  2. Yes, because since many do that, then everyone else must do it as well.
  3. It's IGN. They should learn many things before writing reviews, but the chances of that happening aren't that good.
  4. Rarely. I have only tried one same character concept - Thordek Lightbringer, a dwarven character - in multiple CRPGs, and even then, they varied a lot in between. In the Baldur's Gate saga, he was a Barbarian, IIRC; in NWN, he was a Fighter/Cleric, then a Fighter, then a Paladin; in Temple of Elemental Evil, he was a Fighter/Cleric, then a Paladin; in Arcanum, he was a fighter-type who wielded a pyrotechnic axe and a flamethrower. All other characters are wildly different between themselves and between games.
  5. Ditto. I'd just add another rank and nomination: Best Roleplaying in a D&D Game: Planescape: Torment And we're all set. Thanks for playing. Good luck, cheerio, and ta-da.
  6. A Mind Forever Voyaging (text-based), Darwinia Demo (strategy), Full Throtle (adventure, replaying it).
  7. Out of those choices, Shadowrun or Star Trek. Preferably the former.
  8. Sorry for not having noticed this before: Well, his question was pertaining to the existence of mods, not their quality, but I'll grant you that, their quality (from what I played) is very limited. What makes it worse is that there are extremely few of them, so the drek is more noticeable.
  9. I'll be running for the Scapegoat Extraordinaire! position, if it's still available.
  10. You'll attack anyone without reason anyway.
  11. Would you recommend either of those titles? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> VII for PC is a bit of a mess. I've heard that unless you have Win98 and 3dFx class cards, it's going to look messy. Imagine the jagginess and pixelization of the PSX original but worse. This is due in part to the fixed resolution of the PC version. It's pretty much just a straight up port with barely no redeeming qualities. VIII is a tad better all around. It does have a nifty bonus - Chocobo World, the add-on that came out for the PSX version in Japan, is a little executable that comes with the game. IIRC it wasn't released in the US for the PSX.
  12. It's a clockwork mechanism + blue and red sky assemblage. And some assorted effects.
  13. Pretty bad, but hey, use them at your own leisure if you want to.
  14. Diablo 1 had great atmosphere, and there were some enjoyable moments in Diablo 2. Divine Divinity was actually a nice surprise as well. The others, well, crapola. Maybe we should just kill two fifths of him?
  15. ^That'd be interesting. Star Wars LEGO seems like a fun little game. Having other videogames adhere to that trend might be interesting.
  16. Thanks to aboyd at the Codex forums, I've found this page that has a series of LEGO custom pieces of the Torment cast. Pretty neat, here's an example: The site has other series, from Metal Gear to Halo. Enjoy.
  17. Yes, that's me. Gone, then back. I do that sometimes. But yeah, I've been around before.
  18. Sorry to say this Darque, but I find you're contributing to it at this point.
  19. Did it ever had a use at all other than being the home of IPLY forumites?
