    Dallas looked tired.
  2. WHole thingie here: http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=c...40&Itemid=2 Damn console players always gumming up the works! Can't you people learn to read? What stood out there is "I play Fallout everyday". That's a tad obsessive.
  3. I think it wasn't necessarily surprise that there are Nintendo fans, but rather the rabid nature. Considering most Nintendo games are pretty cute and cuddly, you wouldn't expect the fans to be so vitriolic.
  4. Actually, Disney movies and classic music typically has to be re-mastered for new technology. Like today people are buying DVD's, tomorrow you will buy Blu-ray's, yesterday we bought VHS. I would love it if they took some classic games and re-mastered them. Sierra did it with a few adventure series by implementing VGA graphics, and it was awesome. I think once technology slows down enough, you'll probably see classic titles getting a good polish job for a new release.
  5. The whole 3 PC argument is silly. Most people don't play 15 year old games. Heck, most people couldn't figure out how to run a game older than 5 on a new OS. It's a small minority that reaches that far back for their entertainment. Sometimes I get the urge to play Xcom. Luckily its freeware and folks have created a way to play it on new OS's. If an old game is worth playing, that will happen.

Well, there is the potential for Paul Maurice to go to San Jose. The two organizations have had a lot of dealings with eachother over the last few years, so Sharks management should be pretty familiar with Maurice and vice versa. I can't imagine him turning down the offer, thats for sure. It just all hinges on whether they are willing to cut Ron Wilson loose. Yes, he's 8th all time on wins and he's kept the Sharks very competitive, but 5 years of yelling at the same guys is a lot. Eventually players need to here a different voice. As a teacher, I couldn't imagine trying to motivate my students for multiple years. It's tough enough to keep them listening for 1 year.

    Paul Maurice for San Jose?
  8. I was really just joking, I guess you missed the thread on GTA's perfect scores from IGN. It was a laugh riot.
  9. Some people can't read fast enough to keep up. My wife has that problem. She's got a masters degree in kinesiology, but reading fast isn't her strong suit. City of God deserves a 10/10. "Almost like it's got some flaws, but is the best at what it does."
  10. To be honest, I've had this on other games and I've never even noticed it. My connection is always up, so it's a bit of a non-issue. Are there still people that use their computer off-line?
  11. Bleh, if achievement only came for "pushing my skills to the limit" I'd probably never get them, and then I'd feel like a loser. It should be a mix, a few difficult ones and a few basic ones in every game.
  12. Thats different. I feel more dirty paying for it than I do getting it for free off the internet.
  13. I've been playing the Age of Conan beta. They seemed to have done a good job bringing the books to life. It's a pretty brutal world and is much more violent in nature than any MMO I've played. The combat is also pretty active. That being said, the performance isn't what I'd like, but it is beta. I have a high end rig, so I expect to be able to run everything in full detail, but it's pretty steep. The graphics are pretty awesome though. I'll update more as I play.
  14. Whatever engine it is, it looks very similiar to HoMM in every aspect.
  15. Vice City is like "I love the 80's" on VH1. It's pure awesomeness, but only if you like to reminisce about the 80's.
  16. I've never actually sought out a specific achievement. I play the game, and occasionally one dings, and I smile contentedly. They make me feel better about myself. Sometimes they are even humorous, like the warm coffee achievement.
  17. Eh, I found ME to be like an Oasis in a desert of uninteresting games. I finish maybe one game a year, and ME was that game for 2007.

How is loving a city different than loving a country? I'm sure most Canadians grew up watching Canadian teams because that's what is covered by the media. Hence the loyalty.

Why are you a Rangers fan again?
  20. I know, this game is clearly a bad influence. Every time I load it up, I hear a crackling sound, and I'm pretty sure it's the foundations of our society crumbling away.
  21. There's something fairly satisfying about shooting a driver in the head and having them slump over on top of the steering wheel, causing the horn to blare.

Ok my picks are Dallas and Pittsburgh. Dallas over Detroit - Turco is playing insanely good. Detroit will struggle with the physical game. Pittsburgh over Philly - The Flyers have been a feel good story of the playoffs, but both Washington and Montreal had some big flaws. The Pens are rolling and have the offense to challenge Biron. This is the third matchup in which Philly has the clear advantage n goal, so maybe they have a better shot than I think they do. Still, the Pens beat the Rangers, so Philly should be do-able.
  23. The multiplayer options are a pretty awesome improvement over the previous games.

Well, I'm pretty proud of the way the Sharks played down the stretch. They never gave up, and I feel a lot better about the playoffs this year then I did the last two. They fought hard and matched Dallas well. I'll probably root for Dallas from here out, because it's easier to say your team got beat by the eventual Cup champs. Turco is by far the best goalie left in the postseason, 61 frickin' saves!
