  1. In the original Jagged Alliance, I had Fidel and some ditzy girl on my team. There were no night missions in the original, so you kinda just simmed to the next day. One morning we woke up, and the ditzy girl was gone! Fidel claimed to have nothing to do with it, but I think we all know the truth
  2. You are probably better off resting. You'll likely lose Lynx, but honestly you will get to higher better Mercs down the road. One of the great things about taking the weak AIM guys at the beginning is they really grow with you. My first campaign had guys like MD and Barry being excellent soldiers by about halfway through the game, and MERC guys like Razor and Haywire can be surprisingly effective with a little love.
  3. You can probably drop leadership to 35 as well. It's only useful for training troops, I believe, and your primary merc isn't going to spend a ton of time doing that, plus the wisdom score will help it go up fast. A bit of an accuracy boost might save your life early on.
  4. I wonder if the Gametap version is broken too? 1.13 enhances the resolution, Krezack, so it makes the game look incredibly better than the original resolution. For me, that alone means I'll never go back to the vanilla install.
  5. You are watching it completely out of context, is the real issue. You should be watching it in the 80's when you are 9 years old. I don't know how you can blame the movie for you being too old and two generations too late.
  6. I couldn't get into Psych either. I think it's just a matter of whether you enjoy the two lead actors. They are not bad to me, but they don't particularly standout.
  7. You are dead to me.
  8. Moving JA2 out of the weak 800x600 resolution and into the higher ones easily extended its life by a couple years for me.
  9. I'm a bit sore about Nabakov coming in second. But it was about as close as it could get, and hopefully it will motivate him to play even more stellar next year.
  10. I can see your point, as Xcom was basically redone recently in a game called UFO: Extraterrestrials. The graphics were a lot more modern (although I don't think it was 3d.) It was mediocre at best. It really tried to take everything from the original and recreate it, and it wasn't enough. I think what I'm looking for is taking the best parts of Xcom, and then adding some great stuff. The best parts of Xcom are the wonderful TB combat, soldier development, and strategic layer. I just don't see any games coming out with those core components, and that saddens me. It doesn't even have to be an alien setting, I'd be happy with any setting and those components. Looking at the original JA and JA2, you can see how they improved upon a strong property. They made huge changes in JA2, but they kept the zany personalities and strong TB combat intact. That is the growth I would look for in JA3. Sadly I don't expect that to happen, but my hopes for JA3 is that it's a decent improvement over Silent Storm.
  11. Planescape Torment - I decided to try out this Gametap service, and I was happy to see this old game. So far, so good, just left the Mortuary. Gametap also has the Sam & Max series, which will likely be my next choice. After that I heard Fallout will be coming to the service.
  12. I don't know, why don't I watch more silent pictures? Technology has advanced an insane amount since the last Xcom, at least in a graphical sense. There is room for improvement in the JA and Xcom series, but they are primarily from a graphical and animation standpoint. I still load up JA2 (although I dread trying it on my new Vista system) and I played Xcom about two years ago. JA2 still looks decent, but Xcom definitely shows a few wrinkles. They aren't getting prettier, and I don't think it's abnormal to hope that someday someone will give them a makeover without butchering the charming gameplay.
  13. Huh, how about that?
  14. Prepare for awesomness.
  15. LotR Online Server: Windfola Main: Taranto Age of Conan Server: Wicanna Main: Brashen and Taranto
  16. Ah, thank you for clarifying without illuminating whatsoever. I'm pretty sure the care level is at an absolute minimum on clans, since most of us just play among the forums and real world friends. But I might be wrong.
  17. Hasek is about 43 or 44, I believe. I think he did an amazing job considering his age, and he shouldn't feel any embarrasment over being replaced by a very solid Osgood in the playoff run. I've never felt he was as good of an NHL goalie as he was internationally. On an international level, he was easily the best goalie of the 90's. They had an interesting poll with Brodeur, Roy, and Hasek being compared on TSN. I don't think he's necessarily in the same class as those two. Those guys have really won the cup all alone on occassion, Hasek never managed that in Buffalo.
  18. I'm surprised we haven't talked about Ron Wilson going to Toronto. An American coach in Canada! And Brian Burke might not be too far behind. I actually see this as a decent turn for Toronto. Wilson will get them back into the playoffs fairly soon. It also will help Toskala to have a familiar face behind the bench, and it removes any doubt about him being the number 1 guy. If they can get Burke, the Leafs will officially be righting the ship.
  19. Don't Mess with the Zohan - I enjoyed it, but I sat next to 3 women who hated it. It was pretty typical Adam Sandler movie fare. I'd place it around the middle of his Happy Madison empire, with Lil Nicky being at the bottom and Happy Gilmore being at the top. The movie is very focused on **** humor.
  20. Hmm...there is still a good amount of debate about why the Maya abandoned there rather elaborate cities. I can see LOST keying in on something like that. It doesn't mean it's going to go X-Files on us. 4 seasons without any hint of alien life probably means there won't be any.
  21. Why does your financee make your gaming decisions? And how much money are you giving them, anyways?
  22. The giant ant deaths weren't enough for you? I thought there was a decent amount of gruesome deaths, actually. In fact I was a bit surprised given the current climate of PG-13 movies being much tamer than they were in the 80's.
  23. Just finished the season finale, and I thought it was a well done season through and through. Jin's death was a bit weak (it doesn't take two people to cool a battery, I wanted him to go down fighting.) It should be a good final two seasons. I hope they spend some time with the old married couple on the island, they kinda ignored them this season.
  24. Indy 4 - I was disappointed. Not by the acting, the lack of Sean Connery, or the slightly goofy 50's red scare setting. Not even by a very old looking Harrison Ford still getting into fist fights. I was disappointed in the radical departure from the previous mythos. The previous Indy's were based around biblical legends, except for the Temple of Doom. Lucas once talked about how Indy is a character who starts off as an athiest, but because of what he experiences, he moves to a more agnostic viewpoint. There was a lot of religion, or spirituality, in the films because Jones is an archealogist, and anyone who studies history understands that that greatest mysteries of humanity are all tied to some form of religion. The plot in 4 was just silly, and departed entirely from any trace of historical relevance by the end.
  25. I believe it is pretty much designed for the consoles.
