SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Oh, ah well, he actually never did make a LS choice (a dare for myself to see if I could/can do that all the way through the story) I'm contemplating a Jedi play through with a mirror opposite, as in no DS choice whatsoever through the story. Not sure if consular or knight is better for that experiment.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
I prefer to hide my batch, was an error anyway, testing something on my own profile, it should "only" be a gold batch ($1000 pledge) if any Yeah, went with the "light" side option at the end of the Bounty Hunter story. I might have mentioned in passing in the past, that Mako was a bad (good) influence and I ended up with Light IV or some such. My sniper on the other hand is Dark V without a single light side choice to his name (0 - 10000 is the score). He's rotten to the core.

Update #69: Pillars of Eternity
Ok, successfully linked my forum account with the eternity site and got my pledge to show in the list. Answered the question about what the extra $8 was for (the "Order") and I noticed I can now select various badges from drop downs on my forum profile. Backer, Silver backer, Gold Backer and Watcher... what is a "watcher"?

That might be because "smuggler" as a faction makes absolutely no sense. It's still a heck of a lot more coherent than the BH one though (disclaimer: hasn't finished smuggler yet, just started on Corellia, somewhere in chapter 3). At least you have an overarching story, fighting Rogan the Butcher who has been your adversary since you lost his blaster shipment and the murder of Veeto (sp?). Chapter 1 is basically an introduction and 2 and 3 is your life as a privateer after getting a Letter of Marque from the Republic government (fighting Rogan and his Imperial backers). Trooper follows a similar pattern. Chapter 1 is about the defection. Chapters 2 and 3 is about the war that has broken out and gathering and unifying forces for the fight against the Empire while doing the occasional commando type raid against them.

You try telling a Bounty Hunter that to his face That story was a complete and utter incoherent mess between chapters. I had no idea what I was doing chapter 3 (other than follow the step by step guide in the quest log to reach the end of it). Trooper and smuggler made a much better job of coherency (comparatively). At least you know in chapter 3 why you are there

I sort of like Quesh. Sure, there isn't a lot of variety there, but then it's fairly quick and you don't feel like it drags on forever. I guess we all have favourite *and* least favourite places Edit: I've put together a "datacron spreadsheet" now with corresponding galactic history entries, so I suppose one of these days, I'll start taking my oldest characters through the checklist and make sure they at least get the class relevant ones.

Mate, you need to put that in the suggestions forum (because it's a good idea) Count me in as one of those who hope they do more than PVP with the work they've done so far on the space side of things. The old missions are getting *really* boring by now. It's just such a good source for credits and xp when you are not into PVP and can't be arsed to wait an hour or three when queuing as DPS for flashpoints. From Gorth's diary... main character still stuck halfway through Makeb storyline, just can't motivate myself to finish it, one trooper almost done with Corellia (got Ilum to go to finish his class story, so I'll persevere with that one) and my smuggler girl is now level 53, so getting major gear and mods upgrade for herself and all her crew members. My Sith Warrior (DPS Juggernaut) just turned 50 (not at least thanks to the previous double XP weekend), so he'll start doing some of the late stuff too. I figured I need to play either a consular or an inquisitor next? Might try the shadow or assassin tank. Just to try a different type of tank to my Powertech.

toBuy: Video Game Wishlist
I think I arrived at some kind of saturation threshold a few years back. Probably a side effect of having been a gamer for 30 years this December. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, my time is more precious to me than my money these days, so I'm an opportunistic shopper who grabs everything on the shelf when a sale is on and later, if given time, figures out if I got anything that I might want to play. I enjoyed Conquistadors and I pledged for Wasteland 2 and Project Eternity (and most recently 'Stasis'). Other than that, the latest Bioware and Obsidian releases (except DSIII, sorry, but the hack and slash thing just isn't "me") is what I spend my time on when in the mood for gaming.

IE 11 issues
I upgraded my IE, but since I never use it... (Firefox user here). Might have to give it a try with IE. One thing I did notice was that I could kiss my desktop gadgets goodbye. It messed them up completely and they turned all pink (yes, *pink*). There was a fix for it do download from Microsoft which basically just removes your desktop gadget service altogether.

The General General Thread
What, no mention of Rundstedt or Manstein yet? I'll have to do some digging for links and pics Too easy to pick "modern" generals though, as they will have relatively much media coverage. There were some outstanding generals in the Napoleonic era, Spanish conquistadors that subjugated continents with very little resources at their disposal, generals pulling off unlikely victories during the various European wars (100 years, 80 years, 7 years etc.), ancient "Greek" generals fighting off overwhelming odds... each era requiring different skill sets (from a strong sword arm and charisma over political nous and backstabbing skills to just sheer chess champion like strategic thinking skills).

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Since those patches usually run from 19:00 to 2:00 at night, I didn't really get to try it. Might give it a go when I get home today. Ultimately, I just worry that it'll end up as the "ordinary" PVP. A group that plays it to the exclusion of all else, a group (which I belong to) who try it out on casual basis for a while and then forget about it and the last group who couldn't care less. Only Bioware and their metric gathering guys knows the actual numbers if they monitor unique accounts participation in activities. Trying to motivate myself to complete the Makeb story line, but honestly, I've forgotten why I'm there and what I needed those Isotope 5 mines for...

STEAM!
Got my latest purchases downloaded. Went as far as trying to start Dark Souls before uninstalling it again and wrote it off as a complete loss. Starts up in windowed mode (any menus if it got any, outside the visible area), warns not to switch off because it uses save points (WTF? This is the 21st century) and the single dooming feature of insisting that I create a new GFWL account... gave it the middle finger and got rid of it again. At least it was dirt cheap. Hope I got luckier with Mortal Kombat and Enslaved

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Ah, as mentioned, yet to try the operations thing Does the set bonus follow the armour or the mods for those? Completely tangential, but getting the hang of playing with head set, trying out RaidCall. Sure makes for some faster reaction times just in the few flashpoints and encounters I've tried with it. Edit: Do operations drop any decent tank gear? There sure are some gaps (bizarre stat combos) at the com vendors.

Weird News Stories
Amazon.com going to deploy unmanned drones? You never know, *you* may become the target of an unmanned drone some day. "Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, is testing unmanned drones to deliver goods to customers, Chief Executive Jeff Bezos says. The drones, called Octocopters, could deliver packages weighing up to 2.3kg to customers within 30 minutes of them placing the order, he said. However, he added that it could take up to five years for the service to start. The US Federal Aviation Administration is yet to approve the use of unmanned drones for civilian purposes." Slightly worrying actually, next thing you know, you are going to be targeted by spam drones...

Dutch documentary (subtitled) about privacy.
Sort of apropos... Apple buys Topsy Yeah, they got more than just a bunch of twits... "Apple has bought social media data analytics firm, Topsy Labs, which specialises in using data from Twitter to track customer sentiment. Topsy is one of the few firms to have access to Twitter's entire data stream. It has recently created a searchable database of all tweets sent - more than 400 billion - since Twitter's launch." Retention is better than some people seem to think.

So, "tjeeksentmeehai-yee"? I think I better stick to familiar languages (insert Monty Python skit here with Hungarian/English dictionary)
