  1. 10,000 BC - I went in with low expectations and they were met fully. I thought the Sabre Tooth came back?
  2. I've been doing this with Gametap for the last month. The games lineup is different, but there are plenty of good classics. The price point is the same. www.gametap.com Just realized the difference is you are paying per game, but you own them. Gametap gives you access to every game for a monthly fee. You can play as many as you'd like (a thousand or so) but once you stop paying the subscription, you are done.
  3. I keep checking in on that website, but no update yet. I wonder if they'll release anything tonight?
  4. I was completely surprised in KotOR. It was an awesome moment. I feel bad for anyone who is too smart and didn't get the full experience of the surprise.
  5. But if you want fun games, it is in your best interest that the industry continues to grow and games you like succeed commercially.
  6. I hardly think calling in for an armor boost in a tough mission is a hack. Unless you are super into achievements, I don't know why you'd let a tough mission keep you from enjoying the full storyline.
  7. If by ancient history, you mean games a few years ago sold less than games today, you are correct sir. The entire industry has grown. Sales numbers today are expected to be much higher than NWN or BG2. If it didn't match NWN2, it would be considered a failure.
  8. Chicken > Steak It's useless to argue, it's totally true.
  9. Burn Notice season 2 starts tomorrow night. Go Bruce Campbell!
  10. It sounds like Hossa thought Detroit had a better shot at the Cup then the Pens. I'm not as convinced, I think the Pens will make the finals a couple more times over the next dozen years. The East right now is easier to come out of. It's not as physical. I'm not saying Detroit won't win, I just think his chances aren't all that much different. I guess if you are putting it all on next year, the Wings are a better choice.
  11. Did you say 6k in 6 months? Did you mean 600k? I'm pretty sure we could package my armpit hair and sell 6k in 6 months.
  12. Yes, it's true. You go to the Jedi academy and through quests learn about the Jedi, you go to the Sith academy and learn about the Sith, and have a chance to either follow their philosophy or reject it by your actions. You're not just told Czerka is evil, you see for yourself how evil they are. If you're told Taris consists of the rich upper city and the wretched lower city, you go there and see for yourself. You learn all kinds of things about the universe, and very little through exposition. If it was ME, all that stuff would just be written down in the Codex for you to read, instead of experience for yourself. That's the difference between a great game and a mediocre one, I'll never understand why so many people can't see that. Doesn't everything in the Sith Academy try to kill you whether you are good or bad?
  13. JE still sold a couple million, I believe. They don't release sales numbers, so it's hard to say for sure, but there was some information out there that it did welle nough to warrant a sequel. Of course, this was an Xbox game originally, so if you are just talking PC numbers you might be right. I doubt any port sells phenomenally. You can probably gaurantee NWN2 type numbers for the game, maybe a bit higher because of Bioware and the fact that EA will probably get it out and andvertised better than Atari.
  14. The Mist - Good, but easily the worst ending I've seen in years. Not really because it was a downer, but more bcause it defied all common sense.
  15. That was the best ending I've seen to a game in a long time. I feel good about myself and I'll be a bit happier for the rest of the day. Every game should have a song like that at the end. Pure satisfaction.
  16. Again, I still can't think of any scoring superstars that manage to keep up a decent point pace into their 40's. Defensemen and goalies play a very different game. I'm wracking my brain for one. What kind of points did Gordie Howe put up at 40? Oh, and Volourn I know Jagr is superior to Nolan, you don't need to be snippity. Heck, I've been agreeing with you on most points here, but I just see positives in the fact Jagr signed with the Russian club.
  17. I don't think Jagr was asking for 2.5 million a season, like Nolan. He's probably making a good deal more than that in Russia.
  18. I'm really quite confused how anyone who liked KotOR could hate ME, or vice-versa. I could understand being a fan of one and not the other, I'm just not sure where the differences are enough to hate one and love the other. They seem pretty dang similiar.
  19. What type of damage does the damaging part of that weapon do? I bet it damages awesomely.
  20. You are right, Hockey is going to be available for the PC. Interesting. Why only Hockey? Doesn't make any sense, unless it was already in production before they made the decision to get out of PC sports gaming. Or the NHL series sells enough PC copies to justify continuing to create it? The NHL series is produced by a completely different development studio, so that might have something to do with it also.
  21. I had to try that just now. I failed miserably... You can rent House Party and use it to practice.
  22. This is either an alt, or someone who catches on super quick!
  23. You can definitely find more complexity in PC titles. The problem is most developers (ok, EA, but they kinda own the kingdom) want to release a new title every year. They probably see it as a better business decision to not make the game have too many layers, because that might cause folks to play it longer than a year and cut into their bottom line.
