  1. I've heard the XPS systems are easier to upgrade than previous Dell boxes. I think they were actually designed by Alienware as part of their partnership. Did those of you with upgrade issues have an XPS system?
  2. Wow, Arcanum is on my top 10 list. I strongly disagree with you
  3. Alienware isn't really all that much more expensive than Cyberpower, at least for an equivalent system. Dell is definitely better priced though.
  4. I just bought a system recently. At first I ordered from Dell. This was around November, and they delayed getting the machine to me twice with n clear explanation of why. They just kept pushing it back, and customer support could never tell me what was happening with the actual build process. I cancelled and went with Alienware. It was more expensive, but they showed me a step by step breakdown of the build process. If they had trouble getting a specific part, they would contact me and allow me to adjust the order. Dell was missing all that. I received the system in good time and was extremely happy with the result. It's a great system. I'm looking at your setup, and I think you are overpaying for the Cyberpower PC. If you spend that cash, you really should be getting a top of the line video card like the 8800 GTX. The GT is good but its mid-level good, not top of the line, and for 2k you deserve top of the line. If your patient, I'd go Dell and upgrade that video card. If your impatient, I'd go Alienware.
  5. Eh, I thought a wheelchair bound Elvis and JFK versus a mummy was pretty interesting. You have to go in expecting it's going to be a bad B movie, really.
  6. People don't actually need to take part in EVERY thread on the forum. It's perfectly fine to sit one out, particularly if you have no real interest in the topic.
  7. Then why post?
  8. I'm pretty sure Gary Gygax himself would laugh at that comment, it's more of a compliment to his legacy than anything mean. He was 69 and had some health issues, so you can probably call it natural causes. He will be missed, but he'll definitely live on, and his work continues to grow every year. Can't ask for much more than that.
  9. I'll always remember Roadhouse.
  10. My guess is that a Zepellin will be involved in some way.
  11. It was an excellent Diablo clone. If you enjoyed Diablo at all, you will enjoy TQ. The art direction and setting were also well done. It was still very heavy on the clicking.
  12. That guy has a long neck.
  13. Good thing I wasn't saying it's a lot of FPS and GTA games, that was a rhetorical statement about how that's pretty much the only thing it lacks is a lot of FPS and GTA clones. As for your "supported by reviewers:" http://www.metacritic.com/games/psp/scores/ 4 of the 5 games I specifically referred to scored over an 85. This is all ignoring the plethora of games built around short bursts, including Portable Ops and Dark Ressurection There's a ton of high scoring games on the system. If you want to compare >= 85 vs the DS, you'll find the DS only has 2 more. Hey we could argue over scores all day, sure. It's all a matter of opinion. For my money, the DS has been a much better purchase, is all I'm saying. I gave up on the PSP after about a year and a half of owning it. The following games have made owning a handheld worth it for me: Phoenix Wright, Puzzle Quest, Advance Wars, and Brain Age. I can only get one of those on the PSP. But I guess we could argue about consoles instead. Only there doesn't seem to be much of an argument there. The Wii is a totally different machine, and the 360 is killing the PS3 for now in the traditional console market.
  14. Eventually Sony's "home" setup could be great. But the PS3 has quite a few aspects that are going to be great "eventually". Eventually I'll want a Blu-Ray drive, eventually they'll have a stable of good titles... For now, the 360 is king though. They've got solid games and a great marketplace.
  15. I would say the claim that the PSP has no games still holds a bit of water, moreso because its lacking good handheld games. FPS and GTA style games don't translate well onto a small screen, at least not in my eyes, and that seems supported by reviewers. The DS has been a lot more successful at making full use of the small screen. I also don't see how puzzle and tactical battle games qualify as "kiddie" titles. Sure, they don't have adult themes, but I don't need everyone of my games to be The Witcher. I've owned both handhelds, and the PSP never managed to wow me with a game. The DS, on the other hand, has a unique stable of games that you can't find anywhere else, including consoles and the PC.
  16. This is a discussion on consoles. Get out of the thread, troll.
  17. Whatever, the Stars had a delicate balance on the team, and now they've shaken the boat and will proceed to tumble into obscurity. At least, that is what I tell myself to sleep easier at night.
  18. Perfect! So what does it mean?
  19. This is well written, I wish that every snot nosed pirate will get a chance to read it. It does seem like an online authentication system would be a prevention method. Can you pirate Half-Life 2? Doesn't it require an internet connection just to play? I see no problem requiring people to be online when playing games, but you will hear folks complain about it. Still, if the numbers are that high, it makes me think they might as well do it.
  20. Tabula Rasa - It's interesting. The setting is unique and I'm enjoying the visuals. It's definitely a standard MMO underneath the shooter looks. Not groundbreaking, but not poorly done.
  21. I think a new type of RPG could be great, we've had plenty of fantasy and a fair amount of sci-fi, but something unique could be wonderful.
  22. That isn't a spelling error, it's a word usage error. Spellcheck wouldn't help.
  23. Only really good players get the moniker because they already have a reputation as an outstanding regular season performer. It's not really an insult. It's just a question of whether their tremendous game changing talent can translate into post season success.
  24. That's surprising, I thought Titan Quest did alright from a sales perspective. It seemed to get enough attention to do so.
  25. Dang, Krookie got it first. It's great though, maybe I'll just copy him. Without the lame dinosaurs
