The comments to this review is much better than it was to Darth Roxxors. Instead of jacking eachother off, they're all butthurt and jacking eachother angrily off. Much fun. The review however was a bit weak, and trapped itself in being defensive, and apologetic. It kinda made it, if not as unbalanced as Darth Roxxors was, atleast too unbalanced to shine.

More nonlethal options
TheisEjsing replied to perilisk's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Just knocking people out sure would be cool, but what if instead of that. Why not just destroy them all? -
Thumbs up for the Hot-rod comparison, it was very Texas of you. :D He did honor the kickstarter promise, but honestly it didn't feel like he enjoyed it a whole lot. And if there is one thing that is more waste of time than watching other people play games, it's watching people play games they don't enjoy. Hopefully he will be in the mood if he plays on. I would rather that he uses his work time on PoE, TToN, or what else he is currently busy with instead.

Get out of here you pirate! You're clearly not a BG fan, or you would have more tactical understanding. Your post is an insult to any real BG fan. For an IE veteran, this game is like riding a bicycle. And a team of all hunters is the best? I think someone just broke the meta! ; ) Cant EDIT: Please don't call each other names.

You can now rename save games. You can now change the portrait and sound set of characters from the character sheet. Click on the gear icon to open the customization window. You can only use this feature on player characters and hired (non-companion) characters. Many spells and abilities will have more accurate and updated stat blocks and improved output in the combat log, tooltips, and character sheet. Party members will no longer switch weapon sets when charmed.

Sawyer on vacation?
TheisEjsing replied to MotelOK's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I have been thinking the same OP. Maybe he has been told to stay low until the rage he unintentionally caused is over. More likely he just needs some time to relax and take a vacation after two years in production with everything on the line and at the same time be in the public eye with the community and press. -
I can't think of a better reason to stop playing. It is possible to get locked out of picking a faction without taking the quest from them. Also, you receive the quest - locking you out of other factions - before you know what the quest even is, and once done, there's nothing to do. The problem as I saw it was always that you get locked out when accepting the quest, not when carrying it out, which is.. counter-intuitive. I also think that it should be possible to flat-out refuse to pick a faction, similar to what happens if you kill all the faction leaders. Except not killing the faction leaders. I agree that there's some issues with just accepting a quest pissing others off, and there's likely other things that could have been done more smoothly. A choice to not go with any faction could be cool too. But I was just pointing out, that choosing a faction is a fairly common element, and if it's part of the game, you gotta do it if you want to play on. Either that or wait until somebody makes a mod like in BG 2. And I haven't tried to kill all the faction leaders. ^_^

Well, they do warn you that it will piss the other fractions off. Even so I was also abit surprised about it. But the real problem here seems to be, if you don't want to go with any faction. Then it's like not wanting to partner with the shadow thieves or Bodhi in BG 2. To play the game, you kinda have to make a choice.

Okay, I dislike the way the codex review is presented as much as the next guy, but this is too much. Stop making new threads about it. It's one review which most can agree fails to keep it's points, both valid ones and not, in moderation. But just because most reviewers love the game, doesn't mean that everybody should.
-
My post was about the lack of productive debate, and this thread was an example. And I have never claimed that anyone has a duty to inform people about being counterproductive. That wasn't my post. And if your post wasn't the least directed at me, then I apologize, but in context of this thread it did seem that way. And besides, this is Sensukis thread, and I'm adressing something he did related to this thread and I'm doing it here.
-
I'm not the least butthurt, but I'm abit sad that it turned out this way. Besides, I haven't called Sensuki any "****" words at all. I have said many times, that I had alot of respect for all the hard work Sensuki poured into the game, but that doesn't change what goes on now. And that jab about small minds. I love that from a guy who never gets personal. ^_^
-
So he makes a thread, so he can watch people be insulted by an insulting hatchet job. Such respect that man deserves. He didn't get the "I saved PoE from itself" reclaim, but he is making damn sure, to get the "I benevolently tried everything, but it was impossible to help OE" reclaim on the codex now.
-
So guys... Before the game was released there were alot of **** talking. The general consensus were however, that the common goal was to improve the game. It's sad to see now, that the discussion is reduced to this. Any worthwhile constructive argument about the future of PoE is quickly shot down. And it's sad to read Sensukis posts on the codex aswell. To watch him starting this thread, only to coward out, when Matt is confronting him. Then to go post a link on the codex about this thread, only to promote his wish to belong to their group of self important wankers and ridicule the how the peasents here doesn't agree with them. I actually believed he wanted to work for the betterment of PoE, but he showed his true colors now. So sad.
