us migrate?

  15. Bonus points to those who can point out when to use comma before 'who' (without using google)
  16. Nice games I got most of those that I want already (so not "applying" for any), but Victoria 2 and The Magica collection are awesome games. Not familiar with the Majesty games.
  17. Thread getting a bit long. More of the days of our lives here
  18. Start of old thread End of old thread Snow... I remember that from some distant past. White stuff, clogging up everything from footpaths to roads, right? Glad it was nothing serious (unless you happened to have a pile of illegal fireworks stashes and it goes off of course)
  19. I might have to check out that no-peragus thing. Does it work with TSLRCM?
  20. Replace capitalism with any system and that statement woudl stil be true. So many systems sound good on paper. Do you have a viable alternative economic system? The Boer war... capitalism in action, how dare those peasants be in the way of our free market Edit: Charles Dickens England was probably the epitome of capitalism. Since then, it has taken a downturn with a number of countries trying to curb it and protect people from it.
  21. Looks suspiciously like this one...
  22. Rarely have I heard gibberish said with such certainty. What exactly are you trying to say? Are you saying that anything financed through kickstarter should be public domain and nobody could build any franchises based on the work they create? Copyright isn't an "intrusive government interference" (this is where I know you are making stuff up as you go along). It's a mechanism that attempts to protect people from being ripped off and protect their work. You do the work, you decide what happens with the result of that work. Not too complicated a concept.
  23. Meanwhile, down under 32+ and blue skies over the weekend. Better check the air-conditioning (rubbing it in) Edit: That's approx. 90F for our North American friends.
  24. Oh dear...
  25. One day, my pet Tyrannosauruses will give me world domination...
