  1. Malkin is the 10th best player in the league? That doesn't sound very wannabe-ish. I would be happy being the 20th best player in the league, to be honest.
  2. If you liked Morrowind, you will probably like Oblivion. The only thing that Morrowind did better, in my eyes, is create a fairly unique setting. Oblivion is pretty standard fantasy fodder, but I do see it as having a more cohesive storyline. Also, the expansion for Oblivion is well worth it. Shivering Isles tells a pretty good story and it does a solid job of creating a couple memorable characters, which I will say was lacking in both Morrowind and Oblivion. The gameplay is really pretty much the same in both. You might want a mod to change the crazy auto levelling enemies from Oblivion.
  3. My top three are Army of Darkness, The Professional, and Payback.
  4. At least Christian Bale is staring in it. I can't really think of any bad movies he has been in.
  5. I have a couple people on ignore, and it's just because occasionally their comments melt my brain. Like I don't really need to hear "certain folks" are playing the same 3 games over and over again in the What are you playing thread, and I don't need to hear them spout the same gibberish about Fallout 3 being a fraud. But in other threads, I click to see their post on the off chance it is readable.
  6. And what's wrong with Disney? Mulan rocked, jerk.
  7. The Jack Ryan movies were successful. I thought Fugitive was really good. Yep, not quite sure what more you could ask for from an actor. He's been pretty damn successful. The last few years he's just been showing his age, so he no longer fits the action star mold like he used to. He didn't age all that well either. He did that Amish movie too. That was a good one. And that one where he loses his memory and turns out to be a total prick, but he realizes how bad he was and he changes. That was a life lesson. Someday I hope some people on these forums lose their memory and re-read their posts.
  8. Holmstom is insane. Someone should put a slideshow together of all the crazy deflections and stuff he has done in front of the net to create goals. They have to penalize him because he's just too much better at playing in front than anyone else.
  9. I really can't call it a hack n' slash, since there is seriously very little combat in the game. Most hack and slash titles make you battle minions for hours before reaching the boss battles. Fable suffers from the opposite. The game is literally made up of like 7 boss fights. I think there were less minion fights than actual boss fights. I think the Zelda comparison is actually very fitting.
  10. Yuusha's point seems to be that the US has not been very good at foreign policy over the years, particularly their strategies when dealing with non-democratic countries. I'd say that's a pretty obvious point.
  11. Let's get some mods to change your name to drtaks.
  12. It's a fun little game. It's kind of a combination of an adventure and RPG game. It brought to mind the original Quest for Glory when I played through it. Kind of oddball humor and a lot of common fantasy stuff. You get to show off a giant bee head and make women swoon. It's pretty short, about 20 hours, but that's a selling point for me.
  13. I just played the demo of the Penny Arcade game (something about a rain slick precipice.) It was pretty fun, kind of an adventure game with Final Fantasy combat using mini-games for good measure. If you enjoy the comics, it's worth a try. I also like that it is available on Mac, so I was able to load it on my work laptop and play it before work this morning.
  14. If you dropped your Xbox, it could have damaged something inside. I doubt there is an easy fix. You might want to try your headset on something else, if you can, because if it is new then that might not be the culprit.
  15. The Goonies rocked.
  16. Abrams had no involvement with X-Files (that I can find at least). The only reason he was brought up in regards to it is because his new show looks like a ripoff. Ah, my bad, I misunderstood.
  17. Yeah, the vehicle spawning thing is pretty annoying. Sometimes it takes forever to find a bike, and then you see a hundred of them after you jump on one. Fixing their spawn system would be a great fix for the next game.
  18. Abrams is probably better off leaving a project after the first year or two. X-Files went downhill in the last few seasons, Alias supposedly did as well (I never watched, just going off rumor.) Meanwhile, LOST is going great without him.
  19. The book is a good deal different than the movie. I read the book a few years before seeing the movie, and so my memory had faded enough for the changes not to trouble me much. The book is a great lighthearted fairy tale though, much less dark than Gaiman's other stuff.
  20. I'm not calling Tarkovsky anything. I'm saying the quote doesn't apply here because you have some people claiming that PS:T is soooo much better than other titles because it is art. It is the folks who claim to understand what is art that are condemning other stuff. So you have some people saying "Bioware games and PS:T are all on the same level" and you have some saying "PS:T is art and Bioware titles are mindless drivel." It's not the same as what Tarkosky is saying.
  21. Um, except it's the art snobs that are condemning everything else.
  22. I've been thinking about Lost Oddysey as well, but I'm already pretty backed up on games. I figure I need to finish The Witcher before I start a new RPG.
  23. They air brushed her face? Hmm, honestly that's not what I was really watching while she was on camera.
  24. You can basically count on serving half the sentence you are given, unless you do something really bad in jail.
  25. My most memorable romance was hooking up with both girls in Jade Empire. Given that it will never happen in real life, it was nice to do so in a game.
