Yep, but it's got permadeath and a load of griefers so that's a bit of a drawback.

The concept of Xcom isn't really all that strong, it's a fairly generic concept, and the different games in the series have been very inconsistent when it came to setting and art. People played them for the TB combat and the strategic level. If you played Fallout for the TB combat, where a rat took 4 turns to run towards you and then tried to bite your ankle while you unloaded pistol rounds into the ground, then I feel sorry for you.

While it may help, not all religious people are drunk and stoned.

The Sharks top line should be the one apologizing, Krook. I just don't get how they completely lose all offensive skill in the playoffs.

Apparently that is how the students see me. It has its uses, discipline is fairly easy. "Catherine" actually was the one who suggested it would be a funny comic after I said it in class. Some of my kids have remarkably thick skin.

I added another comic, and it looks like the back and forward buttons are generated automatically. Comicpress is very nice. I agree that the handwritten text is a problem, but I am a bit worried that if I go in with a program and do it digitally it will look out of place. Now that I have the website functional, I'll be putting a bit more time into the actual comic. I also have a limited amount of time to work with my artist, she basically whips these out during our morning breaks. I can spend as much free time as I want on this, but I can't overload a student with too much stuff. I still am thinking about getting a tablet, but for now I'll ask her to try some different pens and clean up the handwriting. The forums are borked somehow. No one can add topics. I'll have to work on that one.

It doesn't really matter who you are. You are not a real person. You are playing a character here, like this is some role playing game. But you really aren't a part of this community, so your opinion, while a nuisance, is unimportant. So good luck with your imaginary quests and stuff. Any constructive criticism from real people would be wonderful

Thanks Pop. Did I mention it's a webcomic?

Ok folks, I have a decent start on the website. I'm not ready to start pimping it out or anything, I'm building a stockpile of comics so I can update on a regular basis (probably two or three a week) once I get all the kinks worked out. But I have a comic, a blog post, and a forum, so I would really appreciate some feedback on it. http://www.waltersland.net/

There are supposedly two Xcom games in the works, so I still expect a more strategic version eventually. The other one has been tied to Sid Meier in rumors, so that further improves the odds it will feature the classic formula. I'm still interested in this title, the research element is interesting. It will not be a first day buy for me, but I'll see how it is received. Xcom: Enforcer already tackled the FPS genre in the universe, too.

I've heard conflicting stuff on margerine versus butter.

I like your style. Throw in MLB '10 and you've got my last couple weeks of gaming. Have you done any of the Spring festival in LotRO? I started earning rep. for the Ale Association and then I found out what the vendors offered, at Friend and Kindred, and decided to stop wasting my time. I finally finished Volume 1 -- only took me a year but the white horse they give you is pretty cool. Now I feel like I can move on with the game and finish up Volume 2 into Mirkwood. I did the ale one way back in the day, but the little mini-games never interested me much. I want to finish up Volume 1 too, now that they made it solo friendly. I'm on Book 12, if I recall.

Sorry to hear that Wals. Get well soon. I'm also a bit slow on recovery. I played hockey yesterday and my leg is still not cooperating fully. It is humbling to be the worst player on the ice.

Western Conference: San Jose vs. Colorado - Of course I'm rooting for San Jose, but I do think this is a good match up for them. Colorado is young and will be lucky to win one. San Jose in 5. Chicago versus Nashville - The Preds always surprise me at their ability to get in the playoffs. But they've yet to surprise in the playoffs and Chicago should roll in 5. Vancouver versus Los Angeles - Another young team in LA, and I don't see them having a chance to upset a solid 'Nucks team. VAN in 5 Phoenix versus Detroit - A terrible pull for the Yotes, who really had a great season. Wings in 5. East: Caps versus Canadiens - I think the Habs will put up a good fight, but still lose in 6. New Jersey versus Philly - Philly dominated the regular season versus the Devils. I'm going to call an upset and give the Flyers the nod in 7. Buffalo versus Boston - I like Boston, so I'll give them the win in 7. Tough series though. Pittsburgh versus Ottawa - Pens should roll here in 5.

I'm heading out to the Giants game on Wednesday. Normally the Pirates are an easy win, but they seem to have a decent squad this year.

I just get concerned about your anger management. I am dead serious.

Perhaps if we say his name three times he will go away? I'll need some help on this one. Lord of Flies

The US is fairly difficult to peg with the whole tolerance label. It is an incredibly large nation with an incredibly diverse national identity. There is a ton of racism, sexism, and bigotry, I'll concede that. But it is also possible to succeed no matter what your station in life, and those chances of success are many. A land of opportunity, if you will.

tl;dr Don't feed the troll.

Yes, I'm not sure why Rockstar even used the Red Dead IP. I guess they wanted something somewhat recognizable to gamers. Maybe they haven't been happy with their new IP's, I'm not sure how Bully did but I remember some emergency game tanked way back in the day.

I'm here for you if you need to talk buddy. I know you don't like using PM's, but if you need a friend, just let me know. Life doesn't have to be this hard.

You read an awful lot into my statement that Ovechkin had a great year. This is also why the Hart trophy exists. Ovechkin is great, he would likely get my vote for MVP. But the Art Ross is based on points and Sedin had a great season to wrap that award up. You are actually the only one bashing players here (well, other than the funny bait job that Krookie is doing.)
-
Sedin matched Ovechkin's most points in a season, so I don't know how it is tainted. He had a great year, as did Ovechkin. Why do you feel the need to belittle his accomplishment?

I'm rooting for Detroit today in the hopes that my Sharks will not have to face them in the first round.
