- Short List of Good Story-Driven RPGs?
Sorry for not having noticed this before: Well, his question was pertaining to the existence of mods, not their quality, but I'll grant you that, their quality (from what I played) is very limited. What makes it worse is that there are extremely few of them, so the drek is more noticeable.- Van Buren Lives...Fallout 4
I'll be running for the Scapegoat Extraordinaire! position, if it's still available.- Van Buren Lives...Fallout 4
You'll attack anyone without reason anyway.- Short List of Good Story-Driven RPGs?
Would you recommend either of those titles? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> VII for PC is a bit of a mess. I've heard that unless you have Win98 and 3dFx class cards, it's going to look messy. Imagine the jagginess and pixelization of the PSX original but worse. This is due in part to the fixed resolution of the PC version. It's pretty much just a straight up port with barely no redeeming qualities. VIII is a tad better all around. It does have a nifty bonus - Chocobo World, the add-on that came out for the PSX version in Japan, is a little executable that comes with the game. IIRC it wasn't released in the US for the PSX.- Quick icon attempts
It's a clockwork mechanism + blue and red sky assemblage. And some assorted effects.- Quick icon attempts

Diablo 1 had great atmosphere, and there were some enjoyable moments in Diablo 2. Divine Divinity was actually a nice surprise as well. The others, well, crapola. Maybe we should just kill two fifths of him?- Short List of Good Story-Driven RPGs?
Yes.- Planescape: Torment LEGO
^That'd be interesting. Star Wars LEGO seems like a fun little game. Having other videogames adhere to that trend might be interesting.- Van Buren Lives...Fallout 4
"- Planescape: Torment LEGO
Thanks to aboyd at the Codex forums, I've found this page that has a series of LEGO custom pieces of the Torment cast. Pretty neat, here's an example: The site has other series, from Metal Gear to Halo. Enjoy.- Van Buren Lives...Fallout 4
Yes, that's me. Gone, then back. I do that sometimes. But yeah, I've been around before.- Van Buren Lives...Fallout 4
Sorry to say this Darque, but I find you're contributing to it at this point.- Necronomicon Ex Mortis
Did it ever had a use at all other than being the home of IPLY forumites?- Darwinia
So did I, but they mostly came after having sex with my girlfriends. Oh you mean the demo? >_> Impressions tomorrow, maybe.- What is your favorite number?

Didn't you know hype is a game feature as well?- Story preferences
Oh and Mnemon, I appreciate the feedback, and the email. I'll be replying to it soon enough- Story preferences

No, that is precisely the point. But bringing up exceptions in AI is what's beside the point. You're basically defending that giving to players a cheap method of awareness that involves zero in terms of their own player skill is acceptable, and perhaps encouraged, because you believe enemy AI is 'cheating' and has more of an advantage than the player. Guess what? AI is almost always meant to have more of an advantage than the player, that's what makes games challenging. It's learning the game's rules and your limitations, and work and prevail against them that makes the whole fun of the game. It all comes down to being able to deal with enemy AI on your own, instead of relying on camera angles that give insight to their positions and movements effortlessly. Either players can deal with it or they can't. A third person camera angle that allows players to see their surroundings effortlessly is almost in the same league as auto-aiming. If you want to tackle the AI "problem" of using rules and means which aren't open to the player, then work on the AI instead of giving players the ability to know almost everything by having them do basically nothing in a situation like that.- New Fallout 3 interview
And that doesn't tell me anything at all. If we're to be given game mechanics that just undermine player effort because enemies have their own rules, then all games would be yawn fests. - Short List of Good Story-Driven RPGs?
