  1. Well, leaving all the content there for the fans to find (it's not like they didn't know what the KotOR modding community is capable of), would have allowed them to leave the door for the ending they had originally planned open. Be it via a "content patch", GOTY edition, unofficial fixes, or in a worst case scenario, a fan-made mod. SP thinks that could put some jobs in jeopardy, but I'm not so sure. After all, the cut content wasn't included in the game, as LA demanded. OE can't really be held responsible for the fanbase skills at reverse engineering. And they could argue too that with the tight release deadlines, they didn't have time to clean up the whole mess of unused files. But all of that is just me speculating. It could be they just didn't care if anyone found all the cut content, and couldn't be bothered to clean it up because they had more important stuff to do once they got the show on the road (such as NWN2).
  2. Well, for some reason I tend to associate the term "mistake" with sloppiness. And who is to say it actually wasn't a calculated move?
  3. [speculation] The "bronze" crystal doesn't seem to work as it was originally meant to, since in the item's name there is some indication that the crystal shouldn't be used in the game, if you use KSE. Weird thing is I actually ran into that crystal without cheating. But there's no difference between the "bronze" crystal and the orange one. [/speculation]
  4. Well, I'm not actually agreeing with you. At least that's what I think. I would actually like to see a content patch to fix some of the plotholes, don't really care much about the ending itself. But anyway. I understand the business reasons that will prevail over logic or customer satisfaction concerns, and I must admit, If I were running LA, I wouldn't give the thumbsup for a content patch either. They really have very little to gain, but potentially a lot to lose.
  5. Don't waste your time arguing with SP. He's biased because he would hate to see the "original" ending restored, and hence, logic won't convince him. However, some of his points make sense. MS wouldn't be happy with the PC version being upgraded, and that means LA won't risk pissing a major business partner over a trivial matter such as this one. The logical thing to do would be to improve the versions that can be improved, by whatever means. That would leave a lesser net number of pissed customers, by whatever reasons. If the Xboxers get the shaft, well sorry, but that's one of the risks you take when you favor console over PC gaming as things are today. But business strategy and logic aren't the same thing, so I think the actual chances of a "content patch" actually being approved are slim at best.
  6. But that would still contradict why there were so many Sith at one given time. Malak, Sion, Nihilus and Traya, without counting all the Sith masters under Malak's control.
  7. No. That came later. In KotOR there are plenty of Sith. And I don't mean "Sith troopers", I mean real Sith.
  8. Well, Bao-Dur is a bit shy. If there's an event that would normally trigger a reaction from him and there's another party member with you besides Bao-Dur, usually the other party member will react instead of Bao-Dur. Keep in mind that for each of those events, only one of your companions will react, except in a few special cases.
  9. Well, if you watch carefully, the Remote doesn't isn't blown to bits. It's rather intact, but for some reason, it clips through the Ebon Hawk's floor. You can clearly see its upper half quite intact when it's attacked by the fat one. Apparently, the cutscene is screwed up.
  10. Be honest: You enjoy this a little bit, don't you? You have no idea. I think I'm actually addicted to this stuff. Okay, I know you are in no way a standard dumbass, in fact you are an extraordinary dumbass, but I have better things to do than come up with creative flames, so I'll just use the form. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STANDARD DUMBASS REPLY FORM (version 1.0) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (check all boxes that apply) Dear: [ ] Llama [ ] Clueless Newbie [ ] Lamer [ ] Flamer [ ] "Me too"-er [ ] Pervert [ ] Spammer [ ] Racist [ ] Jackass [ ] Stereotypical AOLer [ ] Freak [ ] Troller [ ] Fundamentalist [ ] Satanist [ ] "Expert" [x] Pool of Slime [ ] Redneck [ ] Shameless Punk [ ] Twit [ ] Wannabe [x] Waste of Skin [ ] Other: __________________________ You Are Being Flamed Because: [x] You obviously don't know anything about the topic at hand [ ] You posted something involving legal crap. 11. Yep. Interestingly enough, the scripts that decide whether you can turn them into Jedi or not have this condition that requires their influence to be above 90, or below 10.
  12. Uh, you're making me doubt now. But I think he said Dorak and Zhar, nothing about Vandar. Anyway, if he survived, it's because he wasn't there, which means he couldn't really know. Something similar happens with Atris.
  13. Actually, the script that governs those actions is level-based. Just level up some more and ask again.
  14. I give you my opinion because it's the only one I have. That is how discussions proceed. Perhaps you are accustomed to something else where you spout some crap through your mouth and the rest of your interbred relatives agree without even thinking, but in the real world kid, that's not how things work. And yes, I agree with you that some opinions are more valid than others, but NOT on subjective matters such as this one. You would have gathered as much if you weren't so busy being a ****. You are right on something though. I'm not your equal. I'm obviously your superior. So next time, have some respect towards your betters. [EDITED FOR CONTENT]
  15. He doesn't. That's one of the weak spots of the ending. EDIT: Oh, and you triple-posted. You might want to delete the redundant threads.
  16. Well, so far facts back my statements so, whatever. )
