Labyrinth is a work of genius! David Bowie is awesome and so is Jim Henson. You people are broken inside if you think otherwise.

Heh, the one quote where the woman said she was turning to beer and cigarattes for consolation cracked me up. It just completed the mental image of this household. We actually had a similiar discussion awhile back about a student who was wearing a pro-life T-Shirt and was asked to remove it. The problem with the parenting here is that the child is becoming a distraction in the classroom and the parents are supporting that distraction. My job would be much easier if every dumb ass parent understood that the school and the classroom are not a forum for their personal politics.

Pretend for a moment that it is possible that what fundamentalist christians believe is true (just for a minute)... IF it is true, then YOU are the one abusing your child by not teaching them to follow God's laws and condeming them to a life of misery and an eternity in hell. You cannot begin preaching that indoctrination is abuse, because eventually YOU will be in the minority and it will be your children being taken away. Remember when you take away someone else's rights, you're also taking away your own. There is a big difference here between teaching your children to follow God's laws, and teaching your children to condemn those who don't.

I'm going to guess that the game will be out within a year.

Reno 911? Was the other quote from that too?

Busy 4th of July. I was elated to hear the Sharks got Boyle, but a bit sad they gave up a solid prospect in Wishart. Giving up Carle wasn't too bad, the Sharks still have a couple young guys in Erhoff and Vlasic. I was then very bummed they trade Rivet to Buffalo. Rivet is a very solid guy who sticks up for his teammates. I know the Sharks want to replenish draft picks and drop salary, but I'd rather have Rivet than Blake. Still, the Sharks defense is better now than they were yesterday, so I can't complain too much. I'm recovering from the shock a bit. I noticed Bernier was traded from Buffalo to Vancouver. This seems like a wierd trade for Buffalo. They seemed like a team commited to young talent, so giving away 2nd rounders and a 23 year old potential power forward seems unwise. Needless to say it's a good choice for Vancouver. Bernier has the potential to be a 40 goal guy, and at worst he'll probably fit comfortably on a second line and threaten for 20 every year. I'm happy to see Jagr go to Russia, I think it's a great boost for the Russian Super League and I think he'll enjoy himself in that environment. He's probably got two years left where he can play at a really high level and I'm glad he's using his star power to help that league.

I'm pretty sure Vista just recognizes it immediately without needing to install a driver.

Thanks, worked like a charm. The game is more fun without dying.

I'm more of a Winter Olympics fan, myself.

I'm bored and dying to much. What's a good level hack?

Where is that? It's just a rumor Sharks picked up Rob Blake. 5 mil. seems a bit high for a guy that isn't as good as he used to be, but this could really help the Sharks get a powerplay together. I'm still hoping they manage to pull in Boyle, or trade for some solid defensive D-man.

My impression is that Jagr has't decided what he wants to do. I imagine if he plays in the NHL, it will be with the Rangers.

Just teleportation, but there are varying degrees of it, and it creates kind of a sonic boom if he wants.

Jumper - I agree with much of what LadyCrimson said. There were just a lot of messed up morality choices in the movie. Every character seemed to be thoughtless, arrogant, and fairly evil. There wasn't really any "good guy" to root for. There is a scene early on where the Jumper is watching a bunch of people on TV that are getting washed away in a flood. He pays little attention to it, but the fact they showed it would seem to implicate plot relevance. I was expecting that maybe the character would grow somehow and start using his immense powers for good, or at least not entirely selfish reasons. That never happened, and it left me feeling fairly apathetic towards the ending.

I'm actually a bit surprised by the Hossa deal. Is he making more than Datsyuk and Zetterberg? How much is Lidstrom making? It just seems like they've got to be pretty close to the cap with that type of contract, and if they aren't, then someone is underpaid. Just read up on it, he's making a tad less than Lidstrom. This sounds like a deal that might tick off Datsyuk and Zetterberg, those guys deserve more than Hossa. They won the cup.

White Men Can't Jump, Jungle Fever, New Jack City, Rising Sun... He's not really a strong leading man, but when paired with another solid actor, he used to hold his own.

Heathen. I watched Chaos - A crime caper flick with Jason Statham, Wesley Snipes, and Ryan Phillipe. It was decent, pretty predictable, but I really enjoy Statham and that guy who was married to Reese Witherspoon. What happened to Wesley Snipes? He used to be a rather solid actor, but this last decade has been pretty weak. Maybe he'll be better when he gets out of jail.

That's probably true, given that its months away from release and not fully playable yet.

Did they sign Rozsival? I thought he was an RFA. I was pretty bummed Brian Campbell took off to Chicago. I see his reasoning, it's big money, a bigger contract, and it's closer to his family. Still, he's leaving a team that is a threat to go deep in the playoffs every year for one that is young and inexperienced. I'm not saying Chicago won't make the playoffs, I think they have a decent shot this year, but they are still building. So in essence he's taking the money over an immediate shot at the Cup. But the real issue is that it leaves San Jose weaker than they were, and they need to address their defense before the season begins.

Lawful good human monk here, level 4.

1280x1024 Mod That looks interesting, although the comments in that thread don't make me 100% comfortable. Right now 800x600 isn't too bad.

Well, if you dislike the first two shots of tequila, I've heard the third is always better. But I don't think that applies when you space the shots years apart.

McCain criticizes "President Putin of Germany"
Hurlshort replied to Jediphile's topic in Way Off-Topic
See, this is where I'm having an issue: Refusing to leave Refusing to leave without his fellow soldiers There is a big difference between those two statements. If my house was on fire, I'd be foolish to stick around. However is my family is trapped inside, I'd consider it unconscionable to leave without them. Am I making more sense now? -
Blizzard is just about the best there is at keeping projects completely under wraps until they have a near playable version of the game ready. And then they just sit and polish it for two years while folks drool.
