  1. Now turn this around, and make the subject a woman instead. Check your privilege, intensify your triggering, etc.
  2. I'm not too fond of hate speech laws. Something about the state stopping random yahoos from broadcasting vile lies doesn't sit well with me. I'll admit that this is pushing it, though. What bothers me is what this fomented hatred will crystallize into: more support for fascists to continue abusing laws and outright abrogating rights, and consolidation of a police state under the guise of "security and protection" from "terrorists".
  3. I wonder if this "great" idea is Varoufakis'?
  4. The point of the post is, as I explained, "don't bother with Bruce (& co.)". I provided the link not because I'm so cool it hurts, but so you could see why you shouldn't bother pointing out facts which will be immediately hand-waved away as "hyperbole", "deflections" or outright "Russian propaganda". Reminiscences of my (and others') past posts are very much related to the discussed topic because, um, it's exactly the same topic. Feel free to disregard, though. No skin off my back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  5. Age verification, methinks. Actually, I think embedding videos circumvents age verification...
  6. And, as usual, pirates will get the best possible version, get to try mods to see if they work as advertised and don't break stuff, before deciding if the product is worth the asking price, not to mention the time spent trying them and making them work. Thanks to the new and improved Steam Workshop, it's not just companies abusing microtransactions — now consumers can nickle and dime the **** out of each other! That's progress, folks. Anyway, Zor is 100% spot on the money, and it's important not to miss the forest for the trees. This is just an attempt by Valve to gain control of and centralize a parcel of gaming that nobody has control over, destroying those who don't want to bend over, and monetizing the rest in the process. Sure does. However, that said adjustments lead to better products, more competition or, more generally, anything remotely good for those involved, is an article of faith.
  7. So, does being this obtuse come naturally to you or are you making a special effort here? You are referring to the act "outlawing Nazism and Communism" passed two weeks ago which also hails UPA as heroes. I got it the first time even though you didn't give links or specifics. Do you think this is some sort of insider knowledge that makes you super informed on the situation on Ukraine or something? Am I supposed to be as excited as you seem to be by this revelation? Welcome to 2014 bro. This is simply the latest example of the Ukrainian government's ties to and stance regarding Ukrainian neo-nazis. You are a year late to the party because precisely how UPA is an organization formed under the auspices of Nazi Germany is something I discussed specifically in the 2014 post I linked to. If you had taken just five minutes to read the post and the thread in general you would have realized how pointless it is to argue with the usual suspects I was also making a reference to, which is the overall point I was making. But for (not-so) Sharp_one, reading is hard.
  8. Oh not much. They just made animals that slaughtered thousands of Polish (including some of my family) and Jewish people their national heroes. You are about a year late to the party, I'm afraid. In addition, from what I've seen, you are in the minority in that opinion, as a Pole. Good luck trying to discuss facts with the usual suspects here, though. You'll need it. Year late? Ukrainian parliament act I'm talking ago was passed on 09.04.2015. I'm also not a minority about being against ukrainian nazis. You seem to know as much on the subject as the FBI director when he accused Poland and Hungary on participation in Holocaust last week. I was referring to the year-old debate about the Ukrainian government being neo-Nazi sympathizers. This went right over your head, it seems, though I'm not really surprised. What's truly flabbergasting is that not even with a link to an old thread where those things are discussed at length, you managed to gather as much. Hey, maybe next year.

  10. Clearly more than they're worth.
  11. ^ Haha, another reason to wait 4 years for them to settle on a final version that, while caving in to the whiners, doesn't violate their "artistic integrity".
  12. I loved that game to bits. What's the point of doing a piece on a game from '97 though? And most importantly, WHY IS IT NOT AVAILABLE ON GOG? As an aside, I did only recently read about their soundtrack licensing problems. Klepacki is once more proven to be DA MAN.
  13. I thought that was you. Hi! I'm simply thinking that, by the time ME4 is released, DAI will have dropped in price enough for me to get around to trying it. Last AAA game I paid full price for was ME3, and I would probably have gone join the Taliban if it wasn't because the silly horde mode multiplayer was surprisingly fun. Hey, who knows. The industry does manage to produce some gems from time to time. Maybe in 6-8 years I'll be celebrating how great ME4 turned out. The excitement I feel at something which may or may not happen more than half a decade down the road is killing me, I'm sure you understand. Yeah, you mean the EMS idiocy, right? Didn't they patch that **** out eventually? That would be a good indication that they learned their lesson, wouldn't it?
  14. Considering I've had exactly zero interest in the last iterations of BF (the last one I played was BF2), I doubt I'll get this one either. But never say never... edit: I meant Battlefield, not Battlefront, obviously.
  15. Yep, much like Monte, I wouldn't wait 3 weeks. Cancer is srs bsns. On the other hand, from the pic you posted it doesn't seem to fulfill any of the ABCD criteria. Get it taken a look at asap, but don't start writing your goodbyes just yet.
  16. Funny, the forum isn't displaying the YT vid for me, I had to go into quote mode to get the link. Coincidence? I think not!
  17. Meh. Less ranting about trolls (pro bono or otherwise) and more lezginka vids and pics of "real" Caucasian women. For science!
  18. Well, what's the point of taking the initiative then. That was never a problem in the old XCOM games as aliens would be around the map slaughtering civilians or simply roaming, not just sitting around bunched up waiting to be "revealed". It's very much my fault, though. I should have researched the game before getting it. Looks like the game I want is actually Xenonauts.
  19. So I picked up the 2012 XCOM for like 7€ from the Gamersgate sale. Good thing I'm a cheap bastard, because I'm less than 4 hours in and I'm already hating it. Random thoughts: - Does this mind-numbing sequence they call "tutorial" ever end? (y/n) - Is there any reason (other than "because **** YOU") why aliens always get a free move when they are spotted, interrupting my turn? - Why don't soldiers *stop* advancing if they spot an alien instead of constantly ending up standing in the open, like in the old XCOM? - Why drop the action points/stamina system in favor of this either/or "fire or move" bull****? - Lying prone or kneeling down is so 20th century. In future warfare we facetank plasma fire. Like a boss, YOLO, etc. **** this ****. I'm not a cranky old fart shaking my cane at new stuff. It's that new stuff is objectively worse than old stuff. Yeah, that's what I get for trying a console strategy game. Back to Brutal Doom.
  20. No, you were informed. You've just pre-emptively repressed the memory. Because that's how bad it's going to be.
  21. Store sent me an invalid Sleeping Dogs key (they refunded me though), so I'm playing Brutal Doom instead. pewpewpew
  22. Looks like opinions for Sleeping Dogs are mostly positive around here, so I'm going to give it a whirl. Thanks guys. The upgraded Mace of Disruption is plain unfair, man. Trivializes liches, vampires... even Kangaxx. And unlike the other OP weapons it's really easy to get. As you say, you're not even penalized for trying to pull a fast one on that pompous **** Sir Sarles. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it.
  23. CBA to play PoE, it just doesn't grab me. Funny thing, same thing happened to me with PST. Was thinking of getting Sleeping Dogs for 10€. Any opinions? Yeah, why not mod the EE? Outside of Ascension (which I have on good authority that can be made to work with a little modding of your own), there's a ton of good mods that have been adapted.
