  1. To be honest, I've had this on other games and I've never even noticed it. My connection is always up, so it's a bit of a non-issue. Are there still people that use their computer off-line?
  2. Bleh, if achievement only came for "pushing my skills to the limit" I'd probably never get them, and then I'd feel like a loser. It should be a mix, a few difficult ones and a few basic ones in every game.
  3. Thats different. I feel more dirty paying for it than I do getting it for free off the internet.
  4. I've been playing the Age of Conan beta. They seemed to have done a good job bringing the books to life. It's a pretty brutal world and is much more violent in nature than any MMO I've played. The combat is also pretty active. That being said, the performance isn't what I'd like, but it is beta. I have a high end rig, so I expect to be able to run everything in full detail, but it's pretty steep. The graphics are pretty awesome though. I'll update more as I play.
  5. Whatever engine it is, it looks very similiar to HoMM in every aspect.
  6. Vice City is like "I love the 80's" on VH1. It's pure awesomeness, but only if you like to reminisce about the 80's.
  7. I've never actually sought out a specific achievement. I play the game, and occasionally one dings, and I smile contentedly. They make me feel better about myself. Sometimes they are even humorous, like the warm coffee achievement.
  8. Eh, I found ME to be like an Oasis in a desert of uninteresting games. I finish maybe one game a year, and ME was that game for 2007.
  9. How is loving a city different than loving a country? I'm sure most Canadians grew up watching Canadian teams because that's what is covered by the media. Hence the loyalty.
  10. Why are you a Rangers fan again?
  11. I know, this game is clearly a bad influence. Every time I load it up, I hear a crackling sound, and I'm pretty sure it's the foundations of our society crumbling away.
  12. There's something fairly satisfying about shooting a driver in the head and having them slump over on top of the steering wheel, causing the horn to blare.
  13. Ok my picks are Dallas and Pittsburgh. Dallas over Detroit - Turco is playing insanely good. Detroit will struggle with the physical game. Pittsburgh over Philly - The Flyers have been a feel good story of the playoffs, but both Washington and Montreal had some big flaws. The Pens are rolling and have the offense to challenge Biron. This is the third matchup in which Philly has the clear advantage n goal, so maybe they have a better shot than I think they do. Still, the Pens beat the Rangers, so Philly should be do-able.
  14. The multiplayer options are a pretty awesome improvement over the previous games.
  15. Well, I'm pretty proud of the way the Sharks played down the stretch. They never gave up, and I feel a lot better about the playoffs this year then I did the last two. They fought hard and matched Dallas well. I'll probably root for Dallas from here out, because it's easier to say your team got beat by the eventual Cup champs. Turco is by far the best goalie left in the postseason, 61 frickin' saves!
  16. 4th OT. I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow. Actually it's almost today.
  17. Volourn is so off topic. Sharks outshot the Stars 11-2 in that 2nd OT. Gah Gah Gah!
  18. I'm sick to my stomache with worry right now. This is too dang stressful.
  19. 4 OT games in this series...
  20. Ah, that makes sense. MMO's are definitely not for everyone. Thank you for explaining.
  21. Did you just put Ironman on the same level as Daredevil?
  22. It looks pretty amazing with DirectX 10 as well. Anyone who complains about the monthly fee for Lord of the Rings Online has no clue what they are talking about. Turbine has released 8 very sizable content patches over the last year. I'm not talking about tweaks, I'm talking about entirely new areas and thousands of new quests. It's also been very well spread out over the levels, rather than just high end content. I played WoW for two years and Blizzard was nowhere near as good at releasing new content. Sony makes you pay for new expansions every 6 months in EQ2 instead of free content updates, so I've got to say that Turbine is by far the best bang for your buck when it comes to MMO's. I pay $10 a month by the way, which is the same price as a movie ticket.
