I was thinking about transcending the need for physical sustenance as well, but I really dig a good cheeseburger. This doesn't surprise me though, with proper mental training you can overcome all sorts of physical obstacles. This is a pretty amazing one, but people have been doing it for a long time.

Where I grew up, the whole Mormon aspect of Boy Scouts was not ever mentioned. I'm sure it's more of a regional issue as to how religious the Scouts are. I believe being an Eagle Scout automatically puts you on the path to being an officer, as does a college degree or participation in ROTC.

The Giants have a bit of a weak #5 guy in Wellermeyer, but I like your confidence! 1-4 could basically be #1 guys for half the teams in MLB. But last night they lost after Lincecum allowed 1 run over 8 and a third innings, so it's not a perfect situation in SF.

I'm not really sure what to expect from the Giants. I know they are going to be over .500 unless something really goes bad, but they really are a roller coaster team when it comes to winning games. They've got some big holes and there doesn't seem to be any way to fill them. I have no clue what happened with the Padres.

I'd argue that sci-fi is the current king of movies. Star Wars, Avatar, Star Trek, The Matrix...these are gigantic properties.

Ok, hopefully I can stay hot. East: Pittsburgh over Montreal in 6 - The Pens look like they are rolling. Halak might steal a game or two. Boston over Philly in 7 - This is a hard one, but I've always been a Bruins fan. Marco Sturm will get a game winner in OT at some point. West: San Jose over Detroit in 6 - I'm not going to say anything about how the Sharks have overcome their post-season issues. I think they are a deeper team than they have been in the past, I think they can play physical and I think they will get a lot of shots on Howard. I think Detroit is more vulnerable than they have been in the last couple years as well. Chicago over Vancouver in 6 - I really am surprised by the play of Luongo, he will need to dominant to beat the Hawks and he hasn't shown that ability in the post-season.

GUN was pretty good. The Western genre isn't dead, it just isn't the behemoth it once was. There are also quite a few modern Westerns out there, I'm really enjoying the new FX show Justified. There are also spades of successful Western mini-series in the last decade or so. Blockbusters may be few and far between, but that has more to do with the rise of sci-fi.

I just got it on Blu-Ray. It looks fantastic, easily the best Blu-Ray showcase movie out there. Didn't they crop the Blu-Ray version? I read this on some Amazon review:

It does look hilarious. There is nothing wrong with making fun of terrorists. They are absurd people, they are perfect fodder for satire.

They forced a game 7 against the team that reached the finals in the last two years. They are young and should be able to build on this for next year. You know, the usual cliches But seriously, they made this series way closer than I thought it would be.

Both Bioshock and Oblivion were very solid, playable games. These things come down to taste. Also, both those games were rather engaging out of the box. It took me about a dozen hours to start really seeing the flaws. Reviewers have deadlines that they have to meet, so I can understand the high reviews from that perspective. It's really just a flawed industry, the whole games review publications. I don't blame the the writers for the scoring system, although the terrible writing is their burden to bear.

Ever since I moved to the country, my broadband has been pretty miserable. Online gaming is basically no fun anymore. Someday I'll hopefully get a decent connection for more backstabbing.

Sure, any game with stellar reviews is going to be solid. The big thing is having a clear grasp of what your tastes are and how they might conflict with a reviewer.

I'm enjoying the heck out of the single player campaign as well.

Take your own advice on the whole backup versus starter argument.

I'm a huge Avery fan, but the guy is still a third line player. He's one of the better energy players out there, but he's only playing 15 minutes a game on a good night. There are a lot of guys out there like him, the Sharks have Scott Nichol. Bryz is a top 10 goalie right now, he's even up for a Vezina. This argument will be less absurd if Avery ever gets nominated for a major award. And Heatley, Marleau, and Thornton have expressed disappointment in their own performances so far, so that pretty much sums that up.

Unfortunately the radio has very little moderate presence. My choices for talk radio are either complainers who want to impeach the president or sports talk. I'm not sure why anyone watches national news on TV either. I stick with my local news crews.

Yeah, I've been pretty shocked by the outrage and uproar over Obama's term. Their are a lot of conservative media folks who are simply crazy. I always thought the liberals were more on the batpoop crazy train, but the last year you've had folks like Limbaugh and Savage on the radio just foaming at the mouth.

Getting Bryzgalof from the Ducks has to be the greatest waiver pickup ever.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I'm going to storyboard some of the classroom characters and hopefully get some good variety going. It's also great to get a different perspective than my 7th graders. They can be pretty funny, but they haven't really developed a refined sense of humor.

I'm going to assume you are joking, because this argument has more holes than your average porno. I think you are also missing the point that none of the censorship affects going onto an adult site and streaming videos, that can be done on any 3G phone. The only issue here is the censorship of apps on the Apple store.
