Well, if you dislike the first two shots of tequila, I've heard the third is always better. But I don't think that applies when you space the shots years apart.

Blizzard is just about the best there is at keeping projects completely under wraps until they have a near playable version of the game ready. And then they just sit and polish it for two years while folks drool.

I think he's refering to the general lack of smooth animation in the game. It definitely shows its age.

I don't have any problems with that position, and I really don't mind if he's totally against the Vietnam war. I just don't understand taking potshots at a prisoner of war in any situation, regardless of nationality.

You are insane. Are you seriously going to take the word of a communist regime over dozens of young men who were POW's? He went in with dark hair and came out with white hair, for goodness sake, I don't think he was staying in Hanoi for the great room service. He wanted the POW's that were there before him released as well, that's why he "refused" to leave. Look, I'm not even really a big fan of his politics, and I don't plan on voting for the guy, but I have a hard time listening to criticism over his war record. The guy made huge sacrifices for his country and his fellow soldiers. Why so emotional, and why am I 'taking the position of a Communist regime'. You aren't making any sense. It just sounds like you are being critical of his time as a POW. I find that reprehensible. I never said you are taking the position of a communist regime.

Is that a shooter? I thought it was an action-RPG with skills and junk. I haven't heard a lot of positives about it though. There's a game called Huxley that is supposed to ecompass what I'm talking about, but I'm not sure if the company doing it can pull it off. I'd like to see one of these games without any fantasy element. Like Battlefield but over a persistent world landscape Maybe if they just took the Guild Wars mechanics and made the gameplay a shooter we'd have an interesting game. Maybe, I'm not really sure I guess.

Valve doesn't need a MMO per se, but it would be great to see someone make a sort of hybrid FPS MMO. I know Planetside tried it with limited success, but you look at how popular achievements are in TF, and how succesful games like Call of Duty and Battlefield have been with a type of levelling scheme. Valve might have the best credentials to make a really great persistent world like this. The trouble now is that your choices are either single player or pvp in FPS games. I'd like to see more large scale co-op. The most popular part of any MMO is the PvE, so if an online shooter can somehow harness that, I think it could be great.

Ok, bought the expansion, currently started an Assassin and I'm leaning towards the martial arts tree. I've started it as a signle player game. I'm not sure if I really want to bother with Battle.net. Any good arguments for it?

I broke down and bought a copy from the Blizzard online store. It looks kinda terrible. Isn't there anything to fix the resolution? I know its an older game, but for some reason I remember it being nicer looking.

I don't know what happened to my D2 copy either. I was thinking it'd be neat to check it out again in preparation for 3, but I do have Titan Quest and maybe that will suffice for my action RPG itch. I can usually only take about 20 hours of click and kill before I burn out for a bit.

The videos make it pretty obvious this isn't World of Diablo.

I have issues with McCain, but his intelligence isn't one of them. The guy is a huge improvement over Bush as a candidate. Public speaking flubs are part of the job, they happen.

Bethesda is very good at making fairly enjoyable games despite terrible design decisions. Plus their community usually fixes the most glaring issues after a couple months. That's why I'm really not worried about Fallout 3, it will be playable and it will look nice.

Pretty awesome videos. I'd say it's probably out towards the end of 2009. They announced Starcraft 2 last year, right? Blizzard is pretty good about not leaking inforation until they are far along in development.

What happened to the Wayans brothers doing this stuff? It was somewhat watchable then.

That doesn't make any sense. Blizzard has done absolutely nothing in the history of their company to lead you to believe that. Diablo 3 would be the next iteration of the action-RPG series, just like Warcraft 3 was the next iteration of an RTS series and Starcraft 2 is clearly the next iteration of another RTS series. Now if they announce they are going to put out a new MMO set in the Diablo universe, sure, you'd have a reason to be negative. But seriously, it just sounds like your sore at Blizzard for making a game in a genre that you dislike. Fanboi much? Please don't try to interpret my replies... I never said it was a bad thing. But Blizzard does seem to be taking the easy road these days. I'm a fan of any company that releases solid gold titles for the PC with 100% success. I don't even enjoy RTS's or Diablo type games, but I'm still a huge fan of Blizzard and what they've done for the gaming industry as a whole. If you don't want your posts interpreted, I don't know why you bother post them. That's what happens on forums. Your comment seemed pretty negative, I'm not sure where the yawn emote ever means "good stuff". And what does the easy road mean, anyways? I thought about it, and it's probably because the movie is loosely based around game development. We spend too much time on a game developers forum, so we are probably in the target audience for the film.
