  1. Yeah, the vehicle spawning thing is pretty annoying. Sometimes it takes forever to find a bike, and then you see a hundred of them after you jump on one. Fixing their spawn system would be a great fix for the next game.
  2. Abrams is probably better off leaving a project after the first year or two. X-Files went downhill in the last few seasons, Alias supposedly did as well (I never watched, just going off rumor.) Meanwhile, LOST is going great without him.
  3. The book is a good deal different than the movie. I read the book a few years before seeing the movie, and so my memory had faded enough for the changes not to trouble me much. The book is a great lighthearted fairy tale though, much less dark than Gaiman's other stuff.
  4. I'm not calling Tarkovsky anything. I'm saying the quote doesn't apply here because you have some people claiming that PS:T is soooo much better than other titles because it is art. It is the folks who claim to understand what is art that are condemning other stuff. So you have some people saying "Bioware games and PS:T are all on the same level" and you have some saying "PS:T is art and Bioware titles are mindless drivel." It's not the same as what Tarkosky is saying.
  5. Um, except it's the art snobs that are condemning everything else.
  6. I've been thinking about Lost Oddysey as well, but I'm already pretty backed up on games. I figure I need to finish The Witcher before I start a new RPG.
  7. They air brushed her face? Hmm, honestly that's not what I was really watching while she was on camera.
  8. You can basically count on serving half the sentence you are given, unless you do something really bad in jail.
  9. My most memorable romance was hooking up with both girls in Jade Empire. Given that it will never happen in real life, it was nice to do so in a game.
  10. Um, I don't think the "What You are Playing Now" thread needs a daily update when you are playing the same game. Proper forum etiquette also would dictate you say something more than simply the game title. For example: I'm still playing Age of Conan. I've reached level 17 and I'm almost out of the newbie island. There was a lot of server downtime this weekend, but the game launches officially today, so if you are interested go buy it. It's actually pretty stable if you have a good rig.
  11. I think you can make they argument that any militant nation is savage, and really all the major empires in the world have relied on their military. Were the Mongols worse than the Romans, the Macedonians, or even the British Navy? They all have episodes of savagery in their history.
  12. I agree with Sand. With great power comes great responsibility.
  13. Um, the Mongolians took over China (The Yuan Dynasty). They established the Silk Road, hired Marco Polo, and created a pretty awesome postal service.

I think I picked the Pens last round, so I went 1-1. I like Detroit for the Cup though. I think defensively they are just too strong. Pittsburgh will hopefully make it exciting.
  15. Your face is ridiculous.
  16. I don't think they are really similiar enough to make an easy comparison. They are really tailored to very different audiences. Take the combat, aside from a raid, WoW has a fairly slow pace to the fighting. It's almost turn based, in essence, and you can strategize a few moves ahead pretty easily. Conan has more of an action RPG feel to it, and in some ways it's closer to a fighting game. You have three zones of attack, left, right and center. You choose which of these three to swing at depending on how your opponent is defending. But you also have combo moves to use, and you need to think about when to use what combo. You can also fake an opponent by hitting a few times from the left, having him reposition his defense, and then using a powerful combo on the right. It is fairly easy to pick it up in game, but it requires a greater concentration. Couple this with the fact that you are usually fighting two or more mobs, and you have a pretty frenetic fighting pace. The setting is also dramatically different. It's like comparing Harry Potter to George RR Martin's Fire and Ice series.
  17. Actually, WoW has the most rigorous DRM process of them all.
  18. Reached level 15 in Age of Conan as a Cimmerian Gaurdian. The first 20 levels are pretty much a single player experience, in fact originally it was designed as such. It's a pretty decently paced story experience. You don't reach the main world until level 20, although you do share the beginner area with others.
  19. Hmm...I liked Fallout AND I like Bethesda's entire lineup of games. Woohoo!
  20. Have you played through the Shivering Isles part? I found that a heck of a lot more entertaining than the original game. It seemed much more full of life.
  21. ME rocks. Worrying about DRM is lame. Enjoy the epic Space Opera.
  22. Hmm...I really didn't think it through much, Sulik just made me think of Hamous for some reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ytp7zlSnf0 I always loved Hamous. Maybe it's the fact they both have accents and talk with a strange syntax. Maybe it's because they are both fiesty natives. Maybe I'm just being racist
  23. Sulik was awesome in JA2 with his Ice Cream truck.
  24. I still believe! I think it's expected at the end of the year. I'm in the Warhammer beta as well. It's definitely a PvP focused game. That's not my style, but it seems like a solid title.

Oh hey, lets not forget the whole 33 year gap between 3-0 comebacks. So will it be Philly or Dallas? Dallas made the first step towards an upset already.
