  1. I happen to have acquired this very rare photograph of an Abydon godlike male.
  2. Guys. Can you chill. Ofc your money won't get taken away. But we all know OE keeps the story secret. That includes sidequests. It's just like they did with the first PoE. I really don't think OE will release spoilers like that before the game releases. And personally I think that's for the best. I really want the be surprised with joy when I do meet BIB in the game.
  3. Still I think you're missing a vital point in your ongoing argument. This game is not a mainstream game for casuals. This is a niche game in a style that's not been used in tripple A games for a long time. I don't mind full VO if it's good and doesn't take away from other more vital areas budgetwise. If casuals like it, all the better. More money for OE. But I'd rather read a whole lot of unvoiced text in a great big IE style game, than have less text, and less overall game quality as trade-off for full VO anyday.
  4. I can't believe nobody has raged about the extra money being spent on VO could have made Ydwin a full companion instead. :p
  5. I didn't think they would go there. But it seems we get all the VO we could dream of! Rejoice! https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/984868229859368960
  6. Borderline or Stalker. I'd say...
  7. I read it that way aswell, but I don't understand it then. Will you be able to switch between voice sets for your companions? Because if it's a DLC, it can't be the original VO for them or NCP with spoken lines atleast. And I just think it's really strange to make multiple voice set for some NPC's when others don't have any VO at all. It seems odd to me.
  8. I have to admit, that I don't totally understand the news post. "...allowing Deadfire players to choose Critical Role’s character voices for their created party members in the game..." I read this as their VO will be voice sets will be for custom created adventurers and the MC. Then this quote states: " Working closely with the cast of Critical Role to bring Deadfire’s companions and story to life has been an amazing experience". So besides Mercer, and that scene Infinitron posted from Edér's quest, which was in the first game, are they voices other companions and NPC's also? Edit: I might just be clueless because I am not familiar with Critical Role beyond the short introduction, and that isn't helping my confusion.
  9. Do you see anyone getting trolled in this topic? The only oddball I see is someone derailing the conversation with warnings of horrible people.
  10. I think it's the way everything is presented and argued. Nobody called this guy out, because he makes a valid point, even if one disagrees. So no, it's not about newbie bashing. You just use this to cope with the fact that alot of people strongly disagree with your posts Sonic. Back on topic, I do not fully agree with the OP. I agree that alot of abilities are subpar, but they make for varied gameplay, and even subpar abilities can be used in some builds. So I don't see it as a big problem.
  11. That'd be cool but I somehow doubt it. Still, I think something spoilery is going on there. Yeah they probably won't do that. However I do think it is possible that companions have different portraits which changes based on what happened in the game. For example during certain quest some of your companion might lose an eye, so in the rest of the game he/she will have an eye-patch on. Yea, that's plausible, could be good for reactivity. Also, check this out, somebody asked the right question: https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/172422159216/hey-you-deleted-the-companion-portrait-directory
  12. "Nature, take the life she gave." Away with you, beggar!
  13. He got a really charismatic voice, and he really seems to love work. Since we're on the topic of voice actors, we'd like for PoE II, can we have these pretty please. ^_^
  14. I liked the music in PoE. It's really high quality and to me it's more than good enough. So if OE can keep the same level of quality, I'll be happy. It's not one of the greats. I mean games like Child of Light, Transistor, Chrono Trigger, and Journey are in another league for me. If we're really lucky, Deadfire will join the big OSTs. ^_^
  15. Thanks alot dude! ^_^ Appreciated.
  16. I'm kinda a neanderthal when it comes to photoediting, but that one is really cool, and if someone could do me the kindness of cutting it above the letters and then doing the thing to it, I'd use it in my first run.
  17. EA recognises the tremendous succes of Deadfire and buys Obsidian. Josh is forced to work as a design and narrative lead on Fifa 2019, only to be denied his wish to make it turn based. Cain and Boyarsky makes a retraction of their statement that their new game won't have loot boxes, and Fergus retires to the Cayman Islands.
  18. Wow, the Baldurs Gate argument again, huh... I love Baldurs Gate I & II. And I think spell casting worked okay in the first one. I mean, you're way weaker than other classes early on for no reason, which is bad design mechanically speaking. It didn't bother me too much personally thou. It seems however, that most defenders of the D&D system is loving the high level mages, and the mage duels... Seriously? High level spell casting is the most tedious **** in BG II. You cast the same spells over and over, until one of the mages run out of defensive spells, or a break spell pierces, so you can deal damage. It was fun for like 3 encounters, and then it's just a chore from there on out. It was a boring meta, which had no real alternatives. How can people like that? It's bad design, and worse than that, it's boring. I think Obsidian is moving in the right direction with their changes, even thou casting times are abit long for me.
  19. Pets used to be really good in PoE backerbeta. If I remember correctly, I could trigger traps with them. Come on now, go into the wire little piggy.
  20. I don't care for full VO in Deadfire one bit personally. I don't think this game should go for a broader audience if it compromises the soul of the game. The IE games were for people who actually like to read, and so were PoE. Full VO is waste of money, that could be spent much wiser. That said, I'm afraid that D:OS II has set a standard for reviewers. I fear it will impact Deadfire's reception, if it doesn't have full VO.
  21. The "you don't know me" comment was just a perfect end to our talk! Now go have your say! You sure deserve it! : )
