That really depends on how you define a miracle. Our very existence is a fairly low probability event. We can argue about the exact odds and all that, but lets save that for another thread. I consider my daughter a miracle. You can argue about her just being part of a biological cycle and a combination of genetic traits from two people, but that isn't going to change the emotions I have for her. Really, I'm not looking to change your minds here. Believe what you want to. But it would be nice if you could see and respect other perspectives on the matter. I get where you are coming from, you want more solid proof and evidence. That is something that many of the most pious clergymen have gone through. Questioning faith is an important part of any persons spiritual journey. Closing your mind off to all matters of faith can be just as stifling as closing your mind to science.

I'm not sure where worship comes in here, we are just discussing the belief in the existence of God that many people share. You are looking at this from a scientific viewpoint, and I get that, but try looking at it from a legal perspective and you might see my point of view. In a courtroom, an eyewitness account is a form of evidence. It is not as good as DNA or video evidence, to be sure, but it is used in many cases. The jury hears the experience of the witness, and then they make the call as to whether the account is reliable. Nw I'm getting the feeling that you are automatically discounting the eyewitness accounts without actually weighing them. That is your prerogative, but I consider it a folly. Sure, you will probably look at the other evidence and find it weighs against the testimony, but not taking them into account at all is short sighted.

I somehow doubt millions of people have the exact same hallucination. Call me skeptical. Humans are very susceptible to the power of suggestion. What you are missing here is that everyone has a unique relationship with God. But the general feeling of something greater in the universe is the same, and it's shared by millions and throughout human history. I'm not sure why you feel the need to belittle that. No one here is forcing you to believe it, you are the one going after others because of their beliefs. As for the power of suggestion, that argument works great for religion and mass faith, but not so well with personal faith. If my beliefs were just tied to the power of suggestion, why is it easy for me to dismiss all the religious aspects of Christianity I was raised with except the concept of God? Logic would dictate that it would be an all or nothing deal.

It's a personal revelation that is shared by millions, so that is the difference between God and your giant bunny.

But if you went to any of those countries you'd be called a commie. By who? I have families in my community going to China all the time. The odds are much more likely that you will be called a spy by China and N. Korea.

Woe actually means distress or an affliction. It can be construed as saying you are in danger of punishment, but it can also mean that, if you are wealthy, you are in jeopardy of not saving your soul because your life is too good. It's an easy decision as a pauper to say, hey I'll devote myself to Christ. You have nothing to lose. As a rich man, there is a lot less motivation, and therein lies the woe.

A warning that they will be punished for their wealth? Where does it mention punishment?

How else can you explain "But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort," but as a direct curse on the rich? How else can you explain the story of the rich man and Lazarus, when the sole difference between them is their prosperity? Just curious. I don't see it as a direct curse, I see it more as a warning. But it's not exactly news that the bible can be interpreted in many different ways.

Avatar - Definitely worth the ticket price. It was a lot of fun. Definitely had a lot of the Aliens stuff in it, which is never a bad thing.

It's not an all-time list, it's just top games of the year. Basically I listed games based on how much of my time they occupied. If I played a game for more than a couple hours, it made the list.

They are pretty amazing athletes, for the most part. I really enjoyed watching a show on MTV a few years back where amateurs competed for a WWE contract. The training and routines they had to learn were incredible, it's like combining gymnastics with football. The storylines are a bit too soap operish for my taste, but the wrestling itself is interesting.

I agree about Morrow. Of course the same can be said about Shane Doane, I was surprised he missed the list too.

Hunting is actually a pretty popular activity in rural areas.

Lecavilier is having a pretty rough season so far, and St. Louis hasn't been big time for a couple years now. edit: You know, I just checked the stats, and St. Louis is still putting up a lot of points. Maybe it's the ugly +/- rating?

Those who state belief as fact offend me. One can percieve belief in many ways, maybe a person believes in god, and I believe in one less god than he does, or perhaps christians should accept the existence of all gods, otherwise their own is infact unjustified. GD was stating facts about his personal beliefs. I thought that was pretty clear. You really don't need to be so hung up on it. I share his opinion, and I have a lot of evidence to back up my belief in God.

there are reports that the neck jar thing they do can rupture/tear the carotid. at any rate, my neck has never been the same since my chiropractic visits over a decade ago. my back got better, but that was actually the result of exercise as far as i could tell. never again, and i would not recommend a chiropractor to anyone. taks A bad chiropractor can definitely do a lot more harm than good. I prefer massage therapists. You can't really do much wrong just working knots out of the muscles, whereas messing with the skeletal structure is sketchy.

I'd rate Dragon Age a good deal higher than Jade Empire. DA was fantastic. Of course I personally enjoyed them both, so keep that in mind. The difference between the two for me was in the world creation and lore. JE came across as smaller and not as well developed. Of course that is probably just because it was a more foreign concept to me to be in an Asian fantasy than a medieval fantasy.

I bought Star Wars: The Force Unlaced for the the PS3 to occupy me during my leg healing. I haven't loaded it up yet, but I think it will be a fun diversion and the price was good.
