  1. I don't necessarily want to be your friend, I just want you to develop a friendship with SOMEONE. Seriously, you might as well be a bot with all the relationships you've managed to build over the years. It's not healthy.
  2. You have a weird idea of Brazil. You don't get diseased by travelling there. You don't even get diseased by living there. I was speaking more about rain forests than specific countries.
  3. Why do you keep saying that? He already responded and told you that was not true. Troll.
  4. I voted for that one, but more because it is the only one I don't understand. Hence it must be bad.
  5. Even when Cheechoo was scoring 54 goals, no one was saying he was one of the greatest players ever. He was a fantastic finisher, but he lacked the puck handling and skating to dominate a game. Marleau has dominated games throughout his career. Not consistently, but he can take over a game, and he's even got solid numbers in the playoffs. He scored two hat tricks in a series against Colorado, and that was before Thornton even came to SJ. Now Marleau is a great player, but who knows what will happen in the next few years? If he plays the way he has this year and last, then he deserves to be considered one of the best in the league. You can make the argument that pretty much every great player has had other great guys around them to elevate their play. Ovechkin has Semin and Green. Crosby has Malkin. Lemieux had Jagr. I don't think Marleau is there yet, again he was very inconsistent in his early career, but if he keeps up this type of play for a couple years, then Thornton-Marleau deserve their place.
  6. Yes, but Morgoth seems to be putting forth the theory that popularity = bad. http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20100112/en_huffpost/420605 Apparently Avatar is depressing people. Seriously, if they want to visit Pandora, go visit Brazil or the Congo. Sure, you will probably die from some disease, but that kinda goes along with the Pandora vibe too.
  7. Up has an insane 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is CGI and features an old man, a boy, and a dog. It also made most people cry in the first 20 minutes.
  8. Adam Graves was a great player, actually.
  9. New Orleans over Arizona - probably a bad choice, but if the Saints D shows up they can stop the Cards Indy over Baltimore - I'm not a Ravens fan. Dallas over Min - The Cowboys look like the real deal this year. SD over NY - Just for Kelverin
  10. Marleau is a pretty good example of how the C isn't always good for a player. He has been one of the best players in the league since he had the letter taken away.
  11. Wait, did someone call Toy Story soulless? Wow.
  12. I'm pretty sure Avatar had a story.
  13. Mostly I watch Fox News through Daily Show clips. But I really only watch my local news folks, I don't care much for CNN or MSNBC either.
  14. I agree with Bhlaab, it was a bit odd how I could take out security forces easily right at the start of Fallout 3. I found the Raiders a bit harder at the start though.
  15. I agree with Writeguard.
  16. Bush was a skilled domestic politician. I haven't seen any of the qualities that Bush possessed in Palin. I'm not a fan of Bush, I just don't think he was a terrible president. When we look back on his terms in 20 years, I think he will be decidedly average. From a foreign policy perspective, he was very weak, so I can see where you are coming from though.
  17. I'm pretty sure Palin has no chance of ever capturing the Republican nomination to run for president.
  18. That sounds like crazy talk. Renaissance artists had to produce religious works because the church was paying them, does that mean the Sistine Chapel is not worthwhile? Shakespeare blatantly went for the popularity, adding more sex and violence with each play to try and turn a profit. It really looks to me like you are just trying to say popularity = bad.
  19. I haven't really followed Drury since he went to the East Coast, but when he was playing for the Avs it always seemed like he was scoring an OT or game winning goal, particularly against my Sharks :D
  20. Do you mean the Foreman Grill? We have one and we use it a lot for burgers.
  21. That's a pretty flimsy argument when you are dealing with the best selling movie of all time, which Avatar seems to be closing in on. I get that when you are talking about the popularity of trash TV, but Avatar is getting great reviews from professional critics, it is making tons of money week after week, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. How exactly are you defining a 'good' movie anyways? If we take 100 people with an IQ over 120 and poll them on whether Avatar is good or bad, would that be more satisfactory to you? As for the 3D and eye candy argument, this isn't the first 3D movie and that Final Fantasy movie was a box office flop despite having high tech eye candy. That might carry a movie to number 1 for a week or two, but so far Avatar is showing much stronger than just a flash in the pan pretty picture.
  22. Did you miss the part where you started this whole exchange by calling me wrong? See, you keep throwing out opinions without backing them up. I've been stating facts about Titanic and Avatar. You are the troll here, you attacked me, and then you got defensive when I questioned your logic, because you are unable to look at any other perspectives. It's the same old thing we've argued about for years now. But hey, I've sent you a few PM's about my concerns over your posting habits. I am here for you if you want to have a real discussion on developing relationships with people on these boards. Until you are willing to open up to someone, you will not really be taken seriously here, you will just be they guy who throws out the same arguments ad nauseam with no regard for others.
  23. So people are going to see Avatar multiple times because it is NOT a good movie? You can't be that ignorant so I'm going to consider your post on this issue trolling.
  24. You are spouting opinions. Sales numbers are fact. roofles!
  25. I think it's pretty silly to bash Titanic. It's an amazing movie and that is shown by the sales numbers. Avatar is now in that camp. Face it, just because a movie does not appeal to you, doesn't mean it is a bad movie. I understand that some of you like to argue the whole 'pop culture isn't necessarily good' card, but when a movie is plowing through every sales record in existence, that argument starts to lose steam.
