  1. Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I actually really enjoyed all three of the RE films. I wasn't a huge fan of the games, but the movies are fun action romps and they've got arguably the best female action star in Milla Jovovich. This last one was probably my least favorite, but I still found it very watchable. Bit of a downer on how they treat returning characters, though.
  2. I think you expressed yourself very well Tigranes. Much better than I was managing, that's for sure
  3. I wasn't really looking to insult you Krezack, but your analysis of Tigrane's post seemed purposefully disjointed. At no point does he say to disregard science in favor of faith. But he brings up a good point, that not all science is as solid as you seem to imply. The Big Bang Theory is a theory, hence the name. If it was something proven, it wouldn't be called a theory. And his next point seems to be (not to speak for him) that even if the Big Bang were proven irrefutably, that doesn't disprove the existence of God.
  4. Krezack, your inability to understand the concepts of faith has made you as blind as someone who allows faith to blind them from science.
  5. Kirottu is correct, actually. Most denominations of christianity have modernized their theology not to make the rest of the world burn in hell. The more you talk, walkerguy, the more I wonder how much you really know about your own religion. What type of church do you attend? I'm not trying to attack, I'm genuinely curious.
  6. I didn't mean you worship idols. I meant the statement in general. For christiananity, you can worship only one god: uhhhh... God. I admit, I dunno why he doesn't have a better name. Ok, so what happens if you lead a good life but you don't worship one god? I know what different churches claim, but what is your opinion? Keep in mind that different denominations of Christianity have different concepts of the afterlife. What about Muslims? They worship one God. Are they on the same footing as Christians? I know that sounds like a set up question, but I'm just trying to get a better grasp of your ideology.
  7. Where did I say I worship idols? Believing in a singular God is possible in many different religions.
  8. I'll try to answer some questions: "Why do your existance as biological being require God? What do we need him for?" That question is going to have a different answer for almost every individual. Society in general has always taken comfort in the ability to explain away the unknown. Religion has also been used to establish certain moral codes. Probably the most important aspect of religion is the ability to create a united community. It moves past the typical family bonds that bind humans together and creates a larger and more powerful whole. But that is just a quick and dirty history, I'm sure someone will come along and say that science and social awareness have surpassed the need for such religious hogwash. I fail to see that, the world is still predominately made up of religious folks. Maybe when 90% of people dismiss God, I'll question my own faith, but I don't see that ever happening. The world and the people on it is filled with spirituality. Of course I would enjoy seeing more tolerance and less abuses, but a society without religion doesn't guarantee that at all. Personally, I try and educate myself in every religion, every form of spiritualism. That's because I think they all are right in their own way. The only wrong I see is when you close yourself off from the beliefs of others. I might settle down some day and say "this is the right belief for me" but I don't see how that makes someone else wrong for choosing a different spiritual path. God is a representation of spirituality. I need lunch, so I'm stopping there. I can probably ramble on later.
  9. I don't understand the need to force walkerguy to question his beliefs. It's how he sees the world, it is his perception. It's also one shared by many people in the world. Again, you can't prove or disprove the existence of God. You can argue out the details all day long, but you will always return to the same place in the end. No amount of raw data will make me change my perception of a spiritual higher power. That is just the way I see the world. I'm very willing to accept scientific fact for what it is, and you are right to argue against people who ignore the dinosaurs and what have you, but when you completely dismiss faith, you are just as bad as those who completely dismiss science.
  10. I've gotta agree with the folks who argue "why" is the basis behind religion and the concept of God. Sure, given time we can explain the procedure of everything, and science is immensely important to the progress of the human race, but there just isn't any way to prove whether God exists or not. It's silly to argue it, but I'm sure there is some scientific rationale behind why we do so.
  11. Bully - excellent minigames, interesting game world. I kinda hate every character in the game, including the one I'm portraying.
  12. Roli brought back terrible memories of 2006 with his work tonight. Those weren't outside shots either, there were quite a few point blank and traffic saves. Ah well, the Sharks drop the winning streak, but a point is still a point and they've got the games in hand to take the Pacific. I think if they win 6 of the last 10 they will wrap up 2nd, very doable. Of course, they need to at least split the pair against Dallas and Anaheim.
  13. Didn't we learn our lesson when me and you teamed up and got beat down by some random internet guy? I like the enthusiasm though. NHL 08 is probably the only 360 game I'm decent at, so I support getting it. I'd probably actually grace you folks with my presence and stop ignoring you if we started playing it more. That alone should motivate you to drop the $40 on it. It's superior in a number of ways to NHL 07, jags.
  14. This Penner line for Edmonton is looking pretty good. I can see that being a top line for the next couple years.
  15. Ben Affleck also has an Oscar for writing, so it might just be that acting is the lesser of his talents.
  16. I thought this thread was about Cous Cous. How disappointing.
  17. A lot of my friends say it isn't too good and isn't too much like diablo at all. To me, it certainly doesn't look like Diablo at all. Maybe it doesn't look like Diablo, but the gameplay is exactly the same, plus you have a Z-Axis now. You got hubs, quest givers, teleporters, tons of l00t and items for upgrading... it really is exactly structured like Diablo. Even the areas are (sometimes) randomly generated, and I must say, the graphics are gorgeous (from an aesthetic point of view). It also plays quick, and has the "Just one quest before I quit" stance to it. To me, it is simply the best thing since Diablo 2. All these other clones (Titan Quest, Harbinger, Restricted Area, Legend etc.) are all crap. Go for Hellgate if you're a Diablo fan! Although I must admit the slow start and "meh" at the beginning may give people a bad first impression. I believe the initial storm of bad press that Hellgate recieved was more because of major bugs. Has that been patched up well enough?
  18. I picked up a copy of Bully for the 360 tonight. It's pretty interesting so far. It takes about 3 minutes to realize the game doesn't glamorize bullying, so I'm not sure what all the fuss was about. It's actually kind of a depressing commentary on where kids go when they mess up in regular schools. I've been to the academies that expelled kids are put in, and this game just depicts (exagerated, of course) them.
  19. I think the Postman received more of its reputation as a dud because Waterworld was so bad and they both shared the similiar post-apoc. epic theme. I've watched The Postman quite a few times on TV, and each time I see it I like it a bit more.
  20. Yeah, I've always disliked Pronger, but I thought he'd cleaned up his play over the last couple years. This is inexcusable though, he deserves at least 5 games.
  21. Ah, I'm ok with that. It makes sense over time the lack of guards will be noticed. As long as I don't try hitting a guy, only to find he's got a super hard noggin and turns around to beat me down.
  22. And rocks, and paper too. Critical paper cut for teh win.
  23. Mus, maybe I'm misreading, but are you against 100% success take down moves? I can understand that it's unbelievable to have every attack from behind be an absolute success, but I'm not sure about supporting an arbitrary system where sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. I think that would lead to a lot of frustration re-loads on my part.
  24. I'm really upset about the fact he's jumping over a wall. That's unforgivable in my eyes. This game is clearly going to be weak. He should be jumping over something better.
  25. I don't think EA can possibly do worse than Take Two has managed to do over the years. Seriously, that was one badly managed publisher.
